I own a restaurant and deliver food and I concur. It’s amazing how many people are out walking, riding bikes and jogging when the weather is nice. We live on the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania and many boats out as well.
I'm starting to wonder why they're even demonizing the subject at this point. I'm sure the idea is to reduce the hysteria, but hysteria is already here. It's almost literally all I hear or talk about over the past week as things week. Most of it has been in a positive light, but I've been losing my mind doing research on where to find what and where. I finally did it, but I may think twice next time Cody says "you better start stocking up" (paraphrase).
I really hope that the "Age of celebrities" is coming to an end. This might be the catalyst that we need to make changes. I just hope that people will remember who was acting how. You have medical staff, deliveries, shops all open trying to serve the community and then you have celebrities bored in their multi-million mansions singing songs for the common folk. Could this be the fall of Rome?
I doubt it. The day of the celebrity will end when people stop fawning to them and stop patronizing them. I don't see this happening though. Entire industries have been built around this. For example: People Magazine and all the Tabloids.
I hope ..” made in America “ is the new standard, because of this. Bring jobs and production back. I hope people learn to save money and be prepared for whatever life brings you...great Channel 👍🇺🇸
Automation is the #1 cause of of job loss. Job outsourcing is nothing compared to automation and its just getting started. Also many products made in other countries are made there for a reason. Products are normally made in other countries either because its hazardous or requires a resource that isn't found in the US. Plus trade agreements are pretty complex. You can't just stop buying a product from China and not expect them to just say no problem. They'll most likely say OK but we're going to charge you more for something else you need. Besides the majority of the jobs that are outsourced are call center jobs.
Funny, i work in I.T. as a network engineer and i just recently bought a mill, lathe, and all the tools to make various bits and bobs i need or want. I found myself seeing folks say - "They don't make it like they used to" and well i decided - They are us and we are they, why can't i just build it like they used to... the designs aren't exactly secret. So far, so good but i have a lot of things to learn about here. With people learning to make the face masks and all that jazz are realizing they can build stuff as well. A lot of people are going to come out of this realizing they can do things and build stuff.
Cody this is one of the best videos you've done for a while, it's kind of like your older videos of you learning something for the first time and taking all of us along for the journey. I never realized you didn't have chickens, I guess that's the only aspect of my life where I'm one-up on you! They're fun but you'll definitely have to build on to that coup...like right now. That size is good for about 4-6 chicks. That coup will come in handy though when you have chicks in the future and you want to keep them away from the fully grown hens. Also, if you free range the chickens like we do, they will find ways into your barns, sheds, gardens, landscaping, and they are destructive so keep that in mind. It's something RU-vid videos didn't teach me. Anyways good luck, you can never have enough supplies and/or tools for an outbreak or apocalypse but you're prepared than 99.9% of the population. You and your family look happy and healthy so best of wishes for you to stay that way
I started watching you years ago when you were starting out with homesteading and I enjoyed your vids. You were living your dream, on the edge, it was real and you inspired me. I could really relate. There was a real spirit about you. Then your vids appeared to transition to Amazon gadgets and more pedestrian interests, distractions and the like. As this did and does not interest me, I had lost interest in your vids. However, with recent events, you appear to be back to homesteading, more connected and appear to be living more in alignment with your Raison d'être. Keep it up. I would say you are a real inspiration for many. Glad you're back. :)
In Australia they have doubled the price of what unemployed people receive here.its just over a $1000 a fortnight now which will help them an there local economy’s.a massive thing the government is also stressing here is we don’t have a food shortage or items shortage but we have a smaller population than The US,we only 25mill over here but today there were many people lined up at the benefit joint even the website crashed which can only handle 55,000 people on at once so just goes to show a lot of people here are feeling it
I have to think that there will be some manner of financial aid to employers to keep people employed and the paychecks rolling in some means. I'm not for welfare without limits, but this I think is a situation that warrants some means of economic aid.
