Cabbing Labradorite (Spectrolite) to a high polish!

Anie shows how the JOOLTOOL can take a rough Spectrolite, an uncommon variety of Labradorite, all the way to a high polish. Done for a VIP customer, Merilou Jenkins, at the Tucson Gem Show 2019 with all the "surprises" and interruptions of a live video!
The beauty beneath the rough surface was gradually uncovered using the Lapidary Kit for Stones and Glass, available here: jooltool.com/c...
What was used in this video:
1. Remove sharp edges with rolling motion and the coarsest disk
2. Let the machine and the disks do the work
3. Use a light touch. Smooth consistent sanding method by rolling under the disk

This is just very very high quality Labradorite. Spectrolite is similar but has distinct qualities and only comes from ONE mine in Finland.

MAN ALIVE!!!! I wish I could afford one of these JOOLTOOLS!!! I am just starting to get into lapidary work and think this machine is amazing. Just out of my price range.....hopefully one day!!! Really Neat product!! Well Done!

Omg thank you so much for this video!!! I just recently finally purchased a jooltool and was cabbing some labradorite to make a pendant for my mom. According to a few articles online, Cerium Oxide was ok to use on labradorite and I had forgotten about this video, so I went through a ton of frustration when I tried polishing the cab and kept having white ashy residue left behind. Found this video again when I went looking for answers and now I know what to do!

This is exactly what I was looking for could you tell me if the soft stone version works on labradorite or is the hard one ?

The soft stone kit would work, if you see that you need to go finer on certain stones you can always add the premium diamond upgrade kit, this is the kit that goes up to 50,000 grit. Thank you! -Anie
