Being a spacemarine would be awesome, but this animation shows a fact that many overlook; the guard is made up of normal people fighting against monsters and beings that can kill what they consither demi-gods, all Astra Militarum/Guard have balls of steel.
@@Counterpoints Bonus points when you have Marines that actually recognize that. Treating the Guard not as cowards or cannon fodder. But as braver souls than they are. After all. An Astartes has a Bolt Rifle, which is basically a mini autocannon. His armor is like a tank. His training took place over decades. And his augmentations boost everything about that man. What does a Guardsman have? The Sacared duty to hold the line, a trusty Lasgun, and maybe some body armor. _That's it_
its ironic; if we read space marine book, the soldiers die like flies. But when we read popular books about the Astra Militarum (I'm mentioning Gaunts Ghost and Ciaphas Cain) it doesn't really seem that way. But you also have to say that Cain has an ego-oriented view, and he is mostly on the sidelines in the big battles, and with the ghosts, the other regiments usually die in droves, with a few exceptions. But I also have to say that although I enjoy reading Abnett's books, I am very conflicted about his... over-creativity (good examples are Enucia and the cognitae) Still, it's a shame that in so many novels Ogryns or Rattlings are almost non-exitants
Under most circumstances, I hate it when a commentator pauses the show to explain their interpretation or blather on, but not this guy. He pauses very little, explains some of the nuances of the world, then carries on! I wish others followed this guy’s format. I’m subbing.
*"Hear me, creature. The Stars were not yours to take. We were born to inherit the stars. By blood and bolter shall we tear a bloody path through you to reach out to them. Be it a hundred, a thousand, a billion, trillion souls: we shall prevail. As one of us falls a million more take his place. You creature, and your kin, lack our resolve."* -last recorded words of SGT. Karran Thelvas, 216th Cadian Shock before his bunker was overrun by Orks and the position was destroyed by an initial explosion from within the complex and then flattened by Earthshaker rounds.
The guard of the impediment of a single straw could be the one to break the candles back. If they all do their job if they all put in their work they could be the straw that breaks the camels back and brings them victory. Even though they're winning doesn't mean they're enjoying it.
Games Workshop needs to leave you alone brother. They have no clue how much free promo they're getting. And you're the only Warhammer content creator I watch. Leave the good ones alone. You're a true gentlemen for taking it in stride. Peace love and respect.
@Counterpoints Understandable. I commend your calm. Keep doing what you're doing brother. You're loved by many. May the Emperor's light guide us all. You will always get a 10-4 from me.
When normal humans were such a thorn in the side of a chaos primarch that he had to destroy one of the two black stone fortresses left to try and destroy them That’s when you know you’re top dog
Remember, it took a freaking massive orbital station yeeted onto Cadia to break the planet Imagine how long Cadia would be standing if the station wasn't thrown to crack the planet
I am still new to warhammer but I love learning about it and I am already invested in warhammer I can't even decide which factions I want to be there are so many and there are all awesome but I would like to be a Dreadnought
@@anthoneyavalos6701 definitely check out the Angels of Death playlist then, theres a dreadnought in there that kicks some serious butt. Also google "Red Dred Dreadnought animation" thats another great one
My space marine chapter is the Cadian Marines, A.K.A, Imperial Regulants. Their goal is to unify all the regiments of the imperial guard and all the space marine chapters under one uniform. There they will take the fight to the xenos, every last one of them. And they all come from New Cadia.
I cant believe 2 years ago I didnt know what Warhammer 40k was all about. I only knew through people talking about it when reading about science fiction horror movies like Event Horizon and other movies. Im 43 years old and i never thought id be so intrigued by WH40k. Wow! They need to make a motion picture. It would be bigger than the MCU and Legendary monsterverse.
Yeah, some people like the rants but tbh we’re gonna get through the Hammer and Bolter backlog and then move into new content/unified timeline and weapons because GW is being feisty
Tyranida can fly? Non warhammer fan here, i always pictured them as ground units and the ones that are giant and fly across space. This is so much more terrifying than anything i understood from the videos and wiki
Ridiculous how they had to cater to ," We NeEd MOrE STRONG WOEMN!" in the 40k universe when there have always been bad ass women like the Cadian Sgt like this to begin with. Hell she had more balls than her escort till he decided she was cool and decided to take up after her. Strong and steadfast without being an augmented transhuman or looking like armburster Abby from the last of us. How is this hard to grasp.
@@Counterpoints Seriously! And they don't even get the female leads right lol, they just turn them into condescending A holes and roid ragers. Cause you know, that's exactly what everyone wants to be... Eh. Thanks for replying btw considering I am sure its a fulltime job managing the channel lol. I love your videos, they let me watch 40k without paywall.
