I would love to watch a video showcasing your Nanny and Aunty's dresses! You do them proud with your sewing skills! Looking forward to seeing the finished granny square sweater; so beautiful!
Hi Ellie. I would watch an entire video of your Grammy’s dresses. Or you could talk about one each video for a special segment. They are so interesting. My mom made all her lovely dresses and I wish I had just one or two but they are no where to be found - you are so lucky!! Another great video, by the way!
I love seeing how excited tou are about your cardigan! It does look fantastic!! I would live to see your nanny's dresses anyway you want to show them! Thanks Ellie!!
I’d love to see the dresses at whatever timespan suits you. I always love your videos. I’m in my 70s and it reminds me of the dressmaking my mother and myself did over the years before she passed. Thank you for all your hard work Ellie.❤
Ellie it would be very interesting to see your Nannies dresses they are so beautifully made hope Jensen has perked up & Adams toe is mending both boys looked so cosy under the gorgeous blanket
Ellie, that photo of your nanny and aunties was absolutely beautiful. I made all my own stuff growing up - a lot of us did in the sixties! - and that Simplicity pattern took me right back. I'd love to see more of the vintage clothes, I don't have a preference for format since I watch all your videos as soon as they pop up. And by the way, I love your crochet cardigan!
Lovely podcast Ellie brought back memories of the dress you showed of your Nans your dad and I remember her wareing it she looked lovely in it it was your aunty Norma that made it she was very talented just like you x x💕😊
Ellie, I'd like to see all your nan's dresses in one video please. Your crochet cardi looks fab on you. Little Jensen still has a smile for us even when sick poor darling ❤
The dress has an "empire waist" line which was very popular in the 60s. I had 2 of them in the late 60s. You could trace each piece of the dress onto pattern paper or parchment paper, adding a quarter of an inch for seam allowance. I do this for making sofa and chair covers.
Was the lovely dress made of crimpolene , my mum used to make a lot of my dresses from that fabric when I was young as it didn’t fray which was easy for finishing. Your Ariana is looking gorgeous. So funny I just bought that tool to make a jelly roll rug it’s so clever. Have a wonderful week xx
The dress reminded me of the style of my wedding dress, my aunt made it for me using Style pattern number 3480 and dates from 1972/3. It has the empire waistline with the point in the opposite direction. My dress was view a, it was a versatile pattern as we used the same pattern for the bridesmaids and again for an everyday dress.
Hi Ellie, I love the dress. It might be worth you contacting Stephanie Canada, she deals with vintage patterns, she’s a RU-vidr. I’d love to see all the dresses 🥰. Take care
Jensen is so sweet and cheerful. The colors of your granny sweater are beautiful. It looks so lovely on you. I have never seen a dress pattern like your granny's dress. It's a beautiful dress. Just the colors I love. How is Adam's toe?
Vogue Misses' Dress V8997 - Sewing Pattern and Simplicity S9849 Misses' 1950s Empire Line Dress Pattern White 16 - 24 both have the upwards point, but the neck and skirt are different. I had the vogue pattern years ago and just went down the internet rabbit hole of pattern searching when you mentioned it!😂😂
