As OEM established every year setting and adjustment of C18 engine valve lash.
Incorrect valve adjustment can reduce engine efficiency,
the complete valve lash and fuel injector height settings is needed if engine reached service hours or experience
- Parts to replace
- Top end overhaul
- Major overhaul
- Mechanical failure.
Maintenance recommended action is vital to enable correct engine timing.
C18 Setting Specification as follows;
- TC Compression Stroke (Piston No.1 TC | Inlet - 1-2-4 | Exhaust -1-3-5
- TC Exhaust Stroke (Piston No. 6 TC | Inlet - 3-5-6 | Exhaust - 2-4-6
- Setting Inlet valve: 0.38±0.08mm (0.015±0.003inch)
- Setting Exhaust valve: 0.76±0.08mm (0.030±0.003inch)
Tighten Adjustment locknut: 30±7N.m (22±5 Ib ft)
