Yup. I agree. One of the best jobs done by Cadisen. I also have Seagull 1963 watch with the same movement ST1901. Mine goes also bit faster, 12 to 15 sec per day which is way better than 6 sec slow per day :+). Honestly, I am bit amazed how reliable that ST1901 movement is. I bought mine few years back and still running well. As for this Cadisen Patek Philippe homage, it is well done. Very well done for the price. Not whole lot to complain about and as you said, probably the best value for the money for the watches that uses ST1901 movement. Thanks for the review, Ivan. Don't have a "who gives a crap" :+) day, ha ha.

Haha thanks Alex - to be honest I rarely have “don’t give a crap” days, but I often do feel that I don’t give a crap about these token papers and “warranty” cards 😆

As a person of simple means and pleasures it occurs to me that you have to be wrong in the head to spend all that money on a Patek watch, when the Cadisen does more or less exactly the same job for several hundreds of thousands less. It just shows doesn't it that being very rich, doesn't equate to having much of common sense............
@PerthWAtch
@PerthWAtch 7 месяцев назад
Hahaha well said. However with Patek it’s potentially a case of the rich get richer, given they have a high likelihood of price appreciation!

Great review and the watch certainly looks great at this price point. The main thing with Cadisen is they have a slightly better QC than other Chinese brands that literally have zero QC sometimes, and yet Cadisen watches are still priced competitively. The ST1901 movement manufactured by Seagull has a long and interesting history and is available with or without the "swan neck" regulation, good to see Cadisen chose the slightly pricier and easier to regulate version. Of course such homage watches will never compare to the original Swiss designs they are based on but at 1/1000 the price who cares, right? :)

Well said. I like your comment. Cadisen has been improving gradually and are getting closer to being the price leader in this segment. Certainly they are now one of the better budget homage brands.

Based on my experience of Cadisen watches, not really...my homages for 62mas and yachtmaster have misaligned indices with the worst on the YM, scrapped off minute marker on the RO. The only good condition one with a bit of a loose bezel is on the 38mm vintage sub homage. I am currently waiting for the exact same mechanical chrono and keeping my fingers crossed. My PD watches surprisingly have better QC, even my latest Steeldive (grey sub) sucks with bad printing on the bezel..the 12 o'clock marker is misprinted to the left while the 15min marker was off to the right making the entire bezel has a plus 1 to 1.5min for a 15min bezel marker

Newer ones are better. I can see why you’d feel that way if yours were older models.

Thanks for another great review! The watch looks great, just wish Cadisen had used their logo instead of their written name. And there's no reason to state "sapphire" on the dial. These both unnecessarily clutter up a magnificent looking dial and detract from the overall watch quality, IMHO. Always looking forward to seeing your vids!
@PerthWAtch
@PerthWAtch 11 месяцев назад
Haha you make good points. I think they were being somewhat slavish in the homage - Patek has two lines of words there so they just did the same thing, although with less meaningful words!

Yours is the only one iv'e seen with the swan neck , no reviewers or sales nor mine but i will say it's an accurate movement (when i got it working ,bad luck i guess + the reset is constantly off 2 secs ) & no denying the value if all's good plus the dimensions are spot on , the strap on the top time hom' is spectacularly dreadful unlike this blue model . I'd say you did well here Ivan .

I’ve seen others with the swan neck regulator… I think it was on forum posts rather than a video, but then again I pretty much don’t get time to watch horology videos… I am now noticing that the product listing does not stipulate the swan neck so you’re right, I got lucky!!

I will never understand people who buy this Chinese crap 🤦 I would rather have cheap Casio watch then any of those clone Chinese. I would never trust person wearing this type of watch.
