Live to Roll - This is video I shot from my last trip to Denver of me getting on and off the plane. The video getting on isn't the best view but its hard to get it set up when people are waiting for me to board so they can get on the plane. We had more time getting off the plane so we were able to set up the camera on the seat across from me. I also have a few tips for flying with your e-motion wheels.

Good for you man! I really wish I can transfer myself. Since I'm a quad I always have to use the aisle chairs. And sitting for the whole flight can be excruciatingly painful. Cannot wait for the day when they make air travel more universally ADA accessible!

SomebodyIusedtoknow (Mariam Paré) Yeah air travels really hard for quads and I hate using the aisle chair! That is one of my main reasons for keeping my chair narrow and I almost alway fly Southwest if I can because they have way more space than most airlines and don't charge for extra sport chairs or medical equipment like a shower chair. I have trouble being on a plane for more than 2 hours. My legs and butt just can't handle it for very long.

I worked for Alaska Airlines for 15 years. Fly, fly away :-) I traveled all the time for leisure. I worked in maintenance. Thanks for the video. Very useful information. I put the flight attendants through a test with the aisle chair during flight across the country.

Nice video. I've traveled a couple of times a 8 hours straight flights. I used the aisle chair that is uncomfortable. Also, I heard that every company have to allow you a free luggage for medical supplies. I'm going to travel on January, first time with power wheels (xtenders) and trying to take5other chair with me. Any advice?

luis hurtado They do have to allow medical supplies but they don't consider a sports chair and wheel bag medical equipment. I would just be careful how they handle the wheels and if they can't come off just explain to them they are very important and fragile as well as very expensive.. the problem with that is relaying it to the crew when you land.

I have an older GoPro 360 camera but I need to upgrade and get the new one because the 360 video does make it a lot easier for shooting on the go. 😎

The first time that I travelled on a plane after being injured, I did not sit on my cushion on the plane. I ended up with a disastrous sore, failed flap surgery and over 20 years of dealing with it. That's great you can do all that you do, but there's no way that I would just sit on the plane seat. Of course, everyone is different. Just a warning for some people.

That sucks... next time be more cautious. As I explain in all my videos, I show you what I do and you can take from it what ever you want to use. Everyone should be aware of their body and what they can or are willing to handle.. So YES..In most cases I would suggest using a cushion on a plane.

Many people make that mistake..I'm %100 a Quadriplegic or Tetraplegic. (Tetra is the term used in most other countries) Check out: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetraplegia

How long did it take you to regain feeling in your triceps ?
@LiveToRoll
@LiveToRoll 6 лет назад
+Danetta Keeper In my triceps I can't tell sharp/dull, no hot/cold or really not even touch but I can feel pressure when pushed down harder on the back in my arm. So I actually don't have feeling or function of my triceps.. I do my transfer using my shoulders and biceps instead of lifting with triceps.

Does it bother you if someone helps you?
@LiveToRoll
@LiveToRoll 7 лет назад
+Gwendoline P. It really depends on the situation, I don't mind people asking me if I need be help but I don't like it when someone just comes over and tries helping without asking. I have actually been dumped out on my chair from somebody trying to push me up a ramp but they see a crack or pebble.. but with that being said now that I'm a little older I do welcome much more help with various things.

Don't you sit on your Roho-cushion during the flight?
@LiveToRoll
@LiveToRoll 9 лет назад
LCN LVC I do sit on my cushion if I'm flying more than a couple of hours. The flight to Denver was two hours and 20 minutes and that's about as long as I will go. I also try doing a few pressure releases during the flight too.

Live To Roll Thanks for answering my question. I flew two times 4 hours without the Roho with also few pressure releases and it was all good. Now i'm planning a trip to NY from Amsterdam and that's more than 8 hours so the Roho is a must i guess.
