@@blitzer25blitz62 I find shooting laser at air unit are kinda wasted though, dunno why not use rocket since giga is originally have built in rocket in sea form, why not instal in sky form as well? :v
Yeah it used to fire in the other axis in uprising but somehow porting the unit to original ra3 bugged the laser. Also the harbinger gunship when ported to ra3 instead of circling around the target it instead do an 8-ball manouver
Allied: "We hired Correllian Engineering to build us a purpose-built battleship." Soviet: "We contacted the Techno Union and their contacts built us this powerful and menacing tank." Empire: "We contacted Cybertron."
After the damage test sequence, me: The Iron Fortress does the highest DPS. Making it a ground unit must be for balance reason, since at least it cant travel over water. Halfway into the video, me: Oh Sh**. This thing can swim? Anyway, it must be really vulnerable when on water. 5 Sec later, me: Speechlessly watching the Iron squid ramming ships.
the soviets designing their super unit: "sir! the allies' and empire's have formidable mobility! theirs can fly! how are we supposed to compete with something like that with the design developed from our good 'ol sickle!" "MAKE THE CRAB A S Q U I D"
You won me over with the Soviet Fortress aquatic mode. Really rounds out and justifies the design. I already liked the cannon effects and carrying-to-landing poses though.
Sutra Blue imo empire units are okay, especially when they are infused with nanobots, they become super strong, a T1 infused tsunami tank is nearly invincible combining the regen from nanobot healing and special ability healing. The empire feels weak because it needs better money protocol to keep up with other factions.
It seems like the Zeus struggles when changing to targets outside of it's range. There seems to be a rather lengthy delay from when the enemy dies and when it moves to the next, which is a shame because it absolutely slays when it gets there.
just like I said, to me Harbringer still lot better in term mobility, usability, and effectiveness. I still dunt understand why Knightvvv choose Kodiak over Harbringer. why not use them both?
@@SutraBlue Right. I always like the units like the zeus and harbinger that can fire as they pass by an area. When you have 4 of them and rip enemies apart in a few seconds is very satisfying.
@@cancersfinalform299 it could actually be interesting if each faction has not only one but two Titan Unit Allied: Kodiak + Harbringer Empire: Giga + Exxecutioner Soviet: Fortress + ??? What best new titan for soviet? Since soviet theme is iron defense, I gues its tank with high defense but...
So to put this shortly: Zeus Battleship is a lost cousin of the Terran Battle cruiser. Giga Fortress is just a big island fortress that can change into a floating head. Steel Fortress is like a huge Metal Zerg Ravager
C&C Red Alert 2 Remastered would be awesome, along with Tiberian sun. Its great that they remastered the originals I was born in 1997 so really never got the chance to fall in love with Red Alert but absolutely loved Red Alert 2, Yuris Revenge and Tiberian Sun. Oh and Command and Conquer Generals was so cool to!
So to compare; The Steel Fortress is the most effective against single ground targets thanks to its rate of fire and being a hitscan weapon, though it's more vulnerable since it can't use its cannons or missiles in water, even if it's submersible. And it ironically has the least health. Its anti air missiles have the highest fire rate and can hit clusters of enemies but since they are unguided a player microing their faster units can minimize the damage. The Zeus can deal more damage to groups of ground targets thanks to its spread of shots. It looks like it could use a buff given that it has to stop moving to fire and it tends to overkill on air units with its missiles continuing to hit the space the destroyed target used to occupy. I feel its missiles should work the same way as its cannons and only fire enough to destroy its current target and the rest move onto to a different target, because it doesn't look like it has an advantages against air units compared to the Giga Fortress. Maybe, I don't know if that shield ability compensates. The Giga Fortress can fire at air units while flying now. That looks a bit too powerful. The beam seems to hit them in a line instantly, even with its slow turning this will be instantly killing air to air units from outside their range. The Zeus and the Steel Fortress need some audio tweeking. The Zeus' volume is a little to quiet for me to understand most of its lines and the Steel Fortress is just hard to understand period.
