Pretty cool. I'm just curious how the stock computer recognizes the flex fuel tune. Does the flex fuel sensor automatically tell the computer to change the tune when it picks up the E85? Or does the driver have to put the car in a certain mode to change to the flex fuel tune?
The Flex fuel sensor reports a frequency to the ecm based on ethanol content. Higher the ethanol, higher the frequency. Once this input is turned, on the ecm constantly is looking at this input. As the ethanol content changes, the ecm will trim the fuel and timing automatically based on tables I setup. Whether it's 5%, 45%, 85%, or anything in-between it will keep the proper mixture and timing.
