Is the C7 a better buy over the legendary V10 C6?? Do you have an exciting DadCar you would like to see on the channel? DM me on instagram or email dadcarsben@gmail.com Music by @RichTamblyn #audirs6 #rs6avant #dadcars
Not really. I have a x5 40d in individual paint and interior.. 7 seater for my 4 kids and wife. 330bhp and 600 nm of torque. Its all things to all dads.
@@imrekr My brother has a 59 plate 3.5 twin turbo diesel X5. Lovely car that goes like a stabbed rat, but I still say an estate lets you load up all the stuff you need with room to spare.
With my 2016 performance model, I can confirm I get the same 26mpg average, 20mpg around town and 34 on a run. Its been a brilliant, practical yet fun car and very reliable, I have run up big miles at well over 100,000 miles with out any issues.
Great video. Recently purchased a 2011 c7 3.0tsfi on a whim as we desperately needed a bigger car for our 3 children (all in baby seats) and the dog. I’m loving it and actively on the hunt for a RS6 C7 and your video has proved very useful. Thank you.
Im running a C7 66 plate white estate but only with a 2.0 tdi stage 1 and manual. This is my favourite generating body wise and interior, hope I can get my hands on one of these, soon 😎
Hi mate, I own a 2017 C7 RS6, tax is merely £180 so that is even more of a steal! Had it for a month so far and live near Central London. Fuel economy wise, probably around 12mpg in town, and I can get 33mpg on a run but that happens whilst driving it like a granny. Great vid!
Got a 2015 C7 TDI A6, going to chip it to stage 1. Not an RS, but a lovely car to drive! This is also my favorite generation in terms of design. Still feels fresh and is not overly techy or futuristic like the newer ones
I used to drive all kind of Audi RS for years, really enjoyed that "one car does it all mantra", to me VS Amg or BMW M RS have the best all around comprise, but.... in the end you spend most of your time driving just as fast as the dude in the Audi A6 in front of you except you are burning way more cash than he does.... When it comes to the few opportunities the kids are not in the car and where the road/the trafic allows you to have fun, well the cars are awesome as long as you are driving them at "80%" it really shines when you do "spirited crusing", if you are looking for true sport you will be disapointed IMO. Nowadays I went for a 2 cars garage a family Van for commute and duites, and a 911 for week-ends and special occasions. To be honnest I don't miss an Audi RS at all
For me the C7 with the creature comforts and tech win me over, but the engine note of the C6.. Engine swap anyone? 😬 Love the in depth reviews! No doubt helping lots of Petrolhead Papas out there make a purchase that’s right for them 😊
Amazing Video Dadcars, ive recently got bored with our 840 Gran Coupe and keep looking at these as a replacement for the Family car- the 8 series is more modern n possibly more luxurious - ive remapped it but it just doesnt have the engine i want , This really has got my senses going for a change purely off your review mate
bought one 3 Months ago. C7 2015 Model will all inclusive Options. Absolutly Massive, switching from a tuned S4 B5 to an RS6.. Massive place in the boot, massive Power and what I most enjoy, difference between Power and class.. You can just drive long distance with under 9 litres /100km and with the Switch to dynamic can transform into a rocket. Lovely Greetings from Switzerland ;)
Agree with everything you've said, obviously biased as I've got a C7.5 with near 18k worth of mods fitted by the previous owners! They are exceptional, one thing I do definitely prefer though is the air suspension. Even though it's bright sepang blue and growls and barks in asbo mode it attracts a lot more positive attention than I've experienced over the years with BMW M cars and my more recent B8 S4. Gone are the traffic light events where anyone with a mildly fast car (usually driven by a 30 something) saw my car as an instant threat to their manhood, turning them into captain caveman mode. Even with over 700hp on tap it is such a chilled car to drive, can barely hear the engine when cruising along in comfort mode. Already had it shown at one show, with another 2 coming up in the next month. And yes, 30mpg is definitely achievable in these things, although it would be a long motorway journey with cruise control on. I get around 23-25mpg with the mixed driving I do. Costs? Both HPFP's went immediately after getting the car a couple of months ago. 900 quid, including the oil change. Even if they hadn't went I'd have done them anyway as they are a notorious fail on these. Since then it's behaved impeccably, and with the previous owner wisely fitting AP racing 2 piece brakes, when it comes to swapping them out I only need to buy the pads, outer rotors and bobbin kit. Easily 500quid saved compared with OEM. Easily the best car I've owned to date, in the future nothing will likely come close.
Deffo agree estate is the way to go, way more unique these days! we've got a last run V70 D5 manual, 45mpg, massive boot and self levelling rear for the tent/bikes!
I'd love one of those in white too, such an efficient engine, my 2005 MK5 GTI (Stock and perfect engine wise) drinks slightly less petrol 😂And the haters will say, "cos it's slow and you have to trash it", and I reply, "exactly". Still love it 😢
RS6 - definite legend. Love that C7 in white. My C6 is white. Would love to see that C7 and my C6 side by side. I think in terms of looks, C7 is more modern, C6 more classy. I agree with you. C7 is an exceptional car but C6 with its V10 captured my heart.
I went from a b8 RS4 to a c7.5 RS6. I preferred the RS4 in every way. Many people told me I was wrong, but the RS6 is too clinical for the UK’s roads and speed limits. The RS4 is the perfect all rounder. If you don’t get into one sooner I’ve just bought a project C5 which I’ll happily drop to you on completion.
