Do you have the link to that oil catch can you are using ?If you go to the Amazon link, it shows a bunch of different models but not the one you’re using ,thanks
Great video ! I have 2 questions: 1. Is this entirely necessary for a non tracked C7 (Z51) ? 2. Why didn’t Chevrolet design this to begin with ? Or issue a TSB ? I just started saving for a C7 (14-16) manual Z51 w. Mag ride and should be ready by summer of 2024 to buy. I’m up to doing this myself but do I need it ? I don’t plan on tracking it but will drive spirited on twisty roads
Well, it’s not really “necessary”, but it will keep the carbon deposits off the back of the throttle body and the tops of the valves over time. GM designed it purely to meet emissions standards and pollution laws. Why burn oil if you don’t have to? The engine will perform better and last longer even though you won’t notice. Besides, your car will love you for it.
@@C3Modsawesome response. Thank you. This is all makes sense. But I’m still intrigued by the fact that Chevrolet didn’t incorporate the oil catch can design to begin with. Guess like you said they designed the engine to meet emission standards but didn’t want to spend extra $ on this oil catch can. Saved your video for future install !
Yes, the reason I didn't put one on was because I was running out of room in the engine compartment. I would have chosen to mount it somewhere else in the engine compartment and make the lines to reach. The fittings are on the passenger side on the LS.
