(C3 Corvette Inside Door Opening and Lock Mech Replacement) 1976 

Yeah. The top hinge is cracked and the door sags about a half inch. It’s so bad the window runs the fiberglass unless you roll it down a bit. The car is in tough shape. I’ll check out the striker. Thanks.

@@NoBrakesGarage Ahhhh makes perfect sense as I was watching the door close. Don't worry about the striker in this case until you fix the hinge. These are VERY hard to unlock when someone locks the keys in that's mainly how I know about them. I have a tool I doubt they still make. It goes down the outside handle where hinge is. I probably haven't used it in 25-30 years. I found out after the fact but someone locked their keys in one of these within the last year in Hollywood Fl. The owner was offering several hundred $ to open it. I think 4-5 locksmiths went out and all failed. I wish he called me. 10 seconds. They can also be opened with a slim jim. We only do cars so we have more knowledge than regular locksmiths.

@@scotts4125 wow. I could see how for some it would be a nightmare trying to twist the little knob with a rod.

That’s not good. It’s been a while since I messed with that but if I remember right I got the clip in position, then put the knob on the spline, and used a screw driver to push the clip on to lock the knob in place

@@NoBrakesGarage the door knob is what I’m referring to but yeah I seen you use a screw to push it on .