I've recently bought a 2014 rs5, I was after a rs6 c7 but budget didn't quite stretch that far, I did look at the c6 rs6 but I couldn't help but feel it's a little dated interior wise especially since I had a b8 sline a4 before, the c7 is definitely going to be my next buy though, but for now I am enjoying my na v8 wailing goodness
@dadcars I did and its an awesome beast, also driven a c7 too as a friend has had both at one time or another, so for now I'll enjoy the coupe lifestyle while I work away to get myself the c7
My dad car is a 2018 C43 AMG. I could have gone for the C63 however the C43 pertains to being a much more 'dailyable' car. With a stage 1 remap it produces the same power as the C63 (480hp) combined with the mountain-goat-like grip offered by the 4matic system is a winner in my book. Don't get me wrong, it's not the quattro system, nor is it an RS6... What do you mean? I'm not jealous 😂
Great video! Now the MPG has got me thinking a little… in my S4 3.0 I get literally the same MPG you quoted, except I can get 38mpg on the motorway on a sensible run. I expected worst! Also I’m not sure if that subtle pulling in the steering is lane assist? Trying the keep you in lane?
@@dadcars I have the B8.5. While I was saving up for a new car my old man let me drive his B9 for 6 months! Which then made me want a S4 but the B9 was little bit more expensive and I didn’t want to exact same as my dad. Both cars have their benefits and negatives! One major positive with the B8.5 is the near enough instant power (due to the supercharger) whereas I found the B9 to bit too laggy, which got me in interesting situations on roundabouts…😂 Hmmm I thought it might have been been lane assist. I’m not sure how I would feel with that, but I’m sure you would get used to it!
I really love the look of the C6 and the engine,I even prefer the interior in that over this however I can't overlook how much the C7 improves over the C6 ,I'm torn I guess 😂
I have a 65 plate BMW 335d F31 with Stage 1, I've had it for 5 years and it's been a fantastic car. I've been thinking about the RS6 C7 for a while now, I love it, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra 12+ grand over the 335
I have noticed on Autotrader that many RS6 adverts show the cars have had a lot of owners? with your experience, why would that be the case? Do you think its the expense of running the car or maybe some expensive problems were looming and the car was moved on?
I’ve always dreamed about owning an Audi RS6. I nearly bought the first generation. I think it would interesting to try the RS4 range too. All practical and fast family estates. I’m really disappointed that most manufacturers have dropped estates in favour of those fat SUV monstrosities. The issue is that the public keep buying SUVs and not estates. Maybe if the RFL for SUVs was tripled, that might change?
As I drive a van which is essential for my work I’d love an rs.I got the missus a hybrid Toyota which is great but unpractical for my needs.buying one of these would be great however I know the missus n she’s a bit of an old school petrol head hence I’d end up with the Toyota 🤷♂️🤦♂️
These are still unafordable over here, between 45 k for a early pré facelift up to 75 k for a facelifted one, and i haven't even mentioned the running costs that are really high because of taxes over here. It was always my dream car but it's never gonna happen 😂 so i settled for my more realistic dream practical estate being a Octavia VRS. Far from an RS6 but for the money ~20k you just can't beat it.
Having a ghost immobiliser reduces that worry down considerably. Don't get me wrong, very little will stop someone from taking the car if they're THAT determined, but it's definitely a great deterrent.
@theunknownentity1830 With this type of car a ghost is little use, they will break into your house with a blade to your neck. At that moment in time I'd rather no immobiliser, take it. Its a sad state of affairs, however I'd rather just avoid this class of car until the scenario changes!
@glenm2113 I don't know mate, does it matter? I understand if you've got more than 2 kids it might. I thought the premise of this channel "Dad cars" was about reviewing anything fun to drive with more than 2 seats.
Is an RS6 a good dad car though given the risks of some bad lads taking your front door off to get to the keys whilst your kids are in bed? It’s the one thing that has stopped me getting one to date 😢
Yep it’s a sad world we live in. It could be any car nowadays and people will steal it. My neighbour had his RS6 taken and my cousin has his RS7 taken from his garage(they found the keys in the house)! But we can’t live in fear of enjoying ourselves because of some people… I’d go for it!
Hi ben massive fan of the audi rs6 but like you the running costs and fuel bills would put me off as i do a substantial amount of mileage per year , However i did find a compromise, same space for an awful less amount of money. I bought the 2018 skoda superb 2.0 190 tdi dsg sel executive . Now on looks and power the rs has it but for everything else the skoda has it beat . Top speed still 147mph , Mpg top of 60 miles per gallon. Its got the exact interior space and a lot of the interior buttons and controls are taken from the audi a6 .now is it a dad car well yes if purchased in sportline trim and the 280bhp and 4motion it grips pretty well too and with the right modifications 580 bhp is achievable. A fraction of the cost and cheaper to tax and insure .whats not to love .if you can forget the badge snobbery its a real winner.
Well if you count the Urus as a proper lambo then the RS6 is just that… make the exhaust a little more fruity and you have an understated lambo estate 🤷♂️
The interior on those c7 was dated looking when it was released & now they just looking absolutely shocking bad … hands down one of the most overrated boring cars in the last 15 years .. Audi has always been fashion over function & if you want a actual drivers car steer well clear from this dinosaur
