Put a clear glass screen between the shower and the hand basin 48' to 72' max. Clear will allow the room to look big, however dusted or smoked will dimension the size of the room, and will keep the shower water somewhat in the tray area.
For feet, a single apostrophe is used (‘). For inches, a double apostrophe is used (”). Here’s an example. 5′ 6″. This abbreviation would indicate that something is five feet and six inches long.
Your a welcomed man anytime you and your cabin project make the ongoing work that is needed. Not smiling as much, miss that. Be safe and we'll. Tom in Minneapolis
Thanks Tom! Yea I realized when I edited this I seemed kinda down, its because I have been very tired, too many projects at once and no time to recover.
I like your thought of the alabaster color paint on the walls with the walnut trim. It would tie in nicely with the rest of the cabin. You might consider an alabaster colored tile on the sink wall. If there is no protection between the shower and the sink, there will probably be spray from the shower and from the sink that hits this wall. Tile would be easy to wipe down and would also better protect the wall. Really enjoy watching your projects!!
Your cabin is looking really nice 👍 Thanks for bringing us along. I know how much time and effort it takes to video all of this and edit. I feel I can get about twice as much done in my shop when I don’t video the project, so again thank you 😊 Take care 👍
i always vote for the shower curtain / easy to replace and don't have the cleaning troubles of glass / as your drain pan is sloped a curved shower curtain rod will work
Dude....I still do not understand why your channel does not have over 100k subs...baffling...any ways I enjoy your channel..keep going and keep on keeping on..and all the best...!!!
Always look forward to your documenting the progress at the cabin. Thanks for letting us all follow your journey. The bathroom is looking really good. Thanks Mike. Peace!
Watching you working so meticulously makes me feel like I'm building my own cabin...all the pleasure , none of the pain...thanks for building my cabin so well! ha ha!
Looking great, Mike! The alabaster color would tie into what you already have going. Light grey might go good with the shower and dark fixture on the sink. When in doubt, ask Sarah! Best to you both.
Great to see you working on the cabin Mike. also liked the workshop and the progress you're making on that with all the requirement setbacks and additional costs! The walnut trim seems would be a good choice and match the rest of the cabin. Have a good weekend!!
I’d say walnut trim would look great and tie everything together. I think tile would look better then the black corrugated imo. Could you do a short glass wall to separate shower and sink? Either way you go the place looks amazing and your doing a great job! Let me know if you need it rented in the future!
I like the shower. It's not something I would have even thought of doing and using that metal, along with the cabin theme makes it look old school eclectic to me. Painting the bathroom would save time and money right now and you could scratch the walls off your "to do" list. If in a few years you could always decide on tiles or something and you'd have a finished wall to work with. It is all coming together nicely and we appreciate your time recording all this for us to follow along. Central Ohio is going to be in the 70's F the next three days!
I did enjoy the shop videos, would be nice to see your progress. The cabin, you sure do have a work of art there. Long time viewer that has watched all the videos on the cabin. You have done such an outstanding job, kudos! Guess magic hammer had to go in retirement after all that work so far.
I like the continuation of the walnut trim if you’ve got it. Paint for now you can always do something else later and you can move on to another project Bath looks great. I still really like the steel for the shower. Congratulations stay safe
Ciao, che bello vederti all'opera. Io per questo fine settimana mi sono preso una pausa perché ieri sono stato dal dentista... domani torno nel mio piccolo regno e riprendo la mia vita da orso... 😅🤭🙏🤗 ciao ....
This is just a thought when you installed your porcelain sink put a couple dabs a silicone on the backside. For the sink itself I think I would build a box around it all the way to the floor possibly put a door on it or you could slide it in and we're u can get at the plumbing just a thought
Mike the color scheme you have going on inside the cabin is black, white, grey along with the different color wood. I would use the same tiles around the bathroom sink that you used in the kitchen/stove area. It would look great along with the alabaster white paint next to the black shower. Also a small trim of wood where you suggested would also have the bathroom tie in with the rest of the interior trim inside the cabin.
