Corvette window re-index fixes Windows that don't automatically roll up after the door is closed. This usually occurs when the battery has died or has been disconnected for a length of time.
So, I'm out in the driveway washing our 13 Grand Sport and I see water trickling down the inside of the driver's side window. Hello panic attack! Fired it up and used the window button to raise and lower the window. Worked good. Got out and the window dropped but wouldn't seal up again. Immediately ran inside to the desk top to check RU-vid for advice. Found this video, watched it and immediately ran back outside to try it out. PERFECT! I can NOT thank you enough for sharing this incredibly insightful video with us. Awesome!
Very seldom have I been wrong on any car issue diagnosis. I said no way this would resolve my window problem. No issue could be so simple and quick. Thanks for being one of the very few that has proven me wrong. It hurt my pride but the hell with pride when my window issue was fixed so easily.
Just bought a z06, and last night I changed the gear shifter from aftermarket to stock, and forgot to put the gear selector in "R/5". Today the windows didnt roll back up after closing the door. Googled it, this came up first and I cannot belive that it worked. Thank you!
I just want to say thank you so very much for sharing such a very informative video with the public. I was having the same problem and ran across your video. I found your video to be informative and straight to the point. God bless you kind sir!! We love our pick-up and Corvettes here in Texas!! 🤠
Fantastic and very informative. I have a 07 Coue with 2008 miles and this problem happened. I panicked about what it would cost to fix. Saw your video , tried it twice on my car and it worked the second time...Thank You So Much!!
So much relief when you think "crap... How much is this going to cost? How much time is this going to take to figure out?" Only to find the simplest fix imaginable lol. Thank you for posting this!
New Corvette owner here (I got a 09 LS3 and i love it) i saw my window did the same so i looked at the forums and this video and BOOM EASY FIX THANK YOU SIR. Thumbs up.
I switched the battery on my C6 Z51 & taken notice to the window not rolling all the way up, I was starting to freak out then as BookemDano mentioned I as well ran straight inside & RU-vidd this situation & BAM!! Ran back out to the garage & tried it & perfect!! You saved many peoples Lives here!! lol, Thank you for this video!!
Great video man. Help me out ASAP when it’s about to rain. My vet was sitting for a month came to turn it on to just let it warm up and seen this happen got so worried but the video help me out. Thanks man.
Sometimes indexing does not work. You just have to open up the door and loosen the 2 nuts that hold the window and adjust up and retighten. Indexing does not solve all your problems.
That happened to my drivers door without my battery going dead. Door won't open. The actuator button works but door is jammed because of the window not working properly. I will try your fix it tip. It would Be cool if it works! Thanks so much!
My c7 door won’t close because the battery died and it seems that the glass is all the way rolled up. Seems like I have to wait for the battery to be charged meanwhile I have a door open
My passenger side window does not go down automatically when the door is opened with the top up. I have to drop it manually before opening the door and then raise it after closing the door. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Robert.
I would first check to make sure that the passenger door operates the interior light (on) when open and (off) when closed exactly like the driver's door does? Perhaps the door position switch is not working correctly...
My corvette windows wont go up or down and doors dont open sometimes i use the manual door release a lot to get in or out. What do i do where to do i look ? Its a 2006 corvette
