Cabangan is one of the thirteen towns that make up the province of Zambales. It sits right in the middle of the province, bordered by the towns of Botolan on the north and San Felipe on the south. Its western side directly opens to the West Philippine Sea. It’s about 180 to 200 kilometers from Manila depending on your route, which would take around four to five hours travel time.
Geographically, Cabangan is mainly divided into two land areas by the Olongapo-Bugallon Highway. West side for the beach part, east side for the mountain and river areas. In the midst of these two is the town center where the Municipal Hall, the market, banks, ATMs, food places, churches, groceries, and convenience stores are.
Name it, Cabangan probably has it now. This lesser known corner of Zambales has transformed from being a quiet, zero-tourist town to a now relatively busy beach town. I say relative, since Cabangan, for the most part, is still the quiet town in Zambales
One of Cabangans pride is Dapya river popularly known because of its majestic view of the mountain and a crystal clear water running from Agbobotilya river situated in Sitio Maporac, Brgy New San Juan.
You can stay for a day tour or overnight camping depending on your preference, just ask for the locals assistance. they have an entrance fee of P20per head and your kids below 5years old is free of charge, you can rent for a cottage during your stay @ P300 to P500 depending on its size and your head count. Better to be sure that you have all the necessities during your stay specially your food because I didn't notice any single store nearby, and also prepare your self for a long bumpy ride for about 3km.
