Switzerland, Austria, and all of Southern Germany is the most beautiful land on Earth, the engineering and pride these people take in their country and railroads is unmatched.
@@slowneutron6163 This may be true, but what about dining in an Italian restaurant after a day of hiking? This is what I liked the most about South Tyrol, but I have never been on the other side of the Atlantic. The nature in the Rockys must be epicly wild from what I have heard.
Switzerland really is a jewel in the world's crown, stunning beauty. Don't often see a train operator get off to shoo away a cow off the tracks, so cute. Another wonderful video, keep them coming.
Amazing, but my favorite will always be the Lauterbrunnen - Wengen - Kleine Scheidegg line! I will remember watching the trains stopping at the station in Wengen from my hotel room in Hotel Victoria for the rest of my life!
Direkt am ehemaligen Haus meiner Grosseltern vorbei gefahren. Ich war schon lange nicht mehr in Grindelwald und habe mich gefreut, es wieder einmal zu sehen! Danke fürs Zeigen 😀
I live in Wisconsin, so I know the whole cow and transportation issues at times. But stopping a train, that is a new one. Love it. Plus the views.... breath taking. Thank you for making this video and sharing.
2:20 Stopping for the cows is absolutely classic 🙂Mooooo! All this causes an _unacceptable_ delay in the train schedule! Hahaha. Nächster Halt: Salzegg. Halt auf Verlangen. Sorry, can't help myself.
@@phillipzx3754 not sure if they feed energy back into the grid on these old lines. Most of the rail cards I saw on that particular line carried large resistor grids on their roof, indicating they the burn the energy just up as heat.
The new units do feed back energy. The old ones aren't in use anymore other than pushing maintenance cars /occasional rushhour relief in Wintertime. Since a few Years now here in Switzerland, Wheelchair/Handicapped accessability is mandatory by Law on all public Transports/Buildings/whatever, so the old ones are ruled out of Service already ust by that Law alone...@@kaihorstmann2783
I’ve been on this train one time in the winter and I remember every inch of the ride. Thanks for doing this. We had an amazing lunch at that little café at the very top and of course in sane skiing.
Absolutely incredible. The engineering is phenomenal. And the natural beauty is outstanding. What a fabulous ride. The cows were a special treat. Lol. Thanks.
I first time I ever skied was in Kleine Scheidegg. Still have fond memories of the whole trip, and the history of the railway and the climbing of Eiger Nordwand is fascinating. Beautiful place and I will return some time. Thanks for the video
Thank you for bringing us this beautiful video, I have never been able to afford to travel to any country outside of the United states, Switzerland is so magnificent in its beautiful scenery! Thank you very much!
You are most welcome 😊 Glad you enjoyed it. If you like, you can check our other videos for the virtual tour of Switzerland. Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭
I've watched a lot of "Driver's view" videos, but this absolutely the *best* I've ever seen. The cable cars travelling thru the scene at around 8:15 added a touch of hi-tech sci-fi over a primal landscape.
Truly glad to hear that! Then you must check our other Driver view videos, maybe there is a competition which one is the best 😉 (You will be amazed) Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭
You probably get a better view going down than going up. I love the laid back attitude of the cows, even if it does clash slightly with the famous Swiss precision.
Lovely video,I did this journey in the Winter when it was knee deep in snow. Lovely to see it in the summer, what a beautiful clean country ,many thanks for sharing.Happy days 😂
What beautiful Mountain scenery your Mountains make the Mts here in Pa of the US look almost like hills in comparison. Will defiantly watch more thanks for the ride.
Great train ride, and almost like being there. I could already breathe the fresh mountain air along with the cattle on the sides of the tracks too. That country side is far better than where I live in the United States
Cow: hey let me finish my grass, i'm why don't u wait for few hours," that was good part for this video. this is great cab ride video, u r lucky driver watching every day cool landscape.
Lovely video! It's amazing how the cow is not bothered by the train at all. Of course you don't get that sort of problem with the Eiger Express but then that's part of the charm of the train journey. I hope the line stays in business against the competition - I travelled on it once years ago and would love to do it again!
En route vers la gare Jungfraujoch, magnifique voyage en train dnas le massif de l'Eiger ! Avec un très grand Bravo pour la qualité de la prise de vue !
We did that trainride back in 2009 we included the topride to jungfraujoch also. Spectacular memory!!! Sadly, since then Switzerland has become a very expensive holiday destination nfor us😢. We go to Austria nowadays. A little less spectecular but way cheaper, both in accomodation and admission fees. Switzerland always was and is my favorite holiday destination but for a regular family with kids like ourselves, to expensive. I hope to turn back one day, especcialy since i learned that i have Swiss roots from my grandmother’s fathers side. Greetings from The Netherlands.
Spent several camping/caravan holidays in the at the lakeside at Brienz back in the 70's/80's. Many a trip up to Grindelwald and also round the Susten, Furka & Grimsel loop from Innertkirchen. Glorious scenery amd when travelling those p[asses was a good deal more exciting.
@@AKSense long lasting memories and, luckily, photos/slides of holidays from 1961 to the early '80s. Lakes, paddle-steamers and railways all set against the background of the Swiss/French/Italian Alps. My favourite campsite is the Aaregg camp site opposite Brienz.
The most spectacular railway, tot the top of Europe Jungfraujoch. Via Kleine Scheidegg. It is the highest in the world but also the most expensive railway. Take a 3 days pas from Grindelwald.
