@@bellcranel8873 He's giving her the credit for everything her teammates do. They move and get open. They make the shots they take. Everyone gives her a greenlight to take deep threes. It's a team sport.
@@morongene Yeah bud, that’s literally what an assist is: you get statistical credit for points scored by a teammate because you passed it to them at the right time. Sorry that offends you.
@@ChrisH-yw9uq Wish away for her future but now she a loser who got her KARMA crying at the interview just like the KAREN she is LMAO .. Her next stop is ONLYFANS.
Her pace is too much for these girls. She plays with a pace that you don't normally see in Womens basketball. As much as people hate on womens bball, this girl right here is a straight BALLER. I'm a fan lmao
seriously!! I was actually even more impressed by the passing - which is to take nothing away from the shooting -- just that the passing was out of this world
Damn, shes got a quick release. She also scans the court really well. Her cross court assists highlighted that especially, as the defense shifted, she found the gap and zinged it in. woo!
As a Nebraska fan, I'm by no means in any way an Iowa fan....but it's hard to deny she's extremely talented. Wow, what a performance, I didn't realize she was 6' either.
I’m sorry to say this is my first time seeing highlights from her, going forward I’ll be trying to watch as much of this woman as I can because holy SHIT she’s amazing
@bryantthompson6817 Fair enough. I'm a Hawkeye fan but I personally believe even if Caitlin has a 30+ point triple double, it's going to come down to the rest of Iowa's team hitting 3's at a high percentage, Iowa needs to stay competitive on the boards, and South Carolina can't be hot shooting for Iowa to have a real shot. South Carolina is just so damn deep and tall.
@@bryantthompson6817 rings culture is clouding people's ability to appreciate great players in real time...I knew it was prevalent in the NBA but I didn't realize people were using it against players in womens college basketball too. Not winning a ring isn't the end all be all, just recognize an amazing talent when you see one
The entire state of Iowa is behind this group of fantastic ladies. Caitlin had a 41 point triple double in this game, it has NEVER happened by anyone, men or women in D1 ball. Her vision is insane. She has such an incredible way of finding open teammates who can also shoot the 3's. The biggest compliment about Caitlin is the way she speaks about her teammates FIRST every time she is interviewed. It is NEVER "I", she is very unselfish but recognizes when she has a shot. Steph Curry has been watching her and giving her compliments about her game.
@@camdenjones47 You are correct, I've been watching too many videos and the stats sometimes get stuck and I make a mistake. Thank you for correcting me.
I agree that Lobo was probably talking about Louisville's last shot and got cut off. They were cutting into the Iowa lead and a player that hadn't shot much took a mid-range jumper with plenty of time and space left. Probably was going to say something like "That's not the shot Louisville needed" but stopped when Clark put up the transition three.
A fabulous player on an incredible team. The screens and pick-and-roll fundamentals are really fun to watch. Also, you can only put an assist on the board if your team mate actually makes the basket. This whole team is AMAZING and Clark is at the head of the table!
It's really impressive how many of her points come in the flow of the offense - with that shot, she could vacuum up every ball and go for it, and it would be tough to gainsay it, but she makes the team very dangerous by being unselfish; defense cant pretend she's a one up match for anyone, and can't just double her and forget it. Great offensive talent.
I'm gonna assume in the WNBA coaches actually know what a double-team is... why am I seeing defenders left on an island guarding this chick over and over?
@@nahor88 It's a fair question but a challenging dilemma for opposing coaches/defenses. Iowa was the #1 shooting 3-point team in the nation and their post is an absolute beast as well. With Caitlin's ball-handling, unrivaled court vision and elite passing, she finds open teammates who can knock down 3's, basket cut, seal defenders in the post and finish at the rim. If her teammates weren't so strong, doubling and face-guarding would be excellent, viable options.
You are late but welcome to the CC party my dude. I been at this party for 3 years. Took Steven A. Smith 3 years to say Women's Stephen Curry on First Take. While everyone else and I knew she was that Lady Curry since Day 1. Better late than never😉.
You can just tell she’s on a different plane than anyone on the court. Wonder if she’s trending to be the best WNBA player when she finally gets drafted. I could see her in her rookie year just dominating.
