Jackie, I so admire all your half and half wraps. I have yarn for two, but so far have not started. How I wish I could somehow get your consistent drive and attention to your projects. You and Caitlin both have such wonderful focus. I look forward to whenever we see you together again. Meanwhile, I will watch for these lovely flyby shows. Yay, Sally for doing so well. One thing I learned from the poet Louise Glück is that we don't get to choose what feeds us. I don't get the half-and-half thing myself, but I totally respect it, given over as I am to my own “compelling projects.”

Sally, so good to see you and to know that you are ok to not have your last chemo round . I was in a similar position myself, so tried and unwell and then my oncology team let me know that I could skip my last round, It was such a relief. Sending you all my love. Jackie, glorious knits. I am currently on my second half and half, in a zingy lime green/yellow and soft neutral beige, knit in Drops Alpaca. So soft and pretty. It took me ages to decide on colours and then I told myself that I can just keep knitting ones in ALL the colours!! That hood is awesome: I will be making one of those for sure and I can see many christmas gifts for next year being made too 💌

I have Pale Mushroom in my H+HTW queue, and this episode convinced me to push my comfort zone and pair it with Super Orange.Turns out that combination is very striking. We are all so lucky to have a glimpse at the wonderful ways you have embraced your love of knitting, brought it into your life, played, experimented and learned. I enjoyed your review of the knits you knit over and over, Jackie. For me, it’s my trademark baby hoodie that I have made over 1500 times in the last 40 plus years and no two are the same. Some people knit socks for comfort or as an easy cast on, I cast on a hoodie. This year I will be knitting for a third generation baby- how amazing is that! I have not made any of the patterns you love, but the and half is on my list- I am wary of long projects for fear I won’t finish and using the intended yarn is quite cost prohibitive for a pensioner, so it remains on the list, but….Currently, I am on a kick knitting Saltwater Newfoundland mitts- so much fun and the mitts are so warm and squishy. I am on my 11th pair for family and friends and they are well received. A few years ago I made unicorn cowls and hats for 6 of my granddaughters and they loved them- all in different colours so no two the same. I agree that there is a comfort in knitting the familiar, tried and true. I also love a challenge and learning something new, but then I can fall back and fall in to the familiar. Great news, Sally! Enjoy your break and good luck with the radiation. My children’s dad has finished his chemo with good success and is now on immunotherapy for the next while (very few side effects, which is nice).

Now I don't feel so bad...I'm on my second Half and Half and already looking to make another one. My first was made in Herriot Fine Alpaca and is so warm. They are addictive! I love your color combinations! Just found you channel, so I'm a first time viewer.

I have gone through the cancer journey also. It really makes you reflect on life. You and your mother are so special as I’m sure she is to all of her children. She has become very special to me also. Those colours are beautiful together. I was never able to get into the half & half wrap. Just not a fan of garder stitch. Yours are lovely. I am crazy about linen quill. My dear dear dear Sally , I needed a last minute gift to come up with late yesterday. So what does one do, but pull out the bread cookbook and make Sally’s bread. As I made it I thought about you and was wondering how you are doing. What a joy to see your picture pop up on my iPad this morning. Having made this journey with my Mother , I know there are so many up and down days. Soooo, told on tight because there are many of us out here that are holding you in our thoughts and prayers. And tell your daughter that I also used a lot of butter to grease the bowls and pans. Didn’t she see the Julia movie?….
