Thank you for sharing. What wonderful insights. We recently flew from DC to Madrid and were booked on Delta. Due to weather and flight cancellations, they rerouted us on British, who very kindly and unexpectedly bumped us from business to 1st class on the 747-400. It had been decades since last spending time in the nose of the big bird (my father was a Pan Am pilot). The ground and flight crews could not have been any more prepared or gracious and professional. World class all the way. Thanks again.

It was so different at the beginning. I was MF at the start and we were FIRST trained as part of our initial training course. Imo the way it’s done now is better. Some of the younger NE’s struggled in FIRST. I’m happily retired now two years, but look back with some fond memories. Anyone who was with MF at the beginning will testify to the brutal flying schedules we we forced to endure, like single night stop GIG. A lot of crew were so exhausted they went sick. And crew turnover was less than two years on average. Plus we had no union to improve things for years, which I think BA was happy with. The MF strike made the company sit up and take notice. Things look different now but challenging times now for all airlines. So good luck for the future. And my advice to any crew is to join MFU.

Quick question, i've heard that once u first start as a flight attendant, naturally you'll be flying domestic and as you work longer for the airlines that's when u start to fly international. im planning to apply at singapore airlines and as we all know singapore doesn't hv any domestic flights. so does that mean in the beginning we will fly only around asia or do we start flying internationally from the start? it would be helpful if u hv any answers thanks!
