Matt you should start trying to find a dialed in upholstery shop. Getting factory items recovered might be better than trying to find decent aftermarket parts.
Just bought a C7 the idoit before me cover the decals with furnace tape. I pull the furnace tape off which destroyed the decals Now i have to buy new decals. Why any one would fuck around taking decals off beats me.
It's so he can bitch about the inferior parts and materials used in the C7 versus cars that cost $50k more. Oh and for the views, the Corvette probably generates more views than most of his other projects. :)
What a junk car. Plastic everywhere, fake alcantara, sounds like dog shit. Why you would buy this when you have a Porsche which is 1000x more superior than this domestic junk is beyond me!!!!!
GM take notice put the sticker on the inside of the mirror cover that way you could read it once and be done it’s not like you have to refer to that every time you drive the car and it still there for the next person who buys it looks much better Matt
Just a heads up I have the same steamer and use it on all kinds of cars and interiors and have had no issues, except Porsche leather is really thin and can dry up easily and I burnt some leather when trying to clean a seat using the same method I had on every other car i've used it on. - Great video. Those warning labels have always bothered me too.
Also curious why he’d steam the entire thing before spraying cleaner? Kinda tough for the cleaner to get into the material and lift out whatever is in it when it’s soaked with water.
Keep it simple, leave them on the car and just use a regular hairdryer - carefully, - with roof off. when you heat up the decal do not overheat the backing. if you have residue use GOO BE GONE, but test first on the edge first...
@15:00 you can clearly see the garage homelink buttons on the visor. Then editing magic cuts and the correct visor is on the passenger side. :) I need to do this to my C7, but don't have a steamer. Looked so good when I peeled them of my ND Miata though which was just plastic visors.
If the outline is still noticeable after the sun has got to it try hit it with a leather sanding pad to feather it out! Should work in blending the outline! BTW I love your work man, probably the most satisfying detailer to watch on RU-vid!
Still trying to justify buying a steamer as a hobbyist. Getting rid of my unsightly warning stickers may just do the trick. I’m sure may come in handy around the house once in a while.
Id highly recommend it. If you dont wanna spend too much, just get a Karcher SC3 Premium - Heats up super fast. Great for around the house as well. Cleans anything with ease.
