I agree with you about the frustration with traffic! This is also why we only go in once in a while. I almost feel like a ranger needs to be stationed at the entrance with a sign that says "use pull-offs, no stopping in the road." It probably wouldn't help, but who knows. It's a pretty drive, but almost not worth the headache for us!✌️
What a beautiful day you had to visit Cades Cove! So glad you got to see bears along the way. I know the traffic is frustrating, but at the end of the loop, turn right and visit the Campground Store. They have the BEST ice cream! And, you can invest in the Park by buying your ice cream there. Thanks for the video. It was great having Miranda in the video.
I wish the tourists would respect the land and the wildlife. We welcome everyone to our backyard, so to speak, but be responsible and respectful when you come to someone else's home.
Loved this one. I enjoyed the old buildings and scenery. The stopping of cars in front of us is the very reason we stopped going. The last time we went, it took every minute of 4 hours just to get through the loop. I said that would never happen again. I have no patience for people who don't show courtesy to others. This was a fantastic vlog! 🥰
I didn't see this great video as complaining, I saw it as very informative for what to expect. 👍🏻 and thank you for the name mention at the end, that made me really happy 😊💖
Great advice! It is nice to observe wildlife from a distance, but you also need to be conscious of others behind you by pulling off to the side. Heading to the Black Hills soon and can't wait to see the buffalo. However, I won't be in a car to block traffic. The smokys can get very congested. Thanks for sharing!
It is a beautiful place to visit, but I have to agree that the traffic can be frustrating. We experienced the same thing on our visit. Would like to go back on a not so busy day and take it all in, at a slow relaxed pace. Thanks for the honest review and another fun adventure.
I love Cades Cove, but as many times as I have been there, I have never seen a bear. I have seen deer, turkeys, horses, and even a coyote. But never a bear. Maybe they have been there, but I have missed them since they were so far off. We don't go there a lot, so I don't mind waiting in the occasional traffic. Though for people who would actually stop in the middle of the road, and get out of their cars, as Bill Engvall would say, "here's your sign."
Cades Cove is one of our favorite places. We usually plan a whole day because of the jams. We were caught on a hike to that first cabin a few years ago with a mom and 3 baby bears that was stressful
We were driving under the posted limit and were stopping a lot. Plus we took a 3 hour hike on this trip to Cade's Cove. We took in plenty of nature. :)
I have gone through Cade’s Cove a number of times, it has some beautiful views. It can be aggravating when people park their cars in the road. I believe there are many more bears there now than there used to be. A much better chance of seeing a bear now.
I have seen so much wildlife there 🦃🦌🐻 Traffic can be super frustrating 😤 Weekends are out, for sure. I love exploring the cemeteries ⚰ I found out about a cave there that I want to see next time . Vandals should be punished to the greatest extent allowed by law😡 Thanks for sharing your adventures 🐾🦊🐺
@@SmokiesPlus Look up Visit My Smokies and search Gregory's Cave. It is behind John Oliver cabin, but it is closed now, but well marked. I also want to find the Pearl Harbor Tree. I have never seen these mentioned before 🙃
@@SmokiesPlus good to know ! We plan to be there early when they open and also do Abrams Falls hike so I was just trying to figure out when we may be done to see if we can plan other things that day so this information is so useful! Thanks for the reply !!!
This is probably one of my most favorite videos that you've done since I've been watching you.🥰 I used to come down there every year 1999-2005 and things look like they've gotten drastically more crowded and busy. Any advice on when you could come and have the fewest crowds and traffic?🤔
They say first thing in the morning... I still think that's true. I think more and more people are doing that, but definitely less than when we went (mid morning). I appreciate the comment! :)
Bob last me and the family went there was a year ago and it was and 4 hours drive people just don't care anymore about anyone else would just stop I would tell them to pull off to the side it's crazy to just block everybody
I enjoyed your Cades Cove video even the funny joke about bad kids lol but seriously it was very enjoyable and relaxing but hey try 3 hour's in Cades Cove on a Sat have you ever been on a Sat before it's the worst mistake anyone could ever make I remember back in 2014 and 2015 you could go and there wasn't any traffic to deal with and it was actually worth going up to the mountains and enjoy it but now it is so busy with people it's not relaxing anymore because it's like going to New York or Los Angeles except you are in the mountains but have you ever gone through Townsend to Cades Cove before that's a good way to go but of course if a person is near or having no choice but to go that way now I like taking that way because you can get phone service in town there not like if you went through Gatlinburg and you love signal on the drive up more through the mountains but all in all It's always a good day when you see a bear usually when me and my girlfriend go we mainly see lot's of deer and turkey's I am always sharing my pictures on my social media because some ofy friends live out of town and enjoy seeing the deer and whatever wildlife I am able to take a picture of and no don't stop in the road for pictures either always pull over and since traffic is so bad I just walk to wherever my vehicle is in traffic as my girlfriend is in it.
Yeah I got out multiple times when Miranda was driving and the traffic was backed up. I've never come from Townsend. Getting there was fine... Just the traffic once you're in it
I've been to Cades Cove I even made a video of it titled, "Welcome To Tennessee: The Attractions." on my RU-vid channel 😎 that gift shop is where I bought my Bear Key Chain.
Too many tourists, I lived in East Tennessee all my life. I remember when Pigeon Forge was nothing but farm land. This looks like allot places in East Tennessee.
If you're in a hurry, cades cove isn't for you. Go there with the expectation that you'll sit in bear Jams every once in a while. You say you see bears 50% of the time, but fly around the loop. Say what you want about not going the speed limit, you were going too fast if you want to see bears. When we are there, we let every car that gets behind us go by and I do laugh at all the bears people have passed by without realizing it because they're only looking for the ones in the road. 2 of the best encounters we have had happened only because we go slow and LISTEN. The one was in a tree above the truck that no one knew was there. The other was behind a bush we actually passed and I heard a twig snap. Put it in reverse and the bear walked right behind our truck. Slow it down, look, and listen. If you don't like the people, the most visited park in the country may not be for you.
This was for a review. The purpose was to tell people what to expect. You did exactly what a lot of people don't; you let people pass. I don't ever look for bears in the road but in the fields, trees, etc. I love the Smokies and Cades Cove... Because I don't enjoy them the exact same as you it's not for me? Everyone is entitled to enjoy it in their own way. Thanks for watching.
This is my first time watching and it seems to be a lot of complaining going on, I’ve never been to Cades Cove and from what I’ve seen I don’t think I want to.
Y'all need to chill. Youre in the Smokies.. during tourist season. People are enjoying. If you're in a rush. Go during off season times. Trust me. I worked in Gatlinburg. It used to upset me to til l realized.. these are people that never get to enjoy nature. Slow down. Enjoy and quit bitching.
@@jimbarnette3698 what's off-season anymore? Anyhow, wasn't complaining. Letting people know what to expect. People were doing what they're asked not to do and it causes issues.
Cades cove, just another smoky mountains tourist trap. Commerce has ruined the smokies. Too many better places to go. You seen one bear, you've seen them all. better yet, stay home and watch bears on RU-vid if that's all you're after.
@@SmokiesPlus Yes, I love being in nature also but I don't want to exit through the gift shop. I wish there were more and better opportunities in the smokies to disperse camp and that all people left their campsites better than they found them.
