Hola Alberto. You certainly do a great job of displaying Mexico's boutique hotel destinations and spas. When I was traveling in Mexico 40-55 years ago they scarcely existed. You obviously enjoy visiting them. I wonder how you would spend your time if they still did not exist? Before I forget I was recently looking at some photos from one of my earlier trips, and found a few of the church in Apan. The church was closed, but the cloister was open and I was able to photograph it. It is very unusual in that the upstairs is walled, with windows, or enclosed with wooden screens (I didn't photograph all four sides so I can't confirm the appearance of the fourth side). Enclosing the upper floor of cloisters is very rare in Mexico. I may have seen one or two other examples, and they occasionally occur in South America. When you return to Apan see if the cloister is open. If it is open you might find someone to let you into the church, in case it is closed. Filming in sun or cloudy weather certainly makes a difference. Each has its benefits but the results are strikingly different, as if you were filming two different places. When I started watching the video I didn't pay close enough attention as I was finishing up another project, and I found Acaxuchitlan on a map, which seemed to be about the right distance from CDMX and Pachuca, but I couldn't understand how that town in that location was so lush and green, but soon your video gave the name again and better directions and I soon located Acaxochitlan. I've been to Tulancingo and Huauchinango, so the lush environment of Agua Morada was no longer a surprise. One rarely finds cabins built with wood in Mexico. Primarily in the forested regions of Mexico, like parts of Chiapas or Michoacan or the mountains between Oaxaca City and Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido. Or in trees. I doubt that masonry houses would be advisable in trees. In Chiapas I noticed thatch roof houses with wide wooden plank walls around Chamula (Tzotzil) and in the parajes around Tenejapa (Tzeltal). That was 50 years ago. Recent photos suggest such houses are less common today. In Angahuan, Mich. there were some very nice houses made with wood and wooden shingle roofs fastened with wooden pins. One of the nicest examples of wood house construction is on the grounds of the Anthropology Museum in Chapultepec Park. It is a small Tarascan house moved to the museum from Michoacan. The porch has some beautifully carved posts, very elaborate in detail. It reminds me of the amazing wooden houses and churches of Norway, created centuries ago by incredibly skilled artisans. 60 years ago the type of torch you showed was popular in Southern California. Hotels and resorts with semi-tropical foliage used them every night. My family had two which we used when bar-be-cueing. They burned kerosine. I liked gardening and landscaping (as hobbies) and was fascinated with Polynesia, so the backyard was all semi-tropical plants. I should remember to eat before watching your videos. You often show delicious food and I'm hungry at the end of your videos. You mentioned the lack of internet. When I was traveling in Mexico there was no internet anywhere. It didn't exist. We had to buy travelers cheques to carry money safely. I wonder if anyone in Mexico would cash a travelers cheque today, or if they even exist. I'm glad Agua Morada has reliable hot water. Another RU-vidr went to Xilitla and found none. He stayed at a hobbit-looking place, quite interesting to look at and environmentally friendly. Unfortunately it had been cloudy for several days and the solar panels weren't able to heat the shower water. Very brief cold showers were the result. You keep making videos faster than I can watch and comment on them. Rest assured I try to watch every one (of the recent videos) and give them a "like" even if I don't comment. Stay well.
