I've listened to this piece played by many performers... John Williams, Christopher Parkening and others.... I was never exposed to classical music as a child... probably didn't hear my first classical performance until I was in the Army, almost 20 years old and even then didn't know what I was listening to... after leaving the Army in 1972, I enrolled in community college and after finishing my 2 years I transferred to a 4 year school.... I heard a young student play the classical guitar and I enrolled as an audit student in one of the guitar classes the music department offered. And for the next 4 years or so I took classical guitar lessons... I never amounted to much and eventually as I moved into adulthood I stopped... but the legacy of those classes was an appreciation and love of the classical guitar and the music and any performance ... because I do know what it takes to achieve a level of skill... ... to play as well as this young lady would have been my goal and I would have been happy to achieve this skill level... I appreciate the performance...bravo...
My teacher showed me this piece when i was 11 and i was in love with it since. Now i am 18 and after playing guitar for 2 whole years i can finally play this piece. What a great feeling. Your video is one of the best versions out there thank you.
You played this piece only after two years of playing guitar? It's impressive, since the tuning makes it hard to read the scores. I am 17 and I've been playing guitar for 4 years (only 1 year of classical) and I won't dare to touch this masterpiece until I have enough musical maturity. What was your learning method?
@@RitaColacoNuminous well there's not much method i use since i took only 9 months of lessons. I used both tabs and notes for this piece. And i listened to it a lot. I mean A LOT
@@JayleenInChains uuh thank you, that's useful :) I guess I'll learn that piece once I'm finished with the ones I'm currently learning. Which can take moooonths. I really should say, I am astonished at the fact that you can play the piece in this video with only 2 years of playing guitar, you might be a guitar genius.
Oh,Beautiful splendid performance, Thank you very much!! John Poppy 🕊️⛪🥀
i totally agree - a performance this beautiful is both an inspiration and a relief - inspires me to approach this level of expression and skill, relieves me that this piece has already been given the royal treatment by a master
Me, too. Who knew to listen to it that the 4th movement is easier to play than the second half of the third? That's the only part I have yet to completely dial in.
Bravissima Ekaterina, bellissima interpretazione. Io apprezzo molto anche quella di Pirai Vaca che consiglio di ascoltare (Very good Ekaterina, beautiful interpretation. I also very much appreciate that of Pirai Vaca, which I recommend to listen to)
wonderful playing - right up there with the Li Jie version, which I feel is the gold standard rendition of this piece. The pull-off section (around 4mins) is so precise, it's beautiful. I may be going mad but does anyone else hear some (very slight) tuning "problems"? It's noticeable when multiple open strings are played.
Perfect.!!!! It would be good to know if you are only using your thumb and index finger on the presto part? The other pieces are self explanatory. Thank you!
I think this is one of the best interpretations on RU-vid. It's always nice to see a pretty girl who are genuinely talented, especially when she can bring a masterpiece like this to life. Also.... RAWR
It´s kind of weird, for me, looking at this very first time it seems that she´s doing great at the song, but for those of you who already know this song, were able to catch all mistakes she made. But for me she´s still doing great.
I know the song quite well and I agree this performance was great. She had less 'feeling' than you'd expect with performers, but it was well executed. The guitar was detuning towards the end but I thought it made for an interesting dissonant effect.
