C. Ward makes some of the best watches on the market. If the watches had “insert your big named brand here” on the dial people would be fawning over them. I watched your interview with Mike France and fell for this very watch. It’s my current daily getting the most wrist time. I absolutely love it!
For me Christopher Ward is one of the most interesting brands out there in terms of value for money. I don't own one yet, but my next target is a C60 Sapphire for its special dial. They also have many other interesting models like this one, even though I prefer the GMT version, or the Super Compressor. Their catalogue is plenty of great models honestly. I can't wait for experiencing one in the metal.
Christopher Wars are better in person than in pictures. I have an older C60 GMT and it is awesome. CWs tend to lose value (as do most watches) and I would recommend buying one lightly used but if you are going to buy new I would check out their return policy - they make it easy to try out a watch...and sign up for the newsletter they will send you a coupon worth ~ 170CAD off.
So watching your reviews is costing me money. I own a C60 Tide thanks to your review. I just ordered the C63 automatic in white with the vintage strap because I have two Omegas with bracelets. CW watches are really special to me. I have several brands in my collection, but the C60 has become my daily watch. Great reviews, cheers!
Good review brother! This white dial version is stunning! I had the black dial version in to my channel which is equally stunning! Dropping my full review of it on Friday! Keep up the great work!
This is such a beautiful watch. I love the way the light plays on the case, the indices and hands - great use of polish and brushed surfaces. Thank you for a great review Sam 😊👍
This is a great watch, and I love mine! I wouldn't call the crystal a boxed crystal...it's just a plain flat crystal. It sticks up above the bezel a fraction of a millimeter.
So much goodwill towards this watch. It is stunning. My only question, is to its marketing position. There is another, stunning , original, value watch out there. The C60 sapphire. I hope they dont steal eachothers sales. Choosing between the black laquered dial Sealander, and the black sapphire would keep me awake at night. Lovely photography btw.
Hey Ray, interesting point! Well hopefully it expands their audience a bit now that these models are slightly smaller? I feel like they are filling a gap in the collection as opposed to cannibalising?
Looks like a combination of my IWC with the curved lugs and my Aqua Terra 2500, I really like it. I'm not a massive fan of the font Christopher Ward use, if only it was in Italics I think that might improve the look but I think I might add one of these to my collection or maybe the hunter green version. Thanks for the review. Always enjoy your take. Still bumed you sold the speedy, with that exhibition case back. But I sold mine too so can't complain, although I do miss it.
That is really nice. The only issue for me would be the 45.8mm Lug-to-lug. If it was slightly larger I would probably go for this on Bracelet. I also would not be surprised if they released a larger version. Just a note, a Small German Watchmaker Called Circula is releasing a true compressor diver later this year, it’s called the Supersport.
What size wrist do you have? Mine is 7 inches and it fits great. The male end link on the bracelet makes this wear slightly larger than the 46mm lug to lug would suggest.
I will keep an eye out for the one. I don't think you should worry about the 45.8, you saw it there on my 7.2inch wrist on a NATO and its doesnt look small at all.
@@CasualWatchReviews Thanks, but, even though it’s an excellent deal, Too big a compromise for me. I would prefer a 41mm-43mm. Plus Christopher Ward will definitely be releasing something else sooner then later.
THANKS FOR A FABULOUS REVIEW OF THIS GORGEOUS WATCH- I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT, CASE, APPLIED MARKERS, TRIDENT ON THE SECOND HAND , crystal and crown. I agree, white version may be the best.
I really wanted their limited edition Blue Wave watch, but missed their last shipment, so I couldn't get one. Their super compression blue dial is real nice, great design in my opinion.
Great review Sam. CW has turned out to be an excellent brand. I haven’t bought anything from them, but I might give them a try in the future. But at these price points there are a lot of choices.
Love CW. Perfect daily driver. I’m in for one with a deep black dial. My guess is that because it’s a simply designed watch it needs to be handled in person to really be able to appreciate it.
Wishing for dark index and hand accents vs silver on white. I know it's common it just provides no contrast. Formex Essence White finally got that aspect right!
Have you seen the new blue one? An applied logo, preferably the two flags instead of text , would seal the deal. I’m also looking at the new Farer Discovery.
I have not but I do have a blue trident. the blues are different shades but I'm sure it will looks awesome. Day to day I don't notice the logo, I think Christopher Ward are the best value swiss made watches I have ever reviewed on the channel
A very good review of a lovely watch - it’s one I really fancy saving up for and getting as my next watch purchase - the only thing that jumped out at me was the the mention of the price in US Dollars rather than in British Pounds, after all it’s a British watch and you’re quite obviously British too. There’s enough pandering to the American market on the internet as it is…
Yes, honestly. I think its a great deal this one. I was not a fan of the leather, just didn't think it suited that style. If you look at the quality of the case the dial and the strap options, the only thing would be if you don't aesthetically like it. But if you like the look, then you will not be disappointed.
Your missing out honestly, I own one, love it and the logo is not that obvious in person. Probably the best value Swiss watch you can buy. Certainly that I have reviewed
@@CasualWatchReviews Definitely not disputing this is a good piece and presents amazing value for money. But I just can't over the logo design, it reminds me of a designer watch logo and I just can't see passed it. Maybe if I held one in person I'd change my mind.
I’m sorry am I the only one that finds this design almost triggering? The thickness between the hour markings and the hands are too similar and the two hands don’t agree in design language, ones pointy and ones rounded and mirrors the hour markings. Kinda jarring and irritating to look at in my humble opinion. I will never buy it though, so what does it matter? Lol
I hate to say it but I think it’s just you. I think they absolutely nailed this design, I don’t hesitate to review a CW when one is doing the rounds because I love the design so much
0:27 He's right when he says the Sealander is 3 watches. 48% Rolex Explorer 48% Omega Aqua Terra 2% CW Sorry CW, but that's what I see when I look at this watch. I love CW but they could have done better with this watch. CW could/should have made it look more original. They should have made it look more CW.
The case really looks nothing like an aqua terra? Did you watch any of the upload? I spent part of it talking about the movement inside it? Its not ETA.