WillieRants you’re right if no action is taken it all crumbles and there is no government nobody to be taxed so may as well hand out imaginary money until we recover some
Rob Webster we don’t get take out these days, just not worth the risk We have all we need on the farm. Unfortunately the waiters and waitresses are getting hurt. I do hope & pray this is short-lived with a quick economic recovery so all can prosper. Unfortunately that does not look like it will happen.
The U.S. is nearly 24 trillion dollars in debt not counting unfunded liabilities. There is no coming back from that it can never go down and will only continue to go up. The fed just prints our fake fiat currency at will. It's over it will never be the same, all I can say is people better learn how to hunt and gather because our government masters can't take care of us.
Cody: Just a word of advice...I would keep the young chickens isolated from the older chickens until they are grown up. And even then, I would gradually expose the two flocks to each other slowly (two separate runs next to each other so they can see each other, but cant harm each other). The older chickens will kill the younger ones. "Pecking Order" actually exists. I just don't want you to find out the hard way.
The beauty of internet is that it's basically an electronic library with the sum of human knowledge. How we use it is the difference. In times like this it comes really handy tho.
Here's a scenario, Internet goes down and becomes an unusable commodity (think apocalypse for want of a better description) How would anyone in 2,000 years ever know what technology we had now? The longest historical records we have are usually carved in stone... Not many paper, books etc last.
@@prdoohan We do have books talking about it, and we also have user manuals. At most, people of the future would miss things like twitter and tiktok. Not a great loss. xD
I live in a small town in north cali called Caloma. For us, life has changed. I have been struck by your videos so many times. But when you said there are no airplanes- perfect. Well here I am, 38 last week I ran the best place in town to eat, and now I’m with you raising chickens and teaching my boys. Thank you for keeping things grounded for me. Thanks!
It seems to me that the whole situation is what can be called "The Great Reset". Family becomes more important. the trivialities of life are shown as just that. Triviality. The world has, through one microscopic virus, changed. It will never be the same again. I am so impressed with Jack. He is a lad to be proud of. His new maturity is a joy to see. And the Sweetloaf. So articulate and inquisitive. She's a real darling. God bless you and yours, and all those people dealing with this situation. Stay safe, from Scotland.
It’s like in the novel “One Second After.” Losing the power grid didn’t send them back to the 1800’s because people in the 1800’s knew how to live in their own time. It sent them back to the 1500’s. We don’t know how to live in the 1950’s anymore.

@@KC9UDX yeah, but this infrastructure can be rebuilt in the western world, as most of the science is still available, i'm not saying it will be easy, no it would be a long walk but at the end we can see the light, we only need to arrange some international project's between the anglo-sphere & the european countries(to repeal china), i know that africa have still areas where french is spoken even today, spain contain sugar plants, norway have oil, denmark/sweden have wood and a lot of inventions, german is the world leader in building mechanical things, so there is no reason to become filled with fear and doom
@@fnym9rdsavsffdik9a25 it's not that simple. It would take two generations. It's not about fear. But it's going to really upset the majority of the population though if they have to get out of their cubicles and work to buy things that actually costs something in stead of buying Chinese junk from Amazon. Don't underestimate what it takes to start back up all those giant factories that aren't downtown anymore in every American city. It was very easy to get to that point before. It won't be now.
95% of people would not have a clue how to produce their own electricity - 98% couldn't build a basic steam engine if they had to - and almost nobody knows how to find ore and smelt iron - that puts us back to the stone age.
I would recommend a chicken tractor for your permanent coop. We use them and it allows us to move the coop easier. It also gives the hens fresh ground to turn and dig for all the insects and grubs. There are lots of videos on RU-vid that helped me with my decision.
lightningphil100 that was easily the most educated fact ive heard throughout this whole pandemic. Everybody said the media is fake. Comon guys listen to lightingphil!
