comparing floats is always a problem, as you pointed out 0.1 in a float could be due to the way floats are stored 0.99999999999999 or 0.0000000000001. I often just do a subtraction and if they are within a defined limit then they are the same. so a result of zero +/- 0.00000001 would mean they are the same. Works for what i need to do with floats.
