What a pleasant person. I'm from Pakistan living in USA for 35 years. I'm fan of C Ramchanda. I like the songs composed by him like "Kat tay hein dukh mein din pehlu badal badal kay" and my most favorite song is "Kaise aaun jamna kay tir". I've heard this song hundreds of time but I still love to listen this song again. May God rest his soul in peace.
Excellence is not by accident . C Ramchandra’s distinction can hardly be matched. No body has lived for ever but if our Creator had intended to make an exception for some of His creations, the C Ramchandra may have made that list. Aadhaa hai Chandrama raat aadhi...kya classical geet hai. I live in Canada and I feel after listening this geet that whole India is around me. My childhood, that Yamuna river. Ramleela aur Janamashtami ki ratain/nights uff sab Mano mere kareeb ghoom rahe ho. Now I know why my Nanajee use to hear K.L.Sehgal in his old age. Its a therapy, a time machine, a nostalgic.

I Only knew C Ramchandra was Great Composer of many unforgettable songs like, "Waton ke logon" and famous for Music of Film Anarkali ( have an LP, Hemant/Lata''s evergreen duets) but wasn't aware he himself is a very good singer and a humble gentleman. Adha hai Chandrama we heard in Manna's voice since childhood, Here, the presentation of the composer is also no less.
This song in the film Navrang is probably my favourite from C Ramchandra's music direction catalog. Well acted by Mahipal and Sandya dancing while balancing 8 pots on her head.

"Radha na bole" is such an ethereal composition. Firstly, the tune itself is so much captivating, added to it the playful, expressive rendition by Lata ji. Thank you C. Ramchandra ji for such melodious gems.
@@aparnasarang2412there are many memorable songs composed by him.. But for me two of them stand apart. 1) o chand jahan woh jayee from movie sharda 2) mera manka bhawra panchi from movie Amardeep.. The highlight in these two songs is romantic,scintillating and memorising use of dholak..
As far as I remember, he learnt music under late Bhaskar Buwa Bakhle. Bal Gandharwa a prominent and famous marathi stage artist acting female roles was also Bakhle's student. But not even once C.R. is acknowledging his Guru. Surprising is it not?

I saw Anna singing "ae mere watan ke logo" in Tabassum's programme "phol khile hain gulshan gulshan" and the jovial Tabassum could signed out the programme with tears in her eyes - without any words, speechless.
Vinod Nayyar ji, I totally agree with you as I also remember having the same programme named Phool khile hai gulshan gulshan on Doordarshan may be in mid 70's conducted by Tabassumji.
Never have I heard such honest talk coming from a music director of India.What a gem of man he was,even men like SD Burman would seek his counsel.The shrewd interviewer wanted him to nominate Lata but avoided him.Besides Albela ,he would always be remembered for Insanyat,Azad,Paigham,etc.He is immortalized by just one song....Ai mere watan ke logo zara ankh mein bhar lo pani.. .....Hats off to this legend.
There are no words for praise of late C. Ramachandra . One of the Greatest Music Director and Singer of our united India. He was a gem. A simple person. I salute him and pray to Allah Almighty for resting his soul in peace.

Not just film songs, the highly popular patriotic song "Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo", which was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and penned by poet Pradeep, was a composition of C Ramachandra! Great human being, simple, sober, but a superb singer and composer. I think his voice matches with Talat Mehmood. In my college days I lost a bet with my friend bcoz of this similarity. Kitana hasi hai, mausam kitana hasi safar hai, sathi hai khoobsurat from Azad , i was sure it's sung by Talat, and I ultimately lost. Thanks Ramchandrji for giving us many moments to cherish.

After hearing him I realize how Talat could strike each and every node with perfection, if the singer is given clear brief, clarity of mind the job becomes cakewalk. The devotion, the command, the knowledge - each and every aspect is mesmerizing
True. Anarkali's producer wanted Naushad or some other music director but due to some reason it didn't work. Last couple of weeks, it came to C Ramchandra. People won't believe but 7 songs he composed in record time of 3 Hrs. 2 hours in train from recording studio to director's house and one more hour from director house to his house.

He was truly exceptional and known for giving tunes to lyrics in record breaking time. Anarkali(1953) , producer came to him and requested to give tunes in short time. He took the challenge. He used to travel by Mumbai local train. From Churchgate to Goregaon and then later one more hour, you won't believe, he gave tunes to NINE(9) songs out of 11 total songs. Imagine giving tunes to 9 songs out of 11 in just 2 hrs.
I used to listen to a lot of All-India radio in my teenage, so a lots of names like C. Ramchandra, O.P Nayyar, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Naushad etc., were only known to me by that. It is so pleasing to see C. Ramchandra in this video for the first time. Such simplicity and great sense of humor.

Wow! I was in UK in 1978, I vividly remember this BBC TV program of C. Ramchandar Sahib. A great musician and a fearless critic also. He did express his views on the state of Indian film music in a magazine which were not very popular. But I always admired his straight forwardnes, his simple but pure music. A great man!
So humble still so straight forward and spontaneous in his attitude, C.Ramchandra jee possesses a childlike golden heart. He does not hesitate in admitting his mistakes and even the wrongdoings he has committed. Still possesses the lustrous and Talat jee type velvety voice at this advanced age so much so that he does not miss a single 'murki' in his delivery of songs. Great singer, great musician and above all a great personality. Salute you, sir.
