I think alot of it is mental too. The mind controls the body. Strong mindset can save you in that situation. But with bullets you never know, some people die 5 years later after getting hit. Best defense is making sure to not put yourself in that situation, but you never know what can happen at any given time. You could do nothing and still get popped.
