I hit that with my stock ATS. I beat a 2019 Mustang GT 5.0 not by alot but winning is winning and you get the point. So I guess what i'm trying to say is.... Its not the gear but how YOU steer? LOL. 🤷♂️🤣
What RWHP are you making.. I so want to do an ATS.... but the Regal TourX looks so cool and is AWD.. and I love small sport wagons.. I am on my 4th right now
The stage1, Full ZZ exhaust, TB, and Tune are well worth it. Pair that with ZZ sway bars, end links, summer tires and rims, BC coil-over, ZZ rotors, pads, and Goodridge brake lines.
They have their flaws for sure, it's a car that needs to be treated right and very carefully to stay together. Don't do extended high speed pulls, and ONLY put good 93 inside, along with proper maintenance will keep it on the road.
thank you finally somebody that knows there shit u wanna mod a ats piston and rods are a must if u wanna not have to worry about blowing up the ltg with forged is a force to be wreaken with thou there tanks once they got em
I have 2014 ATS 2.0T, zzp intake, and straight pipes all the way no cats.. lowering springs, how much can tune add on and how much will it lower the 0-60? By the way love this video super good info. You should make step by step for installation like the e85 kit.
I wanted to comment on the fuel. All fuel is shipped in a pipeline to your area then to the gas stations via tanker truck. That said all 87, 93 whatever is the same at every station. Shell does not refine their fuel and truck it to each shell station.
Seeing videos of v8 swaps. I have a t56 magnum waiting for a project. If I get one I'll start with suspension and brake mods before. Intake, exhaust and tune.
Well its kind of like I was saying. the stock engine LTGs tend to kill themselves when people do top speed runs (mind you this is 100% stock even). Tuned or stock. Ringlands crack or pistons fail. We do not suggest doing top speed runs (flooring it for long period of time on the highway and the like), on stock engine LTG vehicles.
im thinking of buying a 2.0 but the reliability scares me, so much so im thinking of getting a 2.5. how much do they last? 2014+ is the years im thinking of getting.
Some of the 3800 parts on our website may work for you. zzperformance.com/collections/3800 If you're looking for anything specific or have more questions then reach out to our team at customerservice@zzperformance.com
Why Dose top speed runs kill these engines im considering a 2014 but heard bad things about pistons an the top speed thing just trying to gather some information on the platform
I'm having issues with my ats. I keep having the engine mount vacuum line pop off, I put it on and a few days later lean code. Is there any suggestions cause I've tried replacing it, glueing it, and it still comes out and almost no room to get to it. Any alternative mounts? It seems to vibrate minimally driving, but can feel vibration on pulling out on inclines. Not so bad on flats. I'm tempted to plug everything
I'm driving a Buick Regal 2015 2.0 LTG AWD. I guess with all these modifications and more horsepower the stock gearbox (6T70) can't handle. How do you handle that?
We have many products that will fit the 2.0L CTS. If you browse our ATS section on the website the specific CTS products will be called out in the product name or description.
@@DubStepNgroW definitely spring for the cts v if you can afford it, but the 2.0t ats and cts both make similar numbers to other luxury cars in their class
@@ZZPerformanceChannel why does this engine blow up with top speed runs. Does this mean that it needs to be baybeed ? Short periods of full throttle to make it live long?
I ran a 9.53 last week! Racing a Kia Stinger 2021GT-2 that a person I work with got a few months earlier added some new exhaust system and I have 2 other mods this list doesn’t entail and am running 93 octane with no 85 conversion kit. He ran 11.28 with slicks and I ran my Continentals on 18” rims and won 1500$ from it it was close, but the fact my Dont weight over 3450lbs where his Stinger weighed over 4,050lbs.
@@groovymoon FUCK NO! I was doing 121 MPH until seen a hell cat i was gonna smoke but it turned out to be CHP and i got a 106 speeding ticket. $1,000 mistake. 😬 I believe top speed on the stock ATS is 151+.
Been debating the Tuning Kit with remote tuner option, but hear some mixed reviews on how well it worked out. Is the price with an HPTuner we send back, abd credits we just buy with unlimited revision till cars running perfect with whatever mods on it and fuel being ran, or only 5, 10, 25, etc revision and guessing u send back the HP Tuner once the dial in/revisions process is done? I have a Injen CAI to go on alreadyvso wouldn't want to buy another, and have Mishimoto Intercooler Piping Kit for it too, so if get the throttle body I shouldn't need the Piping either right? Also till I figure out the tune thing. Is just ur wider throttle body able to be ran with upgraded hot & cold side Intercooler Piping(both urs & Mishimoto), without a tune. Thats running on 89-93octane with stock everything, except a Cat-Back or axle back exhaust put on with the above mentioned Intercooler Piping Kit & ZZP Throttle Body?
You shouldn’t be running any lower then 91 in your ats. Zzp 67mm throttle body has 2 options with out piping and with. If you don’t have their intercooler buy it with piping and the piping you get with the throttle body is the same as what comes with their throttle body.
Take a look at 30 seconds in, your lower coolant tank looks empty. Every ATS video I ever see, the coolant is always low. Surprised to see that on the ZZP ride though. People are going to get sick of seeing me say this, but that dang y return was leaking on mine and corroded the pins on my ECU and the wire harness. Check that y man.
