A few months ago, my best friend died at the age of 19. The months before he died, we played this song as loud as we could. It was played at his funeral and now it is his anthem.

This is probably one of my all time favorite songs now. It sort of makes me happy and sad at the same time... ya know?

This song means a lot to me because 12 years ago I went to the gas station for a snickers and the clerk told me they were all out.

When you're Spider-Man riding your bike through your old neighborhood with your childhood best friend and the wave of nostalgia hits.

Played this song non stop eversince I turned 17, now I'm turning 18 in 5mins and I can't stop myself from creating my last bit of wondrous words that fully encapsulates how seventeen became the best year of my life If you're wondering, how one could set a blaze yet enjoy the warmth of being seventeen? In a year I became severy depressed, lost an important figure in my life, had my virginity taken away, smoked, became intoxicated (a lot), did dumb things, lost an almost 2 years relationship, had a pure conversation with someone out of lust Yet, I still managed to Become the top 1 of our class, aced all my exams, led a club without much supervision, wrote a hundred articles, competed on journalism, achieved highest honors, graduated with flying colors, met wonderful people They always told me - or as I saw online, that you should enjoy the last year before turning to a legal age, because this might be the only year you'll get to enjoy everything without much guilt and supervision, to fully enjoy and encapsulate what being a teenager is like 17th, you are the best year, indeed, surely, just like what they told me - I just hope my 18th year would be just as good, like the previous year

so... she is haunted by her past traumas and the broken, hurt girl she was that was affected by them. she runs away from it her whole life, until the end when she finally destroys the version of herself that was hurt-- symbolizing how she finally let go of her past. and he was there for her the whole time. i cried watching this video, i hope everyone can symbolically burn the dark parts of their past

Seeing Peter and Harry unite, biking down to their good ol' Midtown High School, and chatting together in Spider-Man 2 was just too EMOTIONALLY HEARTWARMING. HIT ME RIGHT THERE!!

you can really feel the love matt (the lead singer) has for Juliet (the woman in the video who is also his wife) through the video and the amazing song he wrote. his emotions practically bleed in every one of his songs and his performances are truly spectacular. he has such an amazing passion for his music and it an easily be seen here. this man is going places and so is the band. in the future, they will be remembered as artists that did something great.

I remember sitting on a bench in my quiet town, cold beginnings of winter hitting me- I never liked the cold- and the clock hit 12:00AM..I cried for the first time in a long time, in the turn to my 18th birthday. This song blared in coincidence in my friend's car as she pulled up to the brick walk way where I sat. I'll never forget that moment. It started sleet-raining and she took me on a drive to cheer me up. As this song went on I sang it loud and proud like the fun idiot I could still be back then, and my friend who was easily annoyed by 'radio music' jammed and sang along with me in time for the @3:00 mark... I bought my "first" pack of cigs-- and the clerk didn't even card me, just that one time, of course. We both knew I was about to be left out in the cold from friends and family alike, I'd probably become homeless in due time thanks to my failing health, and life would only get more difficult from there. True nihilists at heart. One day we both lit cigarettes and just sat in silence, overlooking our usual spot over at the river dam. Eventually she left, too. This song always gives me bittersweet feelings. I never got to feel like a kid, be a kid, have a 'normal childhood'; but, even now I do miss those days for what they were.

This is honestly why I like Cage. Their heavier punk songs are nice. Their bass is exhilarating. They can be so full of energy, but this right here is what I want from them. A less formal sounding, more raw coldplay sound. Something relatable and great to either chill out with or bite through a fit of depression with.

I go back to this song from time to time to reflect on my life when I'm depressed, self-loathing, and feel like I'm lost in life. It reminds myself I have to let go, and move on from my past no matter how much it screwed with my present. It's hard to look for the answers. But, it won't stop me from doing it. I know it's worth it.

I met my fiancé when I was 17 and I was beyond depressed looking for a way out, tried to committed suicide at 17, then I met him. This year we celebrated our 6th year anniversary and we always play this song on our anniversary date. It’s been our song, since I was 17. I can’t wait to play this at our wedding next year, it’s like the lyrics perfectly describe us, how I feel about him and how he feels about me.

I listened to this as I was going through chemo. I felt my youth was being ripped away from me being diagnosed with incurable blood cancer at 36. I still have a baby face, but so afraid. Those lyrics. I felt life became pouring rain. This song was on heavy repeat during my treatment. I wanted to run away right before the most intense part of my treatment and just drive in my car. This song helped me get through an awful time.

I recently said to someone that people made it through the 90's because of heartfelt songs like this (referring to a lot of 90's alternative) that hit everyone and because it was on the radio you knew it. That we all might feel this way sometimes when coming of age and feeling incredibly overwhelmed and there's a small tad bit of solace when you can smile and listen to a song like this.To just feel the wind, get off your damn phone, smile at someone and know that we all fight a hard battle.

Ah. I love reading people’s comments about how much this song means to them and how this song was there for them at moments of their lives. This song was the first song I heard from them, it was while I had my first break up from my first love. It was painful and I felt alone and I was just, confused? But hearing this song some how brought comfort and I felt better. It’s not thing big probably, but it helped me a lot during that time. I finally saw them this past summer and I remember not seeing this song on the set list, I was a little upset but was still excited to see them. Half way through their set list, guess what starts to play??? Yeah. Cigarette Daydreams. And I lost it. I cried so much. It was beautiful. I will never forget it.

First time I listened to Cage the Elephant was live at a music festival last year. I was waiting close to front row waiting for another act on the same stage. I heard their name and I was a little skeptical on how good they would be. They put on a great show and have been listening to them since them.

The new Spider-Man 2 game brought me back here when you bike with Harry back to your old highschool in the beginning the instrumental is playing. Such a cool moment

Im 20 in college and this song takes me back to my last year of high school, the fear of the unknown, not knowing what it was going to be next, saying goodbye to close friends you spent a lot of time with. I remember exactly the moment i heard this song for the first time, i was in school, in a patio, with a bunch friends , talking abt life and what we wanted to be, suddenly i hear thin song coming from my friend cellphone, it was one of that moments where you realize ''these are the good old days''. Anyway, enjoy your teen years guys, you don't have to be the most popular or the smartest, find your people, share w/ them this moment of your life. Everything is gonna be okay.

This used to be our favorite song, back when she was 17 and I was 16. She used to steal a few cigarettes from her dad for us to smoke on her roof at night, and we would tell eachother unattainable dreams we had for eachother. Looking back, I suppose it was just puppy love, but those feelings stay etched in your soul. She's married and happy now, and I can only be happy for her, but I still get emotional to this song.

i think that this video was about a woman, killing her old self, which was represented by the girl in the trunk. She had a past of maybe sexual harassment, hard childhood memories. She set all of that ablaze when she burned her car. She was finally relieved from all the weight on her shoulders. She felt free. So she was able to dance again. And stop running.
