He's the mix of all and have the cleanest freestyle that's why he won ! If you checked Hiroyuki's freestyle scoring you will find the judges crazy to ban Asian speed tricks. (Hiroyuki's tricks aren't impressive anymore, just contest scoring, variation at only 3.XX) And yeah it's technical yoyo era, Takeshi totally nailed it but unfortunately with mistakes >.< Iori had a good freestyle but less technical variations and that is not a fluid one so the got 3rd.

OK, I just want everybody to know that this wasn't the crowds favorite freestyle and not even the most technical when it comes to difficulty, for the first timers you should take a look at the runner ups!..TAKESHI MATSUURA has the most technical freestyle while PAUL KERBEL and ZACH GORMLEY are all visually impressive..Everybody PLEASE WATCH OTHERS FREESTYLE and see it yourself..If you were awed by this, I promise you, you will not be disappointed..

i yoyo myself and the reason for 1 glove is because the string rips through your skin and it's is super painful and gloves are ferfect to have when yoyoing and as ze'ev said hiroyuki suzuki who was the best yoyoer in the world 3 times in a row wears two

Guys, he doesn't need to walk the dog, that's a sucky yoyo trick. And saying he's not a virgin is like saying couches aren't meant to be sat on. This is moment of glory for the us. And yoyoing takes an INCREDIBLE amount of skill. Anybody who thinks otherwise needs to do their research.

The cameras are horrible, the music quality was horrible because of the cameras. The song is Razor Sharp by Pegboard Nerds and Tristam. It sounds better than what it sounds like in the video.
It's not about the music itself, Gentry scored points for synchronisation to the music so I imagine chose the song because it was easy to hit tricks in sync with it. But yeah- it also sounded better in person

Was this the world yoyo contest 2014? Or it was the bac europe? In my opinion this freestyle dont deserve 1st. Yes, it was clean but isnt a winner fs, even hiroyuki did better and CLEANER fs. No questions about it, Gentry win the tittle. But those (me included) who KNOW about it realize that he dont deserved it. Gentry heads a long list of overrated yoyoers like palli, zammy, etc.
This IS what a winning freestyle is. Gentry has worked so hard and put everything that he has to this competition. I mean come on, give props to him. He's waited forever for this moment, and finally was able to achieve what he wanted. Mickey is good, he really is but if you take a closer look, his tricks are actually not that hard; just sped up. He did choreograph with music really well, but he did have some flaws. Takeshi did have a snap snart, but even if he didn't, I don't think he would've gotten the win. I mean sure, his tricks are harder than Gentry's but the it wasn't as clean or choreographed as Gentry's. Iori - I have nothing to say about him. He's good. So stop saying he didn't deserve to win, because he really did. I'm not trying to argue with anyone, but I'm just saying. And yes, Zach's freestyle WAS flawless. Don't know what happened there.

Those tricks are fucking sick! It reminds me of the episode of The Simpsons where the yo-yo champions came to Springfield and everyone got into yo-yos, and I think Bart smashed the classroom fishtank. Shame about the sound system, though: the bass on that recording of Razor Sharp just murders the speakers like they were a woman in a dark alleyway.
So, everyone else's performance videos get 10-30k views, but Gentry's gets almost a million? Apparently people still think that the "walk the dog" joke is funny.
What type of a glove is he using? I'm trying to find a suitable "full hand" glove to use while Yoyo-ing, but there are far too many options out there. I'm wondering which one would be the best to pick up. Any sort of information would be very much appreciated. Cheers! :)
+Omar Ruiz iori has really good control and amazing bangers, Takeshi has an original, technical, and risky style that he has practically mastered ( he is hyped because he has one in three different divisions at japan nationals which are 3a 1a and 5a), and ahmad is good