What do you mean dont run the LTG at top speed? i live in germany and i paid for the whole speedometer and i want to use the whole speedometer. Jokes aside but i cant top speed my tuned LTG engine?
You certainly CAN, but we don't recommend it. The stock LTG engine has a history of blowing itself up on long, high speed runs. If you really want to push it, we suggest installing forged internals first.
@@ZZPerformanceChannel mhm no i dont want to beat it for long but you know how it is, doing a bit of top speed on the autobahn for a few minutes. That will be alright?
The stage 1 kit will give you 55 to 65 horsepower overstock. The stage 2 kit will set you up for a larger turbo, however, there are alot of variables on how much power will be gained depending on your set up. If you would like more info, send us a message at customerservice@zzperformance.com
If you're looking for the absolute best fuel mileage, we'd recommend just keeping it stock. However bolt ons and a tune won't diminish your gas mileage, you'll just get worse mileage because of how much fun you'll be having.
All of these mods will either replace or add to the stock internals. If you have any specific questions, reach out to us at customerservice@zzperformance.com.
I have a CTS 2015 awd could I do the stage 1 remote tune. I’ve heard it goes both ways yes and no but I have seen a dude on Instagram named bat caddy has your cai and that was the only issue so is possible for me to go this route?
As long as your CTS has a 2 liter LTG engine, you can remote tune with us. If you have any specific questions about it, reach out to us at customerservice@zzperformance.com
0-60 depends a lot on the conditions of the road weather, your tires, and driver skills. Not to mention auto vs manual. All these factors and more make it a not very reliable statistic to compare car to car.
It will largely depend on your build and what you've done with your ATS. Shoot us an email at customerservice@zzperformance.com and we can give you an estimate.
Why in the hell would they make a car this high dollar which advertises the speed and performance right out of the box but if you drive it hard without spending 5k more it will die!! Thats just stupid!!
I want to get one of these for my 75th birthday. AWD FOR sure and 4 turbo. I have liked it since it was released. I started working the turbo development in the early 70s. 2022 might be a good year for me to a 2015 or Similar year.
Why are there no stage kits for the LTG Regal? You guys have a good selection of LTG mods but not for FWD. Kinda sucks that the older Regals got all the love and the new ones get pushed aside because of the ATS and Camaro.
Fell in LOVE with this. Didn't buy it because I realize I NEVER see these on the road anymore. Meanwhile I see 2005 Honda Civics daily even abused ones. I assume these all ended up in junkyards?
@@xImaginereal i got a 2014 cts 2.0 also bought it a year and a half ago with 80k miles and it ran great and didnt have a single problem besides the touch screen. i hit 130 a couple times and everything was fine until january when i floored it out of a parking lot and busted a piston ring. had to put a new engine engine in it but its doing great again as of now
Love how everybody asking why no top speed runs etc... Ya'll acting like you're just driving 140+ mph every day or something. This car isn't a race car it's a 2.0l you want a top speed car go buy a v8. Either way might get a ATS to cruise around in
legit the stupidest list they forgot the only mod u need if u acc wanna run mods without blowing YOU NEED FORGED PISTON AND RODS for these ltgs no if and or buts they all blow without em everyone whos gone forged is still on the rode ppl who didnt not so much ya its pricey but so is new engine
No one ever talks about wideband sensors, but I keep seeing everywhere that they are strictly necessary. If I get a pre-16 ATS do I need to install a wideband before doing ANY mods??? Even a tune??
Awesome..... Have you guys looked at the Regal TourX for mods? I LOVE wagons.. #1) Saturn SW2 - 5 spd...| #2) Protege V 5 speed | #3) Mazda 3 2.3 5 spd and Now #4) Acura TSX Tech Wagon.... Next I think will be the Buick Regal TourX...... AWD Turbo...300+ HP and a more competent chassis would be the bomb in that car...
how much does it cost for a full kit to build an ats to its max potential? i have a 2016 ats and ready to build it. how much hp/tq can you make with these ltg motors? i saw the zzp track car made 400whp? is 500+ achievable without nos?
We have made over 600 on an LTG, Ryan's ATS makes over 500 on our Z57 turbo. Matt's drag car makes mid 400's and runs 10.0 in the quarter. They are pretty solid engines and can make some jam. If you want a quote on a full build email Service@zzperformance.com and we can get you a quote.
sounds pretty risky on top of the other mods with stock internals/ transmission but definitely worth looking into. i heard theyve built an ltg ats with 500+ whp doesnt sound like the most reliable daily driver tho
I wanna do a zzp intercooler a cated downpipe a aluminum radiator up graded ignition coils catch can and aluminum surge tank and a tune oh and zzp exhaust how much power will I make amd maybe a bigger trottle body
Didn’t get the 13 ats, the dealer lied to me about a few things. So bought a 14 ats rwd 2.0t performance trim off carvana! Just bought an open box ZZP larger throttle Body, CAI, and catch can off eBay, Also bought the strut brace, iridium plugs and coil packs from you and some billet caps! Those are what’s going on the car right after I take delivery! Then the CAI and catch can etc will get put on. I want to start off protecting those pistons from knock. But my local station has 93 and I plan on doing tune, downpipe, e85 this spring!
