i remember Daniel Henney when he first traveled from the States to Korea - just starting his career. He didn't know that much Korean at all. So he always played the harsh boss from America assigned to work in South Korea who falls in love with the female lead. He's fluent now and handsome as always.
Daniel Henney?
🇧🇷❤️🇰🇷🇧🇷❤️🇰🇷🇧🇷❤️🇰🇷🇧🇷❤️💪🏼🇧🇷❤️💪🏼
The one thing I notice is...he stays American. No adjusting for being in Korea. I change my personality when I visit Korea when I see my relatives. Kinda just act like how my cousins do (at least now. My first few visits I was very American).
How should he have acted? He greeted the others politely (which is Korean custom), he asked if they had eaten (another Korean cultural thing), he was worried that his lack of fluent Korean would look badly on the film and the other actors (another cultural trait), and he even did those silly mouth exercises Korean actors do before interviews. You grew up with a Korean family, parents but his dad is Caucasian and his Korean mom spoke English to him growing up. She was Americanized too. What do you expect?