Awesome seeing you and your son work together. Your non-verbal communication when running the tractors, you teaching him how to make the frame for the chicken coop. I spent the weekend cutting up trees that came down over the winter into 20in lengths to split for firewood. My 7yr old son was right next to me helping and learning. Great job Wranglestar and family.
Cody and Jack's father-son bonding building together something to help them become self-sufficient, Mrs. W's constant smile and Sweetloaf's 10 year in advance vocabulary (and her adorably hitting herself with the mallet), this is why I love this channel. God bless!
I'm about to be a dad for the first time, due in August. Nervous of what that looks like in a few months... I've heckled you on here a bit over the years, but seeing the way Jack has grown and is stepping up in the most recent series of videos gives me hope. The things you teach, and the way you teach them, hard-work, discipline, and a good attitude. This is what we all must get back to now, more than ever, I truly hope society shifts to emulate more of this. And less of whatever the last 20 years have been.
I must say, watching you interact with your son always makes me realize how much I wished for my own father to have been more like you. I mean, I'm 26 these days and well past needing a father figure to that extend, but I was just never really taught or showed anything as a child or teenager and we never really bonded through any sort of activity either sadly. We were never hungry and had everything we could've ever wanted materialistically, because my father did work a lot and always cared for us in that sense, which I'm of course thankful for, but there's a lot more to being a father and he really struggled with that, perhaps because of how he was raised by his father. I just hope, I can maybe be a better example to my own children one day and give them more than just a handful of memories to look back on, where we did and experienced something together and just enjoyed time.
I'm so grateful that channels like yours and the homesteading/prepping community exsist online. Had this been 5-10 years ago, we wouldn't even have as much access to that. It would have made getting information to prepare for something like this on a moment's notice even more troublesome.
Currently deployed to South Korea, the virus is getting pretty bad out here as well. They have us on 24/7 gate guard screening all the workers coming onto base for virus symptoms, etc. Just hoping the whole thing blows over. God bless you and your family.
Yes I do like the quiet before the storm. And I very much enjoy watching you and Jack work, you have a good relationship and are both fortunate to have each other.
I'm a 51 year old that's been living alone on a 50 acre Southern farm for some years now. This virus really isn't even inconvenient for me. I do have fun on social media because of it, the memes are really going lately.
I hear you I live in the middle of a desert in a town of 50 people 70 miles away from the city closest to me my we have no police and one volunteer firefighter...... life 100% has not changed at all for me.
I converted an 8X8 shed into a coop, then built a 6X8 addition for feed & equipment storage. All up on blocks so nothing can hide or nest under it. Had the small temporary coop for quail with a rabbit wire on the floor, but it sadly that cut up their feet, & I began seeing blood, & swelling in their feet. The slider door warps before long, then won’t close. Had to get them out of that asap! But it was a good starter coop for sure! We free range our chickens, & have them trained to return to the coop to get locked up at sunset every night.
"we'' have become fat, lazy, and dependent on others and other country's doing our jobs for us. Now, it's coming back to haunt us in a way. In the past, families have failed and its affected lots of people. Morals have changed drastically, and its coming around to bite us in that respect. We have totally gotten away from the core of our existence the basic family life. I have been seeing this for years, i've talked with others about it, and asked what would they do? Well, its here, you know what, i'm 72 going on 73, i've lived in the best of times, enjoyed my life, and my family. I'm not rich, i'm a blue collar worker, labor, type of guy, hands on.The younger ones, are focused on ''toys'' its sad to see. But, lets not focus on the bad things, look at the good things that can and will come out of this, not to mention the changes that will be made to make this United States great as it was before this happened. The big thing, Lean on GOD, Pray, this is going to make the biggest difference in my opinion. I told one of the guys in the church we both attend, that we should be making plans to expand, the size of the church, no doubt, there's going to be whole lot more'' believers in GOD'' some day, sooner than later.
It's sad to say this and believe me, I understand the times are getting tougher on everyone, but man, I'm glad the homesteading videos are back. I wasn't very big on all of the Amazon vids, etc. But the back to basics vids like the previous years...I'm glad to see them returning. God bless y'all.
