Got this error after opening up a friend's pc to clean dust out. I tried the "Recommended" system repair and it didn't work. Tried this and bam! Worked.

Another easy thing you can do is boot to a command prompt with the Windows 7/8/server disk and run chkdsk /r /f on the C: drive. You could also pull the drive, and place it in a usb enclosure or slave it in a desktop and run checkdisk /r /f. Always backup your data before in case the drive is in a state of degradation and beginning to completely fail. Nice music at end of video!!

we were re-installing Windows on a laptop and could not get Windows to run, and this was one of two error codes we had encountered. We did not expect your solution to work as assumed it was necessary to be in a loaded Windows environment - but it did! After pressing F8 a number of times I tried to get the system on again and everything went as it should. I figured maybe it clears memory, but whatever - it worked. Thank you! :)

Mine has no last good image unfortunately, if you dont have a save state image then I assume the laptop is scrap.

I was in the middle of a clean install and got this error. The PC (a compaq) would not restart nor boot from USB where I have the new win7 to install. By doing this the install resumed where it left. Thanks!

You can try Last Known Config, if it doesn't work try Safe Mode with Command Prompt and once you can type: "chkdsk /f /r" without quotes. Yes to unmount if it asks. If you can't get to either of those then you'll need a Windows CD to boot off of and do the repairs/commands from that.

Im having many problems with my computer right now, ive been getting this code on any hdd i install into the computer itself and many other errors, but the main problem is the computer not booting up, it reaches the logo and stops when only two of the dots for the logo appears, and it then restarts and does it all over again, ive done almost everything and even changed it with working hdds but still no use, if any one know whats going on please help me!

For everyone here looking for answers i found out what is causing this error... I was just installing Window 7 (fresh install) The problem was memory stick related. Once I found a pair of good working and compatible sticks of memory the problem went away. Sometimes might be related to dual channel population ( i had this error with one stick installed) Once I had two sticks that worked the system started installation of Windows 7. I'm building a retro rig with Intel Atom and Nvidia chipset. Good luck!

Does not work. Tried exactly this and it immediately blue screened and reset again with the bluescreen loop. Can't even see the windows icon anymore it just freezes at lenovo now.

Tried this but it didn't work :/ it started happening when windows restarted automatically to install updates. When it rebooted the same error screen appeared (but I am using windows 7 on an hp touch smart pc .-.?). I can't even get into safe mode.

From the F8 menu, I selected safe mode w/ command prompt as I meant to try running Dr. Watson. But I didn't have to actually go that far since the last update automatically reversed itself that way ~.~

Unfortunately it did not work for me, mine keeps on freezing where it says starting windows with the window sign up. This computer is the E machine desktop and I’ve been trying to get answers for this, the only other thing is the hard drive but I tested the hard drive in the cradle On my computer and it seem to be working fine anybody else have any suggestions?