Allies: The harbinger gunship is nice but, I just think it doesn't have enough firepower. I like this assault destroyer, and our airpower is pretty great. Let's put those two together? Soviets: You ever just think our tanks aren't big enough? The sickle is pretty good and the apocalypse tank is fantastic. Anyway we can combine them? Japan: Yo I just did LSD and watched anime for 3 days straight without sleeping and found this drawing I made of a flying head that shoots lasers. It's also a boat.
eh its the red alert serie. mad science has run rampant leading to things like there. to count: -The soviets have weaponized tesla coils (which would be impossible irl, you cant shoot lightning at a target just like that), as well as multiple mgnetic-based technologies -The allies have cryogenic weapons, miniaturizing rays, and flat out time travel devices. -The Empire developped nanotechnology, mechas, transforming units and psionic powers. really, its a setting that doesnt take instead seriously and RUNS on mad science (note that while this happens, the old conscript still only has a good old AK and molotovs). Considering that, nah these dont feel too alien.
The Zeus battleship got alot of potential to be an effective unit, because its damn expensive. That downside gotta have a good one in return and the aegis shield was not enough to compliment it's ability to trade off these problems, when I first used it on brutal AI they found a way to knock these things down. I built 3 and escorted with paladins and apollo, them this things dropped like flies when swarmed by tengus, I used the shield to retreat but it's not very effective. In the end stopped using them instead I used century bombers.
How about some RA3 mod spotlights? I would like to see the new Corona mod which is being made for like 2 years I think. ( Not a Corona virus joke BTW )
Can you share any links for the game , should it be downloaded form origin or is there any cracked offline version or anything at all, and the mods how can someone get them may I ask , thx in advance
I think zeus needs to be like a backline troop because its good for anti air, steel fortress is for tanks or late game land troops and navy in water, and giga fortress is for buildings and anti air in the water
Its nice that the requirements for the Giga fortress is based on money rather than ranking up during the game. That way you can get the super weapon in under 5 minutes from start.
I think the Zeus reminds me of the Terran Battle cruiser in StarCraft 2 (5:39) another thing I noticed, the giga shots horizontically Compared to uprising where the giga shots vertically. (6:16) and the giga fortress in its flying form in uprising can't shot air. (8:22) oh yeah, I saw this before. It can swim. (8:41) ouch! That's brutal! (9:18) oh so she can't instantly destroy it, I thinking it's the same with the giga. (9:57) yup.
i think the ZEUS shouldn't be classified as a Battleship but a Frigite or a Destroyer due to not having a very punching gun but thats just in my opinion
many satisfying and unsatisfying thing to me for Remix except for their Shogun Cannon ship (yes shogun ship is broken as hell, just spam 10 them is enough to sweep almost all land unit), Empire faction are kinda underpowered now comnpared to other 2 faction. Dunno why they didnt release executioner as well Oh there is new type of unit on remix actually Land unit, Air Unit, and (New) Submerge unit Submerge unit can attack sea unit but cannot be hit by normal land or sea attacker, can only attacked by submerge type as well or tower
But what I love about remix is, the modder is serious doing his job, every additional unit has their own original avatar, icon, effect and animation. Every animation effect is also made as natural as possible too. To me Remix is either 1st or 2nd place side by side with Corona, well I cant say anything since Corona mod has not been released yet. To put simply you can even think either Remix or Corona as Sequel to original work, this show just how promising these two mod is.
@@SutraBlue corona simply takes the cake just by looking at its trailer unit showcase and the fact that they did a whole faction from scratch (also they did minor factions for the existing ones like ra2 but i can't confirm it). Also i love the fact that the ships becomes actual warships with aa defence and anti-missile for each one of them
But yeah for an already existing mod, remix is the best. It manages to nail the chaos of the battlefield and multiplies it by 10 while still making it fun
So the Allies super unit appears to be worst overall. Unless I'm missing something, since it seemed to have lower performance compared to the other two
Seems that the Giga Fortresses' God's Breath Device Cannon, still has problems: In the Normal Mod: The cannon can effectively destroy surface targets that ARE LINED UP IN FRONT of the Giga Fortress, and will align itself in front of the target to destroy it- it cannot Aerial Units though While, on the REMIX Mod: It can SWIPE OUT targets from Side to Side, but cannot fire Frontwards unlike it's Normal Mod Counterpart: HOWEVER- the only time that it will fire frontwards, is when it attacks Aerial Units
it got balanced out by making it only accessible once you pick the level 5 protocol for it. So by the time you get the super unit, the enemy also can get their own
GDI walkers was much more effective and useful then this shame of the Soviet military machine, Oh Yes, I forgot, the Soviets only have old rusty scrap metal in their Arsenal.