The thing i dig about your videos Wranglerstar, i used to visit my gramps as a kid and every morning on the weekends we'd go to the barn, he'd rustle us up some breakfast over a fire, we'd eat, and then he'd say "lets make a plan pal." And every day would be spent in the barn wood working, we built several chicken coops and several pigeon coops as he was a pigeon racer and he used pigeons for funerals in place of doves. Much love.
Cody - I've been a subscriber for years now and have never commented before. I enjoy your content, your knowledge and your love of family. I'm a 27 year (15 years undercover) retired law enforcement agent and just want to warn you of something I noticed. You carry your Midland at center back. I understand that this makes the radio easy reach for either hand, but if you ever go down hard on the back it can cause serious injury. Just food for thought and hopes you and the family stay healthy. God bless.
19:23 I wish I could say you're right, but I'm afraid you underestimate the propensity for humans to forget bad memories. When my family lost practically all of our material possessions in Hurricane Katrina, I learned that things are unimportant and people are what matter. I was a much more kind, loving, caring, and giving person than I had been before. And I was absolutely positive I'd never go back to the materialistic selfish person I had been. But I look around me now and realize somewhere along the way, I've reverted to putting an unhealthy premium value on my own comfort. I am sure some will be forever changed by this pandemic, and some for the better. But I'm afraid most won't be permanently changed at all.
Great perspective Cody. I was raised on a farm where we grew pretty much everything. Veggies, fruit trees, nut trees, grapes, berries including elderberries, strawberries. Chickens for eggs and we processed our one chickens and pigs. Had a milk cow. Ground our own cornmeal. Raised corn, soybeans, oats and hay. Etc... as a kid I did the work and took it for granted and thought if it as work as most kids would see it. I later in my 20’s got a job and got away from the farm life, thinking that was the way to go. I am now entrapped in a job working for the man. My goal was by the time I reach 60 I want to go back to that type of lifestyle. I still have the farm that my grandpa started and my dad lived his entire life on. I know what work is entailed in getting back to that lifestyle. I wish I would have started sooner........
I really hope it makes things simpler again and a lot less of that SJW stuff, but I worry about what government policies might permanently take hold after its over like WW2 did.
Eh, what you might think is SJW might be common in other cultures. I'm Eastern Band Cherokee, and the oldest woman is the head of the family and owns the home. The children all have her clan. We have four genders overall, which those who live as women are all considered women. This is easily 11,000 years old, as long as we've been in the Great Smoky Mountains. We're still tough as nails Appalachian people, but we aren't as closed off as the settler minds are. You better believe that I'd be livid if someone is mistreated for their gender expression, because that's not how we EVER did things. If we can do this and survive epidemics and a government removal, you can learn to accept it
@@blackcitroenlove sadly these ethnocentric conservatives are too set in their ways. It's refreshing to hear a native American voice in a comment section full of intolerant people who industrialized your land and claim to be true Americans. I actually learned about the "two spirit" gender identities in my sociology class recently, and I thought this spiritual acceptance of gender really highlights how relative these social constructs are. It pains me to hear Cody say that he hopes feminism will quiet down, as if the oppressed fighting for their rights are to blame for the dystopic realities of a patriarchal capitalistic society designed to benefit those stealing the means from laborers and exploiting natural resources.
While everyone I know are losing their jobs, I was just hired at a local greenhouse to package lettuce. This is a job I've wanted since I found out they were building it 2 years ago, and now, when people think everything is falling apart, I finally get the call to come in. The last year has been nothing but good for me and I knew if I stuck it out through the little rough patches(this one included), accepted the charity of my loved ones, and just waited for things that I didnt really have a way to nudge, I get what I needed and some of what I want. I had to walk away from so much of what was comfortable and normal in my life, but it's all been worth it. Things will change bc of everything that's going on, some of it will be really bad, but it'll pass. I always enjoy your channel, and it's always so inspirational. Please don't stop.
