I have a 1997 Cadillac engine lathe that has a threading issue. I am hoping that someone who knows these machines could help me troubleshoot the issue. When I engage the half-nuts, the motion of the handle is not consistent. If I grab the handle, the leadscrew stops. If I grab the leadscrew near the headstock, it makes a clicking noise. Originally I thought it was the pin that connects the coupler to the leadscrew. Unfortunately, that was not the case. If anyone has any ideas, please leave a comment.