I've seen people online unironically saying the Van Lith girl is better than Clark? at what? she isn't in the same realm in terms of mechanics, court vision shooting technique or intangibles. Van Lith is the type of player to fade into the background if they ggo pro. Clark will be a star player even at the pro level until her body gives out on her.
@@TheAppalachianEsqI think what they meant by "all on her own" was the decision to come over and double team the ball handler. Clark read it and doubled her. Marshall actually forced the turnover, but it happened because of the double team.
shes without question cold af and prolly has some of the best college performances in history but bruh maya moore was wiping chicks in college (prolly best UConn player ever). prime bird and turasi were real issues as well
I am an 80's NBA fan, I haven't paid attention since the 90's. From a cursory exam Caitlin Clark is, like, 65% Larry Bird, 20% Dan Marjerle and 15% Kevin McHale. Bird; come off the screen and nail it, get teammates involved, great help defender, makes amazing passes and demands the ball for the biggest shots. (and the king of trash talk, while backing it up.) Marjerle; anything closer than half court is in range, take you off the dribble and slash through the lane. McHale; Laughs at double (or triple) teams, dizzying array of shots to choose from in the post, finds a way to get a clean look at the hoop. McHale was a superb face up defender and shot blocker. I haven't seen enough of Caitlin to know how her defense is. I hope she has a long and productive career. Thanks, Caitlin, for the amazing play and, hopefully, for greatness in the years to come.
Great court vision, excellent passing, can shoot from deep even on pullups and off one bounce, finishes through contact. Goddamn does this girl have everything in the toolbag.
@@jdneely9939Now Iowa is the only Offensive team with the firepower left on the bracket. Just saying. Gamble wisely ya'll. Thank me later after you get your 🧀😉.
@@jdneely9939 SC doesn't have to "burn the scoreboard" because they play better defense. SC has been winning by wider margins despite scoring fewer points. Generally speaking, when elite defense meets elite offense, elite defense wins. This is true in football and basketball.
You people are smoking crack if you think Caitlin Clark is the best player in the women's game that girl from UConn page buckers is the best player and she missed this year
I hope she does as well, but some of the remaining teams are very deep and talented. I feel it may be too much for her to do on her own. Her teammates help where they can but even when Clark isn't scoring, she has to create shots for her teammates.
@@slylockfox85 I see your another one that's on Clark's jock strap so won't win the championship this year because she always gets bounce out of the NCAA every time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There’s a great short video of her domination whether edited or not, cleverly shows the dudes who shout “overrated” gradually shrink and self immolate in shame
She is a beast on both ends of the court who isn’t afraid to make plays for herself and her teammates to score. Love to see this type of high energy play in college basketball
i am not a big fan of college basketball so i didnt know her until this tournament. she is incredible and I will be watching and rooting for her tomorrow. she gained a fan.
You have your games confused. In the Iowa versus Louisville game, which was the subject of this video, Clark was 11-19 on FG, including 8-14 on three-pointers, and 11-13 on FT.
@@tyreek.6815 It's a possibility she may be. Just when it's not mentioned it makes some people feel awkward and seems dishonest of it's not mentioned. But maybe that's totally untrue and I'm wrong. And maybe it's the "other" way, maybe it's a FM transition? Never thought of that. At the end of the day, wow what a performance! First time I really was excited about women's basketball in a long time. It has evolved as have the players and the play in general.
Ain't no Kobes in UA 🤣. They already got the Clarks 1 in blueprint before she gets drafted in WNBA. She's going to be sporting those out on her debut. When she does play in the WNBA. She's starting for the team that tanked the Season to get her either on the 1st game or on her 2nd WNBA game. Statefarm got her on hold until after the NCAA.
Steph Curry showed everyone you don't need to be a 6'9 freak athlete to captivate an audience. She's not bigger than the other girls, or stronger or faster. But the moment she touches the ball you immediately realize shes not playing the same game as the rest of them.
She seems faster to me, the way she breaks into full speed immediately after getting ball possession and charges down court leaving the other player’s in her dust.
She is an absolute stud do not get me wrong… but look at #5 for Louisville’s defense… i don’t think there’s more than 5 plays where the defense didn’t fall apart due to her, (not hustling, standing there, and yelling at tm8s) that dosent take anything away from Clark tho… she exposed her 😂