I've had the strangest last 2 weeks. I feel like I've been spending like my life depended on it. Bank account is better than normal. I got an interview for a promotion today. Nailed it (to the best of my ability). I'm quickly realizing some of my toxic habits, work performance and daily life are slowly diminishing as I'm looking at the bigger picture. Finally. You'd think I'd have figured that out after 27 years of type 1 diabetes.
Thank you for still making videos! It helps us keep a sense of normalcy in times gone mad and I know I sure do appreciate you for that! My family and I are in the country in a similar situation to you, and I thank God every day for His blessings He's provided!! But, I worry for the unprepared masses in the city. May God keep you and yours safe and bless you in these trying times!!
I really feel that the 1950’s house hold needs to a comeback to a certain extent it can be a happy and healthy home like that and I think that both the husband and wife be if it form that kind of structure
Depends, doesn't help when a woman stays with a man out of necessity, not a pleasing situation, i would like to see wages return to a place where one person can support their family on their own income.
I was born in the 1950’s ‘ and I can tell u there was nothing romantic about it back then ‘ what with poverty and tuberculosis ‘ an little or no work except for the boat to England to work on the roads or buildings’ u were given a pick an shovel and set to work for little pay ‘ at the end of the day u went back to a cold bed sit or maybe to the pub if u had a bob left after sending home money to the family in Ireland to try and make ends meet ‘ England was a very lonely place to be for people of rural Ireland ‘ when people talk about the fifties this is what I see
Your channel is the first media I watch each day. If you haven’t posted, I’ll watch one of your older videos. The mannerisms and tone you present create a calm moment for me and I thank you. Good luck on your chicken and cow adventures. I’ll keep watching and most importantly learning from you and your family. The social distance has been easier for me. I used to deploy on coast guard ships (25 yrs service)for weeks at a time without being able to walk on land. Now being retired o I’m deploying some items I’ve learned including using my chainsaw which happens to be cleaned after each use as in your saw maintaining videos. Thank you.
I completely get it.. we are in for major changes. New Zealand is about 48hrs away from lockdown. At my industry, now is my time.. I am in tech support, and am now spending much of my time setting up remote support for our organisation. In 24hrs I will be working from home, later will be out time.. those of us who have other skills, more practical skills that can help our families and others though these hard times. We all need to be prepared not only to use our skills, but to share them also so our communities can do what they need to to pull through this. All the best to you and your family, Cody.
Cody - When you're at a place with the homestead prep, where you can take your foot off the gas a little... I think you and Mrs W should write a book on how to raise a child. Jack is a brilliant young man, and Sweetloaf is just beyond special.
Well said Cody, we just picked up 14 chicks ourselves, and I'm planning on a new design for a chicken tractor. I'm soo thankful and blessed that I moved my family to Rural Idaho. My time spent working in technology is going to change drastically in the future. Just wish I had a couple of draft horses on hand.
Thank you for your prayers, being stuck in the city and near Portland and Vancouver and having a father working in medical care in Portland is a little worrying because we don’t know what all he is exposed to and we don’t have a lot of food saved or a emergency plan to become 100% self sufficient. But we have learned to trust god in all things, and remember that the deciples that went out to speed the word of god had nothing, and depended completely on him. I don’t know if it helpes you guys but I helped me.
Cody a small baby barn 10' x 10' is a great size- divided inside 6' x 4' or so is a great coop- gives you space for hen and storage for food and suff and as big of fenced in run out side will keep them happy and safe when not wondering the yard.
A virus that has already killed thousands and will kill thousands more being explained away as god trying to heal the earth and make people realise what's important while apparently being all loving. Yeah theres nothing there that could make you suspicious of religion
My life on our property is the same...I take care of my family, my farm, my animals and avoid making trips to town...business as usual. Now my wife works at the hospital...believe it or not..they are laying folks off that work in the operating rooms.....this too shall pass, hopefully it pulls the country together in fellowship
My sister was working post-operative care. She was out of work for about 5-6 months. Not doing any elective surgery. She was happy 😊 about it. $4,200 a month to not work on unemployment. I’d take that lol.
