I just want to thank you. I studied the entire video to the end, made every app, tried every exercise, and made notes. I admit it took me about 10 days, taking breaks between lessons because I have a job and family. I had zero knowledge of programming or C++ at the beginning, and although I don't imagine I'm ready to start making amazing programs yet, I have a working ATM app and BMI calculator and everything else you taught us to make. I already have a career and don't plan to become a programmer, but I wanted to see whether I can learn to program and make something useful. Now I will look for how to continue my studies, but I'm very grateful to you for helping me start. Thank you very much.

There are so many languages you could have learned that would have been 10 times more accessible than C++ which in monstrously cryptic and un-necessarily complex. If you had watched a BASIC tutorial you WOULD be writing amazing programs after 10 hours.

If this video reaches only one person and really helps her/him I'll be happy and it will be worth the effort! Since the first day that I entered this industry, I couldn't understand people who were using their knowledge as a way to mock or laugh at someone who is just starting. There are truly intellectual bullies in this industry. And by intellectual bullies I mean people who are indeed smarter and have more knowledge, but they use that knowledge to be dismissive, disrespectful, mean, or emotionally abusive towards those who know less. Some people are not good at explaining, or they don't have time, and that is okay. But if someone is using his knowledge to make someone else feel bad or not smart enough, that person should not be promoted as a positive example, no matter how much he/she knows! I don't lose anything by sharing my knowledge. I'm not afraid that I'll be less valuable if someone else knows more. Moreover, if everyone else is better than me, that just makes me want to learn even more. And if I'm going to reach anyone who is starting in this industry, I'd love that person to know that it's okay to struggle and fail. Everyone who is great failed at one point, so don't let anyone/anything discourage you from reaching your dreams! If indeed this video reaches a lot of people, I'd love them to read this comment more than anything else!

@@TroenderTass In life, there are people who find happiness only in the smile, the joy and the success of others. And CodeBeauty is one of them. These are qualities that are very difficult to grasp nowadays: The tendency is to gain; By doing this, what do I gain? ... But she, on the contrary, adjusts her time to assist others; She understood that there is more happiness in giving than in receiving. This is precisely why I say that she is exceptional.

Programming languages are like human languages. You can say the same thing in (nearly) every language. On top of learning a language you need to learn the concepts that are common or widespread amongst all languages. In the end it's like telling a story: the language doesn't really matter if you can do a well thought out and structured story.

I am not saying this to deflate your ambitions to learn you totally should being a dev is an awesome career but to just give you some perspective about your future career. I was in sales and became a professional developer about 10 years ago and thought I would escape working with people and I was wrong - working as a developer still requires you to work with other people A LOT, collaborating with other developers, project managers, product owners and often times with customers. Best of luck with your journey.
@anon343

Yeah, as someone who works in Tech I also agree with Scott. You need to work with other people a lot in tech and honestly, some of them are pretty antisocial. So the best devs are those that are both good with tech and good with people because then they can get the best out of both. There is very few jobs where you will not be working closely in a team. Although this said, if you play your cards right you should not have to deal with the public, which is nice aha.

You will pass next time. I find that getting the area of focus from your school and then looking for videos online related to that subject is best practice. School professors are knowledgeable but aren't always the best teachers. Find a video source that works for your learning style. You have already taken a big step by coming here! Good luck!

So, I just started my computer science major two semesters ago, and last semester we were introduced to C++ and I was almost pushed to tears because our 'professor' wasn't helping me at all. EVERYONE else except me seemed to already have learned coding before and the teacher knew this and told us to 'help each other", which unfortunately no one did. I felt like getting into computer science simply because I love video games and wanted to learn and work in that sector was a huge mistake. So here I am, trying to learn c++ programming from scratch from a kind soul like you who are creating better help than college proffersors. I'm planning to watch do this course over a month and give myself time. That was a long comment lol but just wanted to Thank you again!

I am learning programming because I want to build robots and write programs for them. I know that this is the Python and robotics field, but knowledge of C++ will be a very helpful even at this, I guess My answers for some of the questions in the course: 1. Overflow - it'll became either MIN, or MAX possible value (depends on which side the overflow was on. In this example it has became MIN) 2. Normal text -> ASCII and back: #include using std::cout; using std::cin; int main() { /*cout > c4 >> c5 >> c6 >> c7 >> c8 >> c9 >> c10; ic1 = int(c1); ic2 = int(c2); ic3 = int(c3); ic4 = int(c4); ic5 = int(c5); ic6 = int(c6); ic7 = int(c7); ic8 = int(c8); ic9 = int(c9); ic10 = int(c10); cout
