I pick a nice windy day and have a go at replacing the roof. If you've enjoyed this video - feel free to buy me a beer via paypal - many thanks to those of you that have already :-) www.paypal.me/... My website: maximusironthu...
And the keel's sick and the wall's wrong and the green roof’s shaking, And grey missed on the lea’s face, and a grey'd awn breaking. I bet you have to look up 'awn'. I did ;-) I hoped it would have the same root as 'awning' but I was disappointed - I think. Keep safe.
Watching you repositioning the structure was an eye-opener. I really admire your methodical approach and logical problem solving. I find your videos inspirational and thoroughly entertaining. Thank you, Max 👍
The average man me included would have pulled that down and then paid thousands of pounds for a brand new building to be put up buy some overcharging company, your fix it and repair attitude is a lesson to myself and I thank you for that. Cheers Max! Paul in the Isle of Man.
Once again Maximus entertains the masses with his at times alarmingly simple methods which border on alarmingly dangerous to the uninitiated. I always enjoy your uploads you bring much enjoyment to us mere couch potato's.
Love all your videos max. I find UK weather changes dependent on what I'm doing that particular day: Roofing - Wind Mixing cement/laying bricks - Rain Gardening - Rain Go out for walk - Too hot or too cold, rain, wind, sometimes snow Camping/pitching tent - Huge wind, always rain BBQ - Rain, wind, sometimes snow Sitting out in garden - Blistering heat, too hot, too windy for sun shade Kids want to fly kite - No wind! Lock down - Perfect weather.......Not allowed out! FFS!
That bloody impact driver hahaha! sent you some pennies to help you in times like we are in. Get a case or 2 of beer! Well deserved that man! Stay Safe
I'm a gardener, not a builder, but I'm raptly watching this bc if I watch anymore of DJT's Corona virus briefings , I'm going to jump off the side of the mountain. Thanks for the wholesome distraction.
good work as always max! really enjoying the variety from your channel at the moment. I'm glad you've decided to film more of the cabin refurbish, its easy watching, and ponderous. keep em coming!! :D Sam.
I think your doing a grand job of fixing that there shed, me ode son, nice bit a roofing, and a tower that maks a man shake in the wind. Cracking job, well done, looking forward to the next episode.
We are blessed....two posts in the same week...I always think now how would I tackle the task you're undertaking?....I'm always wrong...Proper job.. Best Max..
Max you are an inspiration. Realign and jack up a big shed on your own? No problem... it’s made me realise that it’s just about how much muscle one has but as much about thinking a task through. Thanks for the videos 🙏🌈
99.1!! The big ton-up is coming soon! How about a celebration episode? You drinking many beer and answering posted questions? That beer vid was brilliant!! Shame Mark can’t come round
Definitely missing getting on with stuff at Max's at the moment. We were really hoping to have the organ up and running this Summer. Still, it will give us more incentive to crack on with things when we're allowed to do 'non-essential' work again. Lots of beer drinking to be done at that point as well! :)
I am always learning something new or a better way to do things by watching you work. I enjoy you're resourcfulness and caftsman ship when you tackle a project and you do it mostly alone to boot!
As I am awaiting the delivery of some ridge caps to put on my own leaky workshop roof it was quite motivating to see this video. I have not been looking forward to getting up onto the roof and had asked my nephew to come over and help, then corvid came along. Bugger ! . So, I`m 60, too fat, have a heart murmur, asthma osteo arthritis and 12 months ago a replacement hip , not exactly great shape for skitting about on roofs. At the bottom of the garden, behind where my workshop is there is the local Co-op funeral parlour and dead shed , which incidentally is where my parents ashes are, so if it all goes tits up I could be in the right place for a family reunion. I`ll let you know ...... Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Im 57... read my post just now. Did mine at 55YO as long as you dont fall through and youre OK with heights its relatively easy. Dont straddle the roof putting the ridges on (really hurts). Wear tennis shoes for better grip and have a "safety advisor" watching with a cup of tea and a mobile phone at all times.
@@markc1234golf Hi Mach, thanks for that. I recovered half the roof about 4 yrs ago, without falling to my doom and it`s quite a sturdy thing so I doubt that I will fall through . It`s more of an agility thing. It might give the neighbours something to laugh at during lockdown though. :-)
Best 20 minutes of my day. When you are measuring and cutting the roof sheets on the ground, about 11 minutes in, looks like there is a miniature conning tower off a WW2 submarine lying on its side🙂
Man with ginger hair working on his shed. His name? Shed Sheeran :D I'm so sorry lol. Loved the vid. Appreciate you putting these out to help save us from boredom!
I've noticed that hi-lift jack appears surprisingly often in Max's videos. Usually doing something it's makers never intended. Also envious of that scaffolding tower. I've spent too much time high up on ladders.
I have used the exact same profile and colour steel cladding on my timber 24' x 16' shed and a concrete double width garage. The timber shed felt roof was replaced 159 yrs ago and its still in perfect condition with zero degradation to the plastic coating and no signs of any corrosion
Nice work, I need to redo my V-Crimp tin on our carport, too. Been up for 30 years so has a nice ferrous oxide patina. Jealous of those little scaffolds. Mine are 6’ and almost more than I can handle anymore
Ahh the glass always full on your side brilliant work as always , well most of the time 😂😂, this content is far much better than regular tv real events rather than made up ones 👍top work Max good luck 😉
You are one hard working dude Max. Roof looked great with that gable green, it matches the shed. I wonder what would die first, your Go Pro battery or the drill. I hope you and yours stay healthy and safe and I look forward to your next episode. Cheers from Tennessee across the pond.👍❤️😷🍻✌️
Looks good, nice job. Just a tip I've learned the hard way, if cutting with power tools flip the panels upside down so the sparks don't damage the paint as you will get rust specks from where the sparks burned through the paint and place the cut end up top under the ridge cap as it's bare metal.
I have a free shed in my back garden with a nice pressed steel roof so it looks like tiles. Just for more info the screws are called tek screws. You can get them for wood or metal and coloured plastic caps to match the steel. I did all my shed roofs in the same manner. You've reminded me to order more of the green edge profile stuff lol thanks.
Max, if you widen the footprint of the supports, they won't sink much, even if the bottom layer of blocks was two in it would spread the load better, and not dig in over time.
When you were talking about moving it I was asking out loud "how the hello you going to do that?".... obviously I'm still new to all this high-lift jack and "ratchety strap gubbins" stuff.... great stuff.
I suppose its only fair I send you enough for a couple of beers mate...after all you do entertain me considerably 👍👍 Them bloody chickens are so comical.
Could have stuck that on the back of the ZIL and had yourself a mobile home... :D But it was certainly a fun watch, though moving the thing had me wincing, was half expecting a loud crunch followed by some choice words, but nope, it held, fingers crossed it stays put... :D