I'm from the uk. Yesterday was the first time I could hear birds singing in the city centre I was working a 12hr shift and it was the most peaceful shift I have ever done. Almost stress free.
I predict CHINA distancing will happen big time! American's are learning a Lesson that has been coming for a long time, I hope GOD will bless us and get us thru this.
I'd move in to be your neighbor in a heart beat. You are very inspiring and I appreciate your videos. I'm a younger modern techie that has recently moved into the middle of no where and is trying to figure out how to manage being more self reliant for my family. Keep up the good work, you might be the most prepared in the entire country.

10:30... I think it's changing for the better. The "soft" people will learn that the things that makes them so enraged now will become trivial and they will toughen up.
I strongly agree with the message that you shared. It gives me an amazing amount of hope that families will get back to the basics and remember what really matters!
Not that I wouldn’t rather be living on a homestead but living in New York City and working having a job that requires me to work everyday through this I can confidently say food is not an issue, power is not an issue, nor or there any signs of them becoming an issue. The biggest issue is capacity in hospitals and that capacity is in the process of being greatly increased. As a whole we will get through this just fine. We’re still in the beginning of this but I feel we as a country are in a very good position to handle this.
You guys have been pretty well ready for this for quite a while. It hit at such a bad time for me because I was about to buy my first house and start my chickens and orchard ... where I am now I’m probably already pissing off the HOA with just my garden and container trees so chickens are out of the question. I’m hoping this calms down ASAP and I can get into my home and start building these systems for sustainability.. I’m mirroring as much as I can of you lot because I think you’ve been preparing the homestead for self sufficiency for a long while but I won’t have near the same land .. thanks for everything Cody
Friend, Your comments at the end of Your Great video are well spoken. I am 79, was raised in the era You speak about. You, my friend, are so fortunate to have a place where You can choose to raise chickens and have a cow. Many of us are so land poor we barely have room to turn around. I live in a retirement community with almost 100 housemates; most of us have the skills You are now having to learn. When this lock-down ends, (and it will, have faith), we will be available to share our knowledge. I have greatly lamented the waste of knowledge just sitting in this, "ole fart warehouse," each year we lose 5 or 6. Alas, knowledge lost!!! We do have 12'X14' decks here at our residence that can be used to grow things, currently we grow mostly flowers; but can easily switch to growing food. We are switching over to a mixture of food and flowers as I write. Our Lord is still in charge; prayers are being answered.
I was diagnosed with the flu Friday before last and the doctor told me to stay home for five days. My boss told me to stay home the whole week. So I'm on day nine. I've been right there with you. Tomorrow I go back to work and I'm kinda nervous to go house to house (I'm a service plumber) and risk bringing this mess home to my family.
If you can, try get some rubbing alcohol and put it into a spray bottle. Spray yourself down before getting in your personal car and heading home. May not be the best thing on the planet but from what I gathered, it helps a bit.
Thanks from Western Canada. Good to see people with there heads on straight. My parents grew up during the 1930s depression. It seems a lot like the stories I grew up with now.
I work at Cabelas selling guns and the gun sales have gone up 300 fold... but the scariest part is the amount of people buying a gun for the first time! The last thing we need is a panicked person that doesn’t have any knowledge of using a firearm, having possession of one 😰 #wranglerstar
I could be in the minority in this, but I don't think this pandemic is going to have as big of an impact on us as some seem to think. IMO, it's a temporary reset. Yes, our lives have been impacted, some more so than others. However I think that for most people, when all of this is over, everything will go right back to where it was. But, we'll see. Only time will tell.