Not sure how I feel about the Giga-Fortress being able to attack air units with its beam. It just makes the naval form worse than worthless. In naval form, Tanya can insta-kill it and artillery can target it, and the aerial form seems to have better AA damage that pierces. The naval form is limited to the water while the aerial form has no such limitation to its mobility. It kind of defeats the whole purpose of the Japanese transforming units.
What I hate in RA3 is how the AI refuses to attack my base unless it has more units than I can comfortably handle by stopping just out of the range of my defences then walking back
Yeessss, I TOTALLY AGREEED Actually its entire faction of empire is underpowered than before. GF protocol need tribute while other faction did not. GF shoot laser vertically which less effective than before GF dmg nerfed (damn) Wave tower atk rate is sh''t since they need charge before shoot, including first shot. (original ver first shot always instantly) Only Rising sun empire have no New unit, most additional unit of Empire is actually already existed in campaign.
They just spam unguided rockets at air units and it's very innacurate to the point that you can be across the map minding your own base and the stray rocket would still go across the screen
overall, the soviet one is the most vulnerable, being a ground unit meaning it can get pelted by artillery, bombers, cryocopters and a lower health pool than the other not really helping it.... but man does it have firepower for days, and while it surprisingly lacks the self-repair of kirovs and apocs (which are even mroe monstrous now, being able to use their magnet at the same time as their gun if not firing while on the move, and having a guided bomb as an active ability instead), the mod thankfully adds an advanced soviet air unit for on-field repair that complements the cannon crab very well. Also, a bit surprised the shogun executioner doesnt show up in that mod really. Then again I guess it wouldnt be all too good
First, Cryocopters can't do shit against "the cannon crab". Any air unit slower than Vindicator is obliterated by it. Second, Steel Fortress is the most durable ground unit in RA 3. The only thing it's really weak against is Athena Cannon, but you need a great quantity of these to actually pull something off.
@@user-sm6gn3nl6o i mean... cant a shrink ray be used on it before proceeding with freezing it? (At which point its dead meat). A lone cryo will die for sure, but considering the price of the darn thing id say you can afford to throw more than a single cryo at the problem while still being efficient with your money...
Why is it attacking sideways? I remember it can fire it's lazer straight through several target.. and why did you start it on its base form in one test!?
Ok time to get way too analytical, this is going to be long. First test Zeus: good against masses of units, worst against single units, has wind up, other comments say it attacks while moving. Giga: good against lined up tougher targets like tank lines, second best at single units, has wind up, needs to stop to attack. Fortress: best against single targets but can do so in rapid succession, does not have wind up. Second and third test have the same results. Fourth test (anti-air) Zeus still falls behind Giga can avoid interceptors by going to ground and bombers by launching, has middling AA ability but can collateral tougher air targets in air mode Fortress continues to be the best by having best damage of the three with rate of fire, damage, and area of effect. All have wind up to attack Fifth test (health) note: by very narrow margins Zeus comes in second ( but is the toughest when using its shield, but the shield is of little use overall) Giga has the most durability Fortress is the least durable Abilities Zeus: Activates a shield to temporarily protect the zeus, situational durability, emergency or spearhead option, with ability becomes the toughest of the three Gig: change modes from naval ship that’s a strong all rounder to ground and hard air target focused air mode, micromanagement options. Fortress: buckles down for increased defense, great for defending or parking in or near enemy bases to siege, useful when surrounded to minimize damage. Has dangerous amphibious mode that has a strong melee that kills everything in the water fast, immune to attack besides torpedoes and support powers while submerged. Conclusion Zeus: needs a buff to be of use, you don’t get an air unit to tank for your army unless your whole army is air, in which case the rest will outrun it. It’s firepower is the least of the three and requires air escort to survive. Steel fortress: RUSSIAN BIAS SO GOOD STALIN MAY CRY.
