@@RickCorvetteConti Ohh my god wow. I feel like the kid that meets a celebrity he looks up too. I can't thank you enough for being awesome this last year and helping me learn about the Corvette life. Look forward to being a customer of yours in the coming years Rick!
so just to be clear, if you did this again, you would XPEL PPF the same as you did, however you would only Ceramic the sections that were not EXPEL'd (because that is overkill?) And if you did that what would the cost reduction have been?
I have a video where I discuss how the PPF and Ceramic held up after a year (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MCpzWnAuMMI.html)....XPEL now makes a ceramic coated PPF called Ultimate Fusion so if you do that, I would not ceramic over the ppf-ed area...If you go with regular ppf, then I would ceramic over it for ease of cleaning. You won't save much from the installer to exclude ceramic on the front clip to make it worth it.
Thanks very much... BTW - really enjoyed your video. Very informative and helped me to learn more about this new Stingray. I'm taking deliver of my new C8 next Friday.. so I'll try to get these mats then.
@@EEEZSolutionS Congrats on your order. They were about 50 bucks cheaper online then at the dealer. Once your reward points are processed, you can use those toward the mats if you go with dealer to get them. Do check out some other videos in the C8 playlists for other ideas and tips from my C8 journey. Amazing car in every way. You will love it.
I will do just that and thanks for the assist - this will be my 3rd Vette.... Been 1 1/2 year wait for this car and to say it's exciting is an understatement. Thanks too for the additional info about the mats. I looked at several but when I saw your video for the first time several months ago, these just stuck in my head and I too like both the Jake and Vet logos.
Cover Up Solution in Salem NH is finishing my C8 (Black HTC) today. Joe N is great to work with and his shop is only about 18 miles from MacMulkin. Dropped in late yesterday and my remark to Joe is "you are an artist, obsessed with perfection." Bought the full wrap for protection and added the ceramic coat for ease of care. Black is black, you know.
Awesome. Thanks for the positive feedback and thank you for watching. Check out some of the newer videos on the channel as well about some other mods if anything peaks your interest.
I live in NJ and I got full frontal, rocker panel, door handles, A pillars and removable targa roof done in Xpel PPF and full 5 year ceramic, with full wheels and calipers, windows and side window tint for just under $4500. Buff and Beyond in Cranberry NJ did an amazing job
I am seeing $858 for the mirror, hood and fenders and $90 for the headlight kit. Doesn't look like they sell the bumper kit directly. www.xpel.com/paint-protection-kits/XPEL-US--AND--Canada/Passenger-Cars--AND--Light-Trucks/2020/Chevrolet/Corvette/Coupe Licensed installers get a different price then we do as well. I paid $2k installed and it looks like that is a pretty reasonable price for the full front package with installation.
@@c5vette739 Thats not a bad price. I did have the rockers xpel-ed and had the whole car ceramic coated at the same shop so probably got a little bundle discount too.
It is machine cut from a system and XPEL scans the cars and makes the pre-cut pieces for the installer to be able to use so not sure if the machine precuts for around the edges.
Hey. Thanks for watching. It's like that from the factory. On really cold days, the facia seems to harden and sit uneven. This was clear XPEL so they don't pull anything off and its machine cut up to the seam. The body lines match up now that its warmer. I talk about it a little more in a newer video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ttJyXKUOhVY.html
Unfortunately, I am from the MA/RI area so don't know anyone from the IL area. I would check out XPELs certified installer locator, pick a few close to your area and look at a few things. Online reviews, the kind of vehicles they have done in the past, and get prices to see what the spread is and find the best shop for the money. www.xpel.com/clearbra-installers/united-states/illinois If you are looking for just ceramic coating, I went with ceramic pro, my 3rd car I have had done in their product and I love it: ceramicpro.com/installers/ Most quality places do both ceramicpro and XPEL so you should find a one stop shop. Beware of cheaper ceramic products. CeramicPro's 5 year package is legit if done by a licensed shop. Find a shop that works on higher end cars and isn't posting pics of their work being all Honda accords. You should be able to find a shop thats done a C8 before by now. Sorry for the novel but hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
The Radiator grille guards I went with: c8grills.com/ Here is that video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bDoLy66bdPY.html Thanks for watching!
Ceramic coating the wheels is a great idea. Paying to ceramic coat a plastic wrap? Not so much. I don’t think what you paid for ceramic coating, as long as paint correction was done before hand, is out of line at all. But with today’s products being so user friendly you could have done it easily yourself. Good luck with your car, it’s beautiful. Just hoping I’ll get my lakehart blue vert before I’m dead.
You will get it. The car is totally worth the wait. The DIY hand solutions for ceramic coating are great too but the Ceramic Pro is a hardened 9H base coat that is baked on under high heat lighting before top coated. I had it done to a car 3 years ago and cleaning was actually really fun. Coating over the Xpel was overkill but to be blatantly honest, that didn't cross my mind :) Thanks for watching!
Hey. I got mine during a holiday sale. Here is the part number: 84534619. You can buy off ebay which is where I got them from but it seems they are on backorder from GM so online resellers have gotten a little pricier.
I just took delivery of my C8 on Saturday. I am torn as to whether to get the mats you got or the nice carpeted LLoyds mats. The ones you have a much more functional, while the Lloyds are nice looking with the carpeting.
I don't think you can go wrong with either but I liked the prospect of tracking in snow that won't melt through the all weather mat and hit the original carpet. Thanks for watching!
That is very likely. These are stamped to indicate made by GM but they could have totally just outsourced it. I will say, the material on these mats is different then the weathertechs in my trucks and I like these mats way more so far. They are less abrasive, smoother and less stiff. Thank you for watching.
Wow. 2 installers in an entire state! That's rough. $8k honestly isn't that bad. A full C8 XPEL is about $6000 plus 1200 for the 5 year ceramic coating around where I am. But if you are doing a full XPEL wrap, then you could do a DIY ceramic coating every 2 years for a $150-$200 plus your own labor. Don't really need professional paint correction on the XPEL film. Thank you for watching.

I am paying $4400 for expel on entire front and side rocker panels and 7 year warranty with double ceramic on entire vehicle in Michigan. I’m going to need sunglasses to look at my Accelerate Yellow HTC.
@@sheneedsme I'm drooling over here. That is gonna look amazing. I really liked the yellow but when I placed my order, they said certain premium colors were late production and Red would arrive sooner..... Got my red 13 months after order, boy were they wrong about "earlier" lol Congrats on the C8 and thank you for watching.
Funny thing about that, it totally is but only when it is cold. It seems that bumper side flexes in hot and cold temps. This day was cold (20 degrees) so it hardened up and was a little misaligned but if you look at some of the newer videos when it was warmer out, it goes away. Strange. Definitely bizarre. Thanks for watching!
Hey. Thanks for stopping by and watching. Appreciate it. I went to a shop about an hour away called Attention to Detail in Dennis, Ma. They had great reviews and did an amazing job. It was well worth the distance traveled.

There is no way in hell that $1200 ceramic coating will last you 5 years... Such BS and ripoff! Take a video of how it repels water now and compare it 5 years later.... They are all counting on you not owning the car by that time!
I had it on my expedition max platinum for about 2.5 years and it didn't lose any of its shine or hydrophobic properties except where the wipers cut over and changed back cause the blade digs into the glass there. This isn't regular ceramic coating or DIY stuff. It is applied in 4 total layers and baked on using UV rays. It starts to lose some of its properties after 3 years but with proper maintenance, I think 4 good years is reasonable.