It's fundamentally a medical issue and people involved in the medical profession will learn lessons from it and apply those lessons in the future. My background is structural engineering. I specialized in design for earthquake zones. In my profession we all go rushing to wherever the latest earthquake happened, so that we can see and study the damage. Then we apply what we learned to future buildings. The result is that our buildings get more reliable and more technically sophisticated over time. They become safer. And the person in the street can give less and less thought to how their buildings are made, because we're taking care of that. That is how our society has been evolving for centuries. The result is a food supply that is more reliable than it has ever been in human history, access to quantities of energy never before known, instant global communication, and an amazing freedom from so many diseases that killed people when they were young... The system still has its weaknesses. Every chain has its weakest link. Earthquakes and pandemics reveal those weak links. Then we take the new knowledge and forge stronger replacements. Link by link the chain grows stronger with each generation.
I was going to leave a very similar comment. My company has been deemed an essential business, so aside from my wife now working from home and not getting to spend in-person time with friends, my life has changed very little. I think it will all depend on how bad it gets and how long it lasts. Here in Alabama, it took a long time for it to kick off (or at least for people to get tested and confirmed), so we are just in the beginning, but I can't really see it changing most people's fundamental outlooks. I hope it does on some levels, like maybe taking peoples opinions as just that unless they actually have experience/expertise in an area and not just following them because they're famous, but I don't see that as very likely. Maybe people will get used to spending more time together or going on walks, though. That'd be a good start.
I grew up in the fifties. It was a wonderful time. My brothers and sister and I spent all day outside, roller skating, bike riding, playing horseshoes, shuttle board and generally chasing each other around. When we got thirsty, we drank from the garden hose, and when we were hungry we would grab a piece of fruit from one of our many fruit trees or a handful of grapes from our grapevines. All the neighborhood kids played together and neighbors had baroque’s together on weekends. We did not have any extra money as my father was disabled from war injuries and was unable to drive or work. Our income was the check he received each month from the government. But we had what we needed. And thanks to my father, we had the prettiest yard on the block. We were thankful.
Thanks for all you do sir.. stay safe. Your sons growing into a solid young man. I remember watching your videos when my 8 year old son was born. Much love from Michigan.
Its awesome your willing to share your family experiences with the world. Many of us can only strive to be a man like wranglerstar. The little kiddo is so cute. Youve got one solid wife. Stay well wranglerstar family. Stay grounded in Love. Much love.
we are beginning with chickens also. self reliance in the mountains during harder times these days seems to be a healthier way. we help our neighbors by supplying eggs. we also cut our own lumber from our land. good videos ....thank you
I think its great that he is prepared and ready but all these things have to be produced and shipped what if these people that are producing and shipping allthese goods said im not going in to work today im gonna buy some beans and hold up in my house for a month or four. That homestead life is good and all but lets be honest this country dont run on homestead we cant all go live on a farm the economy needs new york city , la, chicago, houston seatle and other citys those are the economic powerhouses that make this country tick also big agriculture what if all these people just said f#÷% it let me worry about myself where would this country end up how would this country end up i lve in new york city and i can not go to work tomorrow if i want i own my house i got money and i got food but what kind of man would i be if i didnt go out and do my job to help this country my country get through this sorry i aint got time for homesteading right now i got more important and meaningful things to do All i am is saying with this big ol rant is props to him. But give props where props is due so props to all yous out there with your nose to the grind stone
I don't understand why his preparedness is an over reaction. If anything he's taking the burden of his family's needs off a system that will be under pressure to maintain the norms. Sure the supplies are fine now but that's assuming this only lasts two weeks. Again who knows but to me it's like wearing a life vest, if I don't need it then everything went well.
@@jeffreyc9183 because not panicking is a virtue and the socially correct thing to do. If I panic you'll panic and then the neighbor will panic and so on. As of right now the situation is worrisome but certainly not to the point where we must start searching for dairy cows and growing wheat in our backyards, that's just nuts man!
