Trying to win against 5 brutal reaper 17 ai enemies in command and conquer 3 kanes wrath. Map is Tiberium Gardens 6 way. All brutals in one team, vs me. No handicap, 40000 at start.
It always amused me that GDI Firehawks could fly to anywhere on the map with Stratofighter Booster but the Scrin, the race capable of interstellar or intergalactic travel, had no such capabilities.
A military's capabilities is more then just simply technology available. It's also a matter of insight and general need for innovation. The scrin may never have encountered a civilization that necessitated the use of atmospheric boosters and so it's plausible they never developed having no need for them. Also you need to keep in mind that the GDI and Brotherhood of Nod are proper militaries designed to warfight whereas the Scrin expedition seen in C&C3 and it's expansion is largely a planetary mining fleet designed to harvest Tiberium infested planets. They do not represent the Scrin military proper.
The Scrin got blink-teleport and mind control instead. I'd say that's pretty advanced. Suppose humans knows more about our own stratosphere, yet aliens are masters of transdimentional-what-ever technology...
@@annmariedonnelly5781 They were literally responding to explain why that might have been the case. No one needed to ask anything, conversation doesn't just arrive by a single means.
"It's no use! it's just to dangerous" said an engineer trying to find cover behind a juggernaut's legs. "The orders are clear! we need to take those pods!" shout another engineer as he moves forward. suddenly the Juggernauts line finds another target, their massive guns pointing something over the hills. The sounds of those triple guns firing is deafening, as a wave of buzzards comes rolling down the hill. A rumbling could be heard from the back. A colossal tank suddenly took position as the engineers running up the hill taking the opportunity. A tripod opens fire to an engineer that has been running across the hill dodging bullets, shells, lasers and plasma from enemy and allies alike, seemingly ignoring a bigger threat that stood before them. A tripod suddenly stood, with a familiar color pattern. "He did it! Pull back!" shout another engineer. The tripod took multiple hits from different enemies trying to put it back down. Limping from the hill, the tripod manages to find the safety of repair drones. Countless juggernauts artillery fire and sonic wave blasting from what feels like eternity until silence took over. "This is our chance!" said the engineers as they scramble to reclaim the fallen tripods. Multiple pods can be seen rising from the ground, like an army of undead under a spell of necromancy. They quickly retreats, moving away before the next wave hits. The drones made a quick work of the newly revived pods and repaired them to full health, ready to join the defensive line. The guns on the juggernauts are moving again, spotting new threats over the horizon. As soon as the juggernauts firing on the enemies, the massive tank starts turning and firing left and right. It took a lot of damage but managed to reverse back into the safety of the juggernaut line to be taken care of by the repair drones. The juggernauts fired their massive guns as another massive wave of pods and other alien units started pouring down from the top of the hill, trying to force their way into the base. Multiple Firehawks could be seen took flight straight up into the stratosphere and disappeared from sight. Sonic waves makes quick work of infantry units that were brave enough to come close. Multiple pods started falling down, the juggernauts took them out really effectively. Another rumbling, as the juggernauts' guns no longer fixed on one spot. MARV, the colossal tank moves forward again, maneuvering between the pods husks and took position far up the hill. As the Firehawk squadron comes down from the stratosphere, the engineers scrambles to get as many downed pod husks as they can get. Before the engineers can reclaim the pods, juggernauts suddenly took position and aims their guns to multiple enemies. "This is too soon! We need to get those pods!" exclaims an engineer as he runs faster to get the furthest pods he can reach within the defense line. Explosions can be heard over the hill. "He is there alone?!" said an engineer inside the pods. As the pod stood up, the MARV marches forward, drawing enemy fire to itself. "We need to help!" said the engineer as he turns the pod around to assist the MARV. "No! we have been ordered to fall back! We can't lose these things!" said another engineer radioing in, "But he's alone up there!" said the engineer looking at the MARV fighting valiantly, shooting all of it's guns to all directions. "He's protecting us! He won't go back unless we do! Fall back, Carmen! That's the order!" shout another engineer piloting the last pods to be revived. "Go, I can do this kid." a heavy voice from his radio coming in. "Don't worry ab-" said the voice as it cuts off abruptly. Carmen already manages to reach the defense line and got his pod repaired by the drones. "Hello? Hello!?-" the engineer tries to call back. Carmen points the pod's tentacle to look over the hill to find the MARV has been disabled by some sort of EMP, rendering it unable to move or fire while taking damage from all angles. The MARV starts to crumble, fire started from inside its hull. Its guns stripped off from a powerful blast of another massive alien unit, bigger than the tripod. A final blast from an unknown source got through its hull, hitting the fuel cells. A bright light coming off over the hill where the MARV stood to protect its allies. Despair, anger and guilt rushes over Carmen. He went silent and took position to join the defense line, waiting for the next wave. P.S. That first MARV death was so emotional for me that I need to write this. RIP MARV o7. Sorry for this piece of trash, I'm not a native english speaker.
