I believe you can't ride the E257 on the _Azusa_ route anymore. The E257's are being modified to eventually replace the 185 Series train sets on _Odoriko_ and various _Home Liner_ services in the Tokyo area.
@@ayokoi But I believe the Nagano Comprehensive Vehicle Center has already begun modifying E257 train sets into the configuration that will be used in the Tokyo area. (Speaking of which, does anyone know why the Chuo Main Line between Okaya and Chino is only single-tracked? I believe everywhere else, it's double-tracked.)
@@Sacto1654 It seems to be because of the weak soil there, and the people around there not allowing the work to happen before (As a result JR East does not feel like spending capital on that part)