Him prepairing is not an issue at all its just that it takes alot to run this country And there are people out there right now working for minimum wage or little more to do things like make masks and gowns and in food production plants these people are going out every day to work using mass transit and puting themselves in situations where the way things are going they will eventually get sick Right now these are the important people the doctors and a lot of other people doing other stuff what if all these people said not me im not gonna catch no virus forget the masks and gowns and resperators and food productio and forget everything im gonna stay home and isolate myself How would the country run how would we stay competitive everybody cant run and hide some of us have to keep things running and those people right now are more important than him and his chickens cause he aint doin nothin for you. But those other people are What he does is good for him and his family and thats great. All im sayin is that there is some poor shmuck out there workin in a factory makin something we need right now or better yet something he needs right now on acouple of days youll see a video of somethi g he ordered. Where do these thing come from thin air no someone has to make em and deliver em and in doing that there putting themselves at risk these are the people that are important right now i g o t nothing against this guy i just think right now there are more important things
I have a family of four and keep around a dozen chickens. That is plenty of eggs. Most days I'm trying to give them away to friends. Look into the high litter method and you'll be thankful. I clean my coop (which is basically a 6x6x8ft tool shed with vents and doggy door cutout) about once a year and there is no smell at all. They compost up the litter and then each spring it goes in the garden. I wouldn't do it any other way.
I disagree. You put too much faith in people. Things will go back to normal because people will forget just like they forgot 911. I believe this is just practice for what's coming.
There have been many things I have learned over my 45 years of life. Many people ask " What good will that do you, you can just go to the store and buy this, or order it online" or "you can have someone build it for you" Those are the ones I worry about. My wife is starting to see the value of my knowledge and has made comments about it. As one of my shop supervisors said to me " I've done so much with so little for so long I can practically do anything with nothing." I recently stated that "Those "poor" people so many look down on may be the ones that save your tail in this mess." Best wishes to you, your family and friends Cody.
We built our coop on 4x6x16 for skids, with eyelets on both ends, framed entire thing out of 1x4 15 years ago and we move it one or twice every year, half coop half cage under one roof it's amazing how strong 1x4s are if done well, we free range them in about a quarter acre paster during the day, oh also make sure on all four corners drive t post to tie it down, we do it to the eyelets, then pull if you move it
Chris Rakisits I don’t think you’d say that if you really researched it. That unrest got pretty ugly, it wasn’t just flowery speeches and peaceful protests. Also the Cuba Missile Crisis would be just a decade away, easily one of the scariest times to be alive in modern human history.
despite the negative aspects of this corona virus stuff im really happy with the direction the channel is taking. ive always been a big fan and have probably watched all of your videos and i enjoyed everyone one of them (even when i was lost) but seeing your channel focusing more on animals and gardening is a big plus. God bless you and your family and be safe.
Hello. I give you an idea for the predators. You can use a simple radio. You just choose a channel with some music and keep it playing. I have use this idea for my neighbours chikens. The fox have stollen five chikens. after this system, there is not one chikenn lost.
A radio set on a timer works good. I know someone who used to do that when I was a kid. We never did we went with a Leghorn rooster who was a real fighter.
Hi Wranglerstar. I think what you said about this reminding us of what is important is so true. I've traveled a lot and done international aid work and been to truly poor parts of the world. Every time I've come back to the US I've noticed how misaligned our priorities are here. Food, shelter, family and community are more important than gadgets, selfies, the rat race, politics etc. This time seems to be shedding light on that and I hope we all remember what is truly important in the months and years to come.
This is the Lord reminding people, giving them a wake up call, a reminder that we humans are not in charge. God is showing everyone he is in control. All these new legislations by different governments and contries, defying the law of God, he had to step in. God Bless you and your family. Plenty to in social isolation, I can watch your videos all day!
Daniel Glenn... I always liked the quote “If God doesn’t judge America then he will have to apologize to Soddom and Gamorrah.” - Billy Graham I think the whole world is guilty though. God is fully in charge and true believers WILL be taken cate of despite the bad times. God loves his own! Notice it is places like Iran and China getting the brunt? For a reason I think!
