With a train from the Wengernalpbahn railway (WAB) and the Bernese Oberland railway (BOB) we travel from Kleine Scheidegg via Wengen to Lauterbrunnen. To bridge the large height difference they use a rack-and-pinion railway.

Beautiful video. But the station you call Allmend, is in fact Bannwald. The Allmend station is the one after that, where no station name was mentionend.

Great vid that is some BLODDY scary decent they certainly know how to grow steep hills there I would be too scared to catch that train I would pay for a helecopter to get me off that mountain scares the hell out of me just looking at the vid THANKS FOR THE VID those people at Wenger would be very fit walking up and down those steep hills all day every day very fit and healthy BLODDY good engineers in that place

Are the trains generating energy (electricity) when braking on these steep mountain sides?

Yes, 3 trains who drive down the mountains generates electricity for 2 trains which are driving up the mountain

I swear there used to be a passing loop just above Wengen unless I'm crazy, I visited Wengen in 2017 and not once did I see the trains pass at the station itself

Yes, there is a passing loop between Allmend and Wengen. But only since 2011. This video was recorded before that year.