Goes to show you the folks forcing these decisions don’t even understand or have any experience with the lore. Read a book or two and you realize just how WILDLY diverse the 40K universe is.
@@tonyrunner3 Exactly.... Cause you know Sisters of silence, women commissars, Cyrene the blessed lady of the Word Bearers legion, Assassins, they're all disenfranchised. We need women custodezzz cause they're gold yet only men? Preposterous!
I still think they hired Rick from Pawn Stars, just to say: "Best I can do for the animation budget is is $50." Then told the animators to work with it.
Space marines are genetically engineered super beings that have been created to have no fear. Guardsmen are regular humans that are scared to death but still hold the line. Courage isn’t the absence of fear, courage is being filled with fear but still pushing forward. You main Space marines, I main the guard…We are not the same.
Imagine the smell man! My god the smell! People shit themselves when they die, dead corpses both human and tyranid, blood and other stuff. They must be used to it but geez.
Wouldn't you want to pick someone fit/fast/brave and resourceful to be your message runners? I mean if someone is of questionable valour wouldn't want to keep them close to their squadmates and sargeant to keep an eye on them, not off running on their own? Also do tyranids have vox jamming tech? I would think they would be among the few enemies that would not have that, yes they nullify Astropathic Communication but not vox/radio and other forms.
@@Counterpoints Ok, from the 40k books I have read, the officers and NCOs do put some thought into who they pick for what role but they do get foisted with New Recruits into a role, which probably happened here. But in general movies and series it seems they always pick the scared, weakest guy to be the message runner, in my real life experience though I never pick the least experienced and least trustworthy to go off on their own, those I always keep close to the group or with an experienced person.
when I play astra militarum in gladius of war I notice that guardsmen can only survive if they are a lot, with grenade (Krak/frag), with healing upgrade and Commissar with accuracy upgrade. if they don't have one of it then it just a waste.
She only survived because she got more frames than the other guardsmen. Also cadia is still standing, broken but theres still fighting going on the planet
Ok correct me if I’m wrong but how are guardsmen’s touching bloodied Tyranid corpses isn’t the blood acidic or am I thinking of the Xenomorphes from Aliens? I’m still new to the lore so I’m not really sure about tyrandis bio structure but if anyone can give me tips for them in terms of lore much appreciated Hail The Emperor and his Angels
@@Counterpoints which is 100% bullshido also, those were informative and fun, not to mention your face takes up more than 25% of the screen's content. I wouldn't pay for WH+ or whatever the service they sell is called, but i WOULD pay to join your channel to watch these breakdowns. I get a lot more from them than simply watching the animation for entertainment value.
@@AndrewsArachnids appreciated, if you're not already a member or patron feel free to join, I got more Warhammer weapons to build and every dollar counts
tbf its the lore breakdown that got redone, not the animation BUT good news, some scenes got leaked from Space Marine 2 and it looks like Seyama Pedersen (Astartes 2) was responsible. They're darn good
Hi I am an artist that specialises in digital painting I noticed you do some 3D modelling in your advertisements for the desk you were advertising, I can paint to industry standard, like Jaime Martinez, Igor Sid and Miguel iglesias if you want a 40k portrait of yourself give me a holla currently doing it for free as a pass time trying to build a portfolio and thinking of going into freelancing when work and family doesn't get in the way
I havent seen this, but is this the animation style of this entire series? I mean, if so..cool. if its supposed to be good...i mean, iv seen better flash animations from 2001 on Newgrounds.
In a lot of scifi military and duty roles your rank doesn't care about your gender...... Which is also common in Warhammer 40k.....or least when this was made (it also depends on the situation. Like sometimes they do it with Inquisitors but sometimes not. But if I remember it correctly in the Cadia regiments it is standard). This is also done in Starship troopers, Star trek, the Orville and even in stuff like space battleship Yamato.
Yes, there's nothing more gay than a woman. That's why I want only buff male soldiers in my media, thats definitely straight. 💀 Bro, you're just a tourist who's mad that the IMPERIUM OF MAN, the faction famous for grinding every bit of usefulness out of every human, uses female fighters.
Counterpoint, when you're done redoing these then move on and start doing something else. Otherwise you will begin pushing the woke message and destroy what Warhammer actually is. The fans need to take a stand or the powers of chaos win.
@@InternetSupervillain I prefer Warhammer to Star Wars and always have… either way it’s fiction and entertainment and no skin off my nose. If it makes you mad, find another hobby would be my suggestion
Mittlerweile ist es leider nur noch wokehammer 40k. Überall Kampflesben das geht mir voll auf den Sack. Btw ich hasse die neuen Manga Marines. Alles was Warhammer 40k ausmacht wird zurzeit kaputt gemacht. Unendlicher spacemarine Nachschub Waffen und Ausrüstung unbegrenzt. Alles schön sauber und glänzend. Naja was soll's...... .
