Probably my most favorite freestyle dance track ever (and there were so many good ones back in the 80s). This song was regularly played in my car starting in 1986 through about 1990... such great memories ; )
I'm 52 years old and fortunately got to see all the freestyle singers as they became famous , I grew up in Brooklyn and truly miss the fun we had back then, nowadays everyones stuck staring at thier phones or locked up in a room playing PS4, only those who lived it know that the 80s and 90s were the best years for music and truly being free and having fun. I miss it so much it hurts, but am glad I was around for those years and fun times.
I never lived any of that because, besides of the fact that I was born in 84 and I was a baby when this type of music was a hit on clubs, I'm from Chile and this music was never succesful over here. But thanks to the Internet I discovered freestyle and I love it, I'm even producing my first song full of 80s sounds. Fingers crossed for me to finish it haha.
it's all that you said and more. We were in LOVE, we were heartbroken. we were the SAME age as our favorite FreeStyle legends. Coro, Cynthia, TKA, Fascination, Noel, 🌹🌹🌹🌹The Queen "Judy Torres🌹🌹🌹🌹, Johnny-O, Little Suzy, Cover Girls, and so many more. Thank You for sharing your comment🥂🍾
OMG this brings me to tears...good tears I guess...man, what 1986? I was a "pup" working in a club in NY and LOVED this song back then....would do anything to go back to these times OMG....
My cousin used to love that break at 3:27. He would double up on the turntables and go back & forth with it. The floor would get crazy. R.I.P. Robert...
I'm 20 years old, but I love this music!^^ Modern music is quite boring to me, but since my mom grew up with this music, I've heard it a lot and really love it.:)
You have good taste in music. Wish you could have grew up in the 80s. It was great but at least you can listen to the great music that was made back then. Keep appreciating great things.
I'm almost 65 (still feel 24 inside) and in the late 80's & 90's in growing up in Brooklyn. Always heard this song at the clubs in the village. The crowd went crazy when this song played. Never forget even Sylvester performed at a club in Brooklyn 1989? I believe-I thought -wow Sylvester would step into Brooklyn. Miss those days dearly and all my friends. Best times/years of my life back then!!
I did yesterday & today--to and from work. 51 years old in New Hampshire--lol. Born & raised nYc--Bushwick, Brooklyn and then a few blocks away in Ridgewood, Queens.
My favorite Freestyle song when I was 15 and now at 44! HIP HOP was still also old school at the time, and the latin B Girls were off the hook...we had the best of both worlds back then....Freestyle and Hip Hop. "1986"
Im there with U I wake up sometimes what happen to our music why did it end so abruptly I feel the answer was that we out grew the club scene 2 fast and didnt provide enough support Oh well luckly there are words like reminisce. a toast to the eights
which part? i was born in hollister but have had family in san jose since the 1920s, mainly on the eastside especially around king. this music was and is our soundtrack throughout the santa clara valley!

i remember my mother playing all this music when i was a little boy. who am i to talk though i was born in 1992. but from what i remember most of the 90's since i was 4 years old, all these great tracks and dont forget stevieb and lil suzy! only downfall of listening to this music, it makes me sad that the 90's and 80's are a thing of the past. if only we had a time machine and we could go back. when i seeclip movies and family photos and videos of the 80's i wish i could be bornagain 80's90's!

Freestyle had also made its way up to Toronto in the 80's but it wasn't as big as Miami, NYC, and some other places. It was the young Filipino community with their parties and dj's that I started hearing this sound and I loved it
Growing up in Boyle Heights Califas it was a blessing to be able to hear this music at club, house parties or cruising down the street blasting this music. Roosevelt Rough Riders

Wow, this song makes me feel sad. I was too young to enjoy this song with friends when it first came out. I went crazy with this song, I was about 11yr old(?) but I remember feeling a sense of intense "maturing". I wanted to be a teenager and partying with this song. Sigh. Now, I'm 36 and still get that intense feeling. Damnit I'm partying on my next Friday "4 sho!" Thanks so much for posting this!
I am 52 now, I remember those fun times at South Beach, Florida with it’s Art Deco District late 80’s early 90’s. This song really brings me back memories.
I heard this song all the time growing up thanks to my mother, but I never knew the group or song. then at 16-17 I heard it again, got the name and group, but forgot. now it's 2017, im 25 and been searching for a bit, gave up and randomly find it😅🤘✌

gimme a break. you guys in texas need to stick to your country and tejano, and stop copying us in california and NY. freestyle's biggest fan bases were in nyc, miami, chi, and san jose, and it's still that way. who came out of texas among freestyle artists? none! lmao
