Lately, I have noticed a great interest by small Cafe Racers.
And the Suzuki GN250, or even the GN125, are among the most wanted small motorcycle for a Cafe Racer project.
When i call it Suzuki GN 250, i am also referring to the Suzuki Intruder 250, as it is called in some Countries.
This video will show you a very good example based in this motorcycle.
A project built by Hélder Moura, Owner of Dream Wheels Heritage, located in Portugal, with an original design from Nuno Capêlo/Capêlo's Garage.

At 2:56 -- lets just be honest here. That's just plain ugly. The racer number on the too-short tailpiece is a stupid affectation. The front fork travel has been shortened way too much, and btw guys you are probably throwing away power and ride ability with the air box removal. I know the original stock Suzuki ain't very sexy, but at least it could carry two people with comfort. Had adequate suspension travel, and the handlebars were much more comfortable. Since this is still a slow pig of a bike, what is the point in turning it up to make it look like a racer? Meretricious is the word that comes to mind. As for the "divine proportion" thanks for making me laugh out loud. This deification of an ugly little rat bike is hilarious. Useless pipe wrap just adds another ugly cliche.

Nice bike, good donor bike too, I've seen some guys in China and Indonesia doing great things with this platform. Dog's won't be a problem, they all seem to like me, even "the vicious" one's, i grew up with Pitt bulls, Doggo Napolitano's, Rottweilers, Dobermann's, Doggo Argentina, Bordeaux Dog's, Great Dane's and Boxer's, it's not the dogs but the owners ! In my ample experience, it's small dog breeds that are more dangerous like poedels and terriers but the Golden Retrievers and Colliers aka lassy are also more prone to bite human's, but again it's all down to the owners. Great video 👍.

Lol. Maybe i didn't express myself as i should. From my experience, most dogs don't like postman's, but only because they touch the house mailbox without permission. I think that is only a question of defending their territory. :) Cheers.

Yes .Dogs are man's best friends, but some owners are not as considerate as they should.I grew up with dogs as companions and I missed them a lot after more than 50 years. Blessing to all.

I prefer the Suzuki Tu250x. Basically the same bike, but looks better unmodified or with a few modifications like the blinkers and the rear light

well done, very sharp looking bike. I wonder what brand tires those are? I'm also about to start a cafe racer project with my '81 honda cm200. I also have a 16 inch rim in the rear, I find it difficult finding tires with that much side wall.

I see some DIY'rs using 1 inch PVC watering pipes as spacers (other than metal) in lowering their forks. This strikes me as insane. Say for example you hit a curb or other object that bottoms the forks. Would that smash the plastic spacer, and bottom the forks, stop wheel and kill the rider? Any views on not using shortened METAL spacers?

One of my favorite topics: small displacement motorcycles. The Suzuki GN 250 in the 90’s was used in my country as police motorcycle to put heavy cops on top to deliver fines on illegally parked vehicles and the GN 125 is still used as delivery vehicle. So is widely available. Looking this bike my first thought was “Gee!” Achieving an aggressive but elegant appearance that is so impressive, that trully reveals the fine work of both Nuno Capêlo and Hélder Moura. Bravo, bravisimo! It is curious but last week I bought a Chinese clone of the venerable GN but in 150 cc to start a less expensive project but more in the way of an scrambler, due to the nice unpaved mountain roads so close to my home city

It is hard to say because it is a rebranded motorcycle but it seems to be Wuxi Yunlu YL 150-9. I bought it used

The Suzuki 250 is a practical starter bike for a project like this. As you indicated, many rider training schools in our area use this model. This bike has very clean lines and is proportioned correctly. Nice work!

The bike presented on the begining is not a gn250 its a gn125 it has diferente frames and the 250 is all bigger and better!

Belíssima. I always stay admired with the projects that you share with us, but I need confess that I stay a bit envious everytime. I wanna do a project like these for small cc (less 400), but the laws for modifications here in Brazil are so restrictive or ambiguous. You can request a lot of modifications, but you never know if who will evaluate your bike will give a ok or deny what you did. Without speaking about how expensive the bureaucratic process can be. The other options are the modern classics or if you be luck to find a old bike in good state (almost everyone that has one don't sell it). I can't understand why Yamaha didn't bring the S400 to here yet.

You can always try a more classic Cafe Racer approach. If you try something like i did with my Honda Cb 125 B6, I am sure that you won't have any problems. And with older bikes it is even better, because most people don't know how the bike was in the original state. :) Um abraço.

Caro amigo, mais um belíssimo vídeo a alegrar nossa semana. A moto ficou, realmente, bela, irretocável, daquelas que você quer na sua garagem. Quero acrescentar que o cenário também ajudou, que belo lugar! Todas as cenas foram gravadas na Madeira? Aproxima-se o dia em que vou conhecer a terra de meus avós e passei a colecionar dicas, mas em Portugal são tantas e tantas... Por fim, como brasileiro gostei das imagens de nossos correios... um charme, eu diria, ainda que tenha sido por conveniência, como explicado no comentário abaixo. Obrigado amigo. Em relação às imagens da Madeira, só mesmo a fotografia no minuto 4:20 e as partes em video no final. As restantes foram tiradas na Cidade do Porto junto ao Rio Douro. Posso garantir que a Ilha da Madeira é mesmo muito bonita. Tive a sorte de a visitar à uns 3 meses atrás, e foi a ilha mais bonita que já vi até hoje. Mas a cidade do Porto também é bastante bonita. :) Obrigado pelo comentário. Um abraço.

Im working on a Suzuki Gn 400. You can use the rear frame very well to make a brad style bike out of it. Thats how i done it now and it looks awesome.

RACER TV tudo de bom para você. Ahhh... tenho uma notícia triste. O motociclista tio Bel, quase centenário, sofreu um acidente com seu Can-Am Spyder em um passeio da turma (foi no município de Cajá-PB, BR-230). Creio que ele teve algum problema antes (AVC ou parada cardíaca ou mal súbito, pois não tinha como acontecer). Enfim, ele não resistiu e veio a óbito. Creio que foi feliz, afinal fazia o que mais amava. Procura por "perdemos o 'Tio Bel'" na Internet. Forte abraço.

Unfortunately, things are more complicated than most people may think. I use this "robotic" voice created by software, because i'm Portuguese, and my bad english accent (and voice), can ruin the documentary character that i like for my videos. I already tried a real american voice in one of my videos, but things didn't worked as i expected. Curiously, the robotic voice sounds very good for all non english natives. Cheers.

Sim, o Hélder foi connosco (pessoal da rua machines entre outros) neste DGR inclusive. Estava disfarçado numa belíssima vespa clássica azul bebé. palpita-me que as motas dele ainda vão ser alvo de mais uns vídeos. forte abraço e continuação do excelente trabalho que tens feito.