AtomicEggs OH you replied! Haha I never thought this would get any attention from anyone, let alone the OP himself 😅. Just wanted to say thank you for this playthrough. The way you play this was phenomenal, I played cnc games myself and NEVER had the nerve to play against 5 brutal scrin. And your thing with the firehawks was so methodical with the Strato Booster really fascinates me. Firehawk’s stratofighter booster is OP imo.
@@KieranReed729 Your comment (story) blew me away :D in never video i had won 1vs7 brutals and it was even easier for me :) choke point makes it possible ;)
1:28:45 - what follows is probably one of the most satisfying and beautiful moments I've ever witnessed in Kane's Wrath. No, seriously, I was smiling from ear to ear. Also, bit of a funny moment at 1:32:21. I love that brave unit in front of the MARV, trying to take it on and shortly after following it around while the titan annihilates its base like "bitch, NOTICE ME!!!"
1:21:25 pause quickly when he discovers all the units that were there so close together. He could have used the ION cannon on them. Many units would be gone + buildings, you could finish them off with some aircraft. Good job eitherways, winning against 5 brutal enemies.
I think you waste too much time and resource just to destroy rift generator by generator. You give your enemy to build new generator time by time. I suggest, when all the drift destroyed, you should focus on attacking the nearest enemy, left and right, to secure air, your way to attack your farthest enemy. However, the way you manage the defense is pretty good well managed. Another insight for me. Thank you.
no he should focus on destroying the main base and the war factory by using firehawks since he wasting so much time on destroying the superweapon again and again. loool
Nod overall has some of the best voicelines, but the MARV is definitely a step above the Redeemer (i think, been a while since I played) with just booming out "Size Matters" as it flattens a horde of alien walkers
Nice Run. However, against any other faction, besides reaper, the air attacks would have been much harder to deal with. PAC's and Dev's would be ridiculous. Firehawk and Orca raids would suck, and Nod's Bombers would be annoying. Luckily you chose the faction with just the basic air units.
Actually grinned when i saw you put the missle squads in the hammerheads, was ALWAYS my go to move to put troopers or missles in those, tanks EVERYTHING
Only takes 5 firehawks to destroy structures superweapons and construction yards, just thought I'd give you a heads up if you didn't already know...other than that, great video :)
A beginners question, but how do you do that formation thing where the units you select appear as 'ghosts' and you can line them up or make them travel to be in a block?
By the 24 minute mark, honestly I´m wondering where he is getting all his money from. The tiberium fields are long since depleted, and I think he only has one tiberium spike...
At that point i dont need money because i built everything i need, thats why so many ranked units because i dont loose them. Thats the only way to win cause brutal gets 4x money for each full harvester.
GDI VS Reaper 17 is like the ideal battle, because The cult of reaper's perpose is to eliminate anything that poses a threat to the scrin, and the global defense initiative is trying to push the away.
At the earliest possible time I would have taken out all the Tin Spikes around the map with my hammerheads. Due to lack of income this could have been over alot sooner...but awesome match with AI
To be fair this works even if you try 1 vs 8 by start making defences and just research damage and other extras for your troops then make a sizable force to do skirmishes/ambushes it might not be much but will confuse the ai while your heavy hitters will punch through no problem :3 at this point they would just spam because of panicking and loose resources XD
I don’t know how Kane’s rage differs, but I myself played on this map, more precisely similar to this one, against 4 most difficult bots and they had access to all military potential, including destroyers and planetary attack aircraft.
Looks like it is more safely for Firehawks to Stratofighter boost to near target, wait for boost reload, than attack and boost back. i.e. boost-wait-attack-boost is better than boost-attack-wait under damage-boost back.
Playing C&C since the first release, brutal AI it's very hard and they actually start building Devastators and Aircraft carrier make it impossible to manage with 3 of them keep attacking you from all the sides. That one sounds "Hard AI" not Brutal just because the waves are very bad even with 40K from the start.
Game by default is set on low or medium, can't remember, but it's a 2008 game, even if your new rig isn't cutting edge it should be able to run the game on higher settings.
The thing about command and conquer is if you destroy the enemy construction and vehicle factory he can not replace his buildings and if you destroy all production buildings he can not replace his units so you can wear him down with waves of your units!!!
If they were Traveller 59, you would have been a goner within 10 mins, and if you chose guirella, their bases would have been decorated with plasma batteries with shard launchers upgraded, and all your fire hawks will rain down from the sky 😧😧
I can see why you went against Reaper 17 because It would have been a nightmare between the devastator warships and the assault carriers against the classic scrin.