Not sure if anybody's mentioned it but a trick to tightening the shower head arm is to take your adjustable pliers and stick the end in the hole for leverage. The master plumber taught me this years ago.
Hey Mr. Mike , I got a tidbit for y'all . I got a leather punch and I use it to make my own plastic washers like would've been nice between the steel washer and the porcelain sink . The plastic can come from any number of pieces that comes with products people purchase . I myself get powdered drink mixes and they're lids are pliable yet solid . When first I saw the "sink" I thought it was a tub as prospective was not yet established ! Very cool design again dude . Say hi to Queen Sarah , King Mike !!
Great video Mike. Liked the comment about weather being good enough to work on the pond soon I'm really looking forward to it - and that means weather should be good enough to work on shingles too :)
Your piece of heaven is looking good Mikey. Thanks for sharing. I do admire your knowledge of building a house. More power ! Always watching frm Turin Ciao !
Ooh, you could use White or Almond color Subway tile, brick pattern, with bronze color grout around the sink and up to the level of the top of the metal. It would really pop and clean easily. Don't take the metal down, it looks great and will function well in the shower. BTW, the place looks great!
Good Morning Mike. Less than a minute into the video and you were cracking me up....."Holy S#*t", it fits". I love that your cabin is so Unique with all your creative ideas. It's very appealing to the eye in every way. Its like a "pimped out" secret hideaway!!!! Best Regards my Friend!
Loving the progress Mike. It's really coming together! The color scheme of wood, black and alabaster white would look stunning. I'd vote for tile behind the sink. 👍
Another great video thanks for sharing. I agree about the alabaster (mispelled?) because it will lighten up the room and it looks great with the black shower.Look forward to future videos. Thanks
I think you should keep everything uniform. The same everywhere. I think that way it looks like you did it all at the say time not piecemeal. It looks great!
Paint behind the sink same color as walls. Or use wooden slates like lower walls up behind sink. Definitely keep that area unique. As for walnut, i like the continuity.
The bathroom looks very dramatic! Your design sense has made a beautiful cabin. Keep true to what pleases you both and your choices will be easy to make. I did enjoy the shop video. Looking forward to you all spending lots of leisure time there this year.
G'day again from downunder Mike. Before you know it you will be sitting back enjoying the fruits of your labour. Then I can see an extension on the cards, maybe another bedroom/storage room. Keep up the good work mate 👍
Hi you’re the first person I’ve seen in the states that actually does Gyprock the right way like putting the bottom one on first you can use the top one to sit on it and it just makes it so much easier, Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia
I don’t know if this idea has real validity but my dad told me to do the ceiling first and then work down the walls so you can press the top wall sheet up into the ceiling so that if any screws pop or the Gyp breaks around the screw head the wall will hold it in place. In this case the ceilings are wood so no need.
I think that walnut trim on the back wall would be nice paired with the Alabaster paint….you always do a great job on your rooms….I am sure whatever you end up with will be great!!!! It’s your Cabin!!!!😀
You might consider extending the metal panels you used for the shower behind the sink, it would tie it nicely. Adding the walnut trim would finish out.
Okay....going to give you my sweet shower idea. Pull down the metal and the sink. Go from door to door and floor to ceiling with butt jointed wood strips....something pretty and relatively dry. Fiberglass over the wood with one layer 4oz cloth and at least 3 layers of resin letting each layer cure. Sluder strip at the bottom
Looking great, and even better with the shower more finished out. Don't use the walnut as trim in your bathroom, unless it is heavily sealed. It won't take the water very well. Get a piece of Cypress and walnut stain for bath trim. It will take the humidity.
Looking beautiful Mike, I think the alabaster and walnut would really tie things together nicely, and I would tile behind sink as it is more easily cleaned and is more sanitary especially when you dont visit for long periods of time, you always want the bathroom as clean as possible when you leave
