Great video! I just went to a local car audio place to talk to them about replacing and or upgrading the navigation monitor on my 2010 Cadillac CTS....he made it sound like a gruesome ,super complicated ,hideous process ..... Needless to say he didn't earn my business.....you are obviously more knowledgeable than that guy and explained everything incredibly well so that us non techies could understand...thank you
Is it possible to just replace the pop up screen for a new version? The screen on my car has a huge " burned " spot in it ....I've also heard alot about the brains in the Cadillac not accepting new screens?
Everything went great and thank you for this video. My only issue is my AC controls no longer work. Gonna pull everything today and do some really fun troubleshooting.
@@gbxincharge4343 its because the radio has to have the cars vin number input into the system in order for it to work. I honestly dont think everything will work on the radio if its an after market radio because it would need to allow the vin input. The issue is Cadillac did this a theft deterrent which is dumb. So if you even went to replace this radio with an authentic Cadillac radio it wont work and will lock up unless you program the cars vin number into the new authentic radio system.
@@gbxincharge4343 you can take it to like Cadillac or Gm and they may charge a fee to do it but some have gotten it done for free so it just depends on your area and what they offer. Or if you can find someone with the handheld device for cars ( i forgot what its called) but if they have it I believe they can do it with that also.
My navigation screen doesn't come up All the lights don't work I don't know if the AC's on or not other than when it starts getting cold All the controls work but the navigation doesn't come up is this an easy fix possibly or should I upgrade to the Sony and if so how much is it I have a 2009 CTS v
Thanks for your videos; they're very helpful. I'm almost ready to install the head unit and the 3018 wiring harness. Your two videos never show hooking up the main large plug to the harness though. :-) I guess it's the big plug where the cd used to be, but I was just wondering what orientation, etc. Thank again.
I’m having troubles with my chime volume and a static fuzzy sound from the radio I can’t find where my potentimeter is to adjust it did you have that problem?
Would a price of lil over 2,000 to replace 2013cts radio be good or bad? I'm a gray haired granny who loves my cadillac!!(especially the speed!!) The 2,000 is remove and install oem parts .
I would highly recommend not doing a replacement OEM unit. We could put an aftermarket unit in that would have a lifetime warranty with all new 2023 features
@@octanetvchannel Ok, young man, where are you? How long would it take? I don't mind driving!! I'm a retired truck driver.!! Would prefer staying in the U.S. though!
Link to picture of the install: drive.google.com/file/d/1dldBW_5HT-331IRa8uxP6LaPn_1oX00Z/view?usp=sharing Again: Thank you so much for this video. It helped me immensely!
I have a 2010 cts and my speakers work when I play the radio but when I connect to the aux in the middle console I can only hear music out of the drivers side of the car is there a way I can just fix that or do I have to do this
I have a 2012 CTS Base 4 door sedan with a Bose system...when I called Cadillac they say it's a digital system, and so in the instructions, it says to not use the LD-GMOS100RPAD 4 pin cable. It says for digitally amplified systems, (and Im guessing mine is digitally amplified because of the Bose subwoofer in the trunk ceiling must have an amp nearby) , just connect directly without the jumper. But in your video you say don't use the jumper if I don't have a Bose system. Which means use the jumper if I do right?
I would contact Metra electronics and ask them for verification because they're the ones that designed it. You could try it both ways and see if it does work I believe the jumpers are in line resistors to help but I would clarify that with them first
@@octanetvchannel Thank you, will do that but do you mind telling me your setup? Do you have Bose all around with the sub in the trunk ceiling? and if so are you using the molex jumper or not? Thats the only difference I see in the instructions between analog and digital, digital using no jumper. Thats unexpected as I'd think the digital signal would need the jumper with the resistance
I have a question about where you got this equipment and how did you match it to the vehicle interface because I’m looking for harnesses for my 2011srx and can’t seem to find anything that will retain all of my controls
Two questions: first, I don’t see a usb on the front of that unit. Does it work with the stock usb in the center console? And second, do the steering wheel controls work?
The USBs are on the back of the head unit. They have a cable that runs off that you can put in the center console or any location you would like. Yes the steering wheel controls will work with a steering wheel interface which is located at the description of our video
Can you do this to a cts that doesn't have the pop up display? I have a 2013 cts luxury AWD and have been looking to update it so it has navigation and bluetooth
I'm not sure exactly which system was in this one but I know is the Bose and I believe there's two different types of amplifiers but I cannot remember which one was in that.
