Stumbled across this video which was very helpful. Looking to book accommodation in may next year for 25th anniversary. My instruction from the wife was "somewhere in north Queensland" . We are coming from Melbourne. I went AB purely because its not as busy. This video validated my decision. Thank you so much.

Thanks so much for the feedback and glad it helped you make the decision. 😀 Airlie Beach can still get pretty busy (especially with rowdy backpackers) being at the hub of the Whitsundays, but If you travel out of school holidays, then this should be more tolerable! I don't want to confuse the situation, but Port Douglas could be a good option to (depending what you want to do), and especially for an anniversary!

At 12:35 -- These average temperatures for Airlie Beach/ Whitsundays in winter tend to be taken from records since the 1980s through to around 2010 or so. However , winter averages in the last decade have shown the average winter minimum is now around 15 degrees Celsius and Bowen at the northern end of the Whitsunday region had an average July minimum of 16.4 in July 2023 !

So glad I found your channel!! My dad and I dove the GBR from Airlie Beach in November, 2019 amidst the wild fires in your country, and right before COVID hit the states. In that five years time, I will be returning in January, 2025 and am planning to honeymoon there with my soon-to-be wife!! I see you are coming out with videos, and was wondering if you have plans to do one on couples activities? I will also be sure to check out your blog, and love your insights / advice!!

Hi There and thanks so much for the feedback and glad you like my channel. I feature mostly outdoor and adventure activities but since I only travel with Matt, It's all about "Couple" things to do - but can help others too. Unless you're talking romantic things to do, which there is sometimes a few things included in there as well, but not as much as the Outdoor :)

On another Note - If you're coming back out here for your Honeymoon, then can I suggest looking into Port Douglas as well. I have plenty of videos and blogs featured there and think it's a better Honeymoon or couple destination - With an added pricetag to match :)
