The Panthers sent 14 representatives to the Ohio State Pro Day to get a first-hand look at potential first-overall pick C.J. Stroud yesterday. Stroud said he appreciated the big turn out from Carolina as their owner, general manager and head coach were all in attendance. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe discuss whether the Panthers are taking Stroud with the No. 1 overall pick.

If it was as simple as “just watch the tape” nobody would miss on draft picks as much as they do. But the fact is, a lot of these players have the potential to be greater than their college tape and others are going to be worse. That’s what makes picking so hard.

You got their point the tape tells you everything and pro day is useless just bring him in to your facilities if you want to look at him pro day is under perfect circumstances. The pro day and combine should only confirm what you’ve been seeing on tape it should only make how you place them on your board lower why the Richardson thing to me is super dumb if you had him as a high prospect it shouldn’t change because you know the potential he is just super raw why I think only a good team should take him and make him sit or if a bad team takes him don’t expect much it’s like I view hurts it’s going to take time and you have to know whether he will put in the work in the off-season because it’s all there only thing with stroud is to me he might be the safest but he had everything so I’m not so sure on that but Carolina can be really good in a year if they focus all in on offense because their defense is really good

I'm not sure of Bryce Young being a franchise QB for 8+ yrs. I feel he will struggle somewhat in the NFL and Houston once again is David Carr struck. @@adamhellard133 at most the SEC is 40% of NFL players it’s still tiers bellow the NFL talent wise most the best QBs for example didn’t even play in the SEC outside Burrow Dak Hurts Stafford. Mahomes Allen Lamar Herbert T Law A Rod Russ Kyler etc SEC is overrated cuz it’s usually 2 teams of Bama UGA LSU or UF dominating the other lesser SEC teams

Naw the SEC isn't filled with NFL talent, it's mostly on Georgia and Alabama. He goes to the Panthers and they're one of the worst teams and all the talent is not going to be on his team.
