When players can't play with a 30 point lead, against a team that was missing 3 of their key players, a team they narrowly beat with all of those stars just a couple weeks ago....its ALL ON THE PLAYERS. They play the game. Quit blaming the coach.

There's a lot of talk about Clark's offensive potential, but conveniently, her defensive inefficiency is never mentioned. From the match against Phoenix alone I could give you about ten examples, but by now I have learned that discussing technique with Clark fans is useless
Elite point guards are often not good defenders. Even Steph Curry had to work on his defense. She's working on it and analysts have noted how she's already improving in this area.
Christi Sides is not entirely to blame. The Fever will make playoffs. When up by 31 the other team starts playing street ball since they have nothing to lose.

when coach put wheeler in and she ran point....is when the change happened. just watch the game. cc passed to wheeler twice....wide open for a 3 and she would not shoot it . wheeler would not pass to a wide open cc. it was gross to watch
Not just a new coach but a new GM as well. The GM supports Sides and generally makes excuses for her shortcomings. However, at the very least, Sides is incompetent and needs to be replaced! This team, as is, could be great but not with the current staff.
A bad coach with a good team is a bad recipe that must be dealt with before the Playoffs. I speak from personal experience as a Milwaukee Bucks fan, the Bucks had no business or reason to lose to the Heat in the 2023 Playoffs, their coach underutilized their defensive prowess.

When approached to be head coach for the Fever, Sides actually said she didn't want the position. She was more than content just being assistant coach. Lin Dunn (GM) insisted Sides become head coach... Here we are with the outcome of that decision. There's actually video of Christie speaking on this.

It's gone beyond Sides doing these things hopping to make CC look bad, which she has certainly done, she just doesn't know how to coach a player of outstanding ability. Why on god's green earth would a coach feel the need to give minutes to every player on the bench and waste that lead? Fever need somebody like Jackson to come in and make sure this team plays through CC. I am still not over Sides ruining the chance CC had a couple of weeks ago to get a triple double by benching her unforgivable she needs to go and take her little favourite with her.
CC could've had the Assist record, but at the end of the game, one player missed a lay up and another missed an open shot.. and her own team mates kept the ball out of her hands in the 4th quarter. I think jealousy still plays a big role from the players and her own COACH!!!
She told Clark to get in contact with her if she felt the need to. She wants to mentor Clark. Taurasi loves playing, but I bet she would accept the coaching job.
Sides is in on the AR push to ROTY. She needs to be fired immediately to stop the damage. The entire fever team should go on strike during the break until the Fever hires a coach that can highlight Caitlin and explain to the rest of the team they are role players or bench sitters.

Caitlin is a double double performance making teammates involved, Pts and assists, while Reese is double double only for herself, Pts and Rebound no teammates involvement besides she only makes rebounds from her own missed shots.

I think CC has the Fever playing over their skies. The young coach starts with a dumb-ass roster change before the Mystics game, then the team blows a 31 point lead against the Mercury. Chalk it up to trying to grow up too fast thanks to CC. The Fever shouldn't be this good yet. A good problem to have.
Sides is not a Head Coach. She is an asst. Coach, claims to be a defensive specialist. And when she pulls Caitlin out and puts Wheeler in . She must subconsciously be resorting to her defense coaching . Because she actually is telling wheeler to slow the game down. This is exactly what you have the defense do when the pace of the game is kicking your arse. That is why Clark has been getting a full court press . The other team is trying to slow her game down. And Clark should not be in the game as the shooting guard because they are not passing her the ball.

Reminds me of the New Orleans Pelicans, they will jump on teams and get up by 20 or more and it’s like they think the game is over or something and they take their feet off the gas and let teams back into the game

Then in the last 12min of the game Christie Sides despirately despirate worked to sink both CC's stats and what should have been an easy coasting win for the Fever. This game should have been 12 final minutes of Stat padding for the whole team, Fantastic playing for more of the bench with increased rotations. Anything, but the stupid prevent defense with CC standing Ball-less in the corner alone for 12 mins.
It hasn't been all the coaches fault when things haven't gone well for the Fever. However, when they get big wins like they just had, they need to carry the momentum for more than just that game. They're so inconsistent, have to keep the mojo going once they have it. Sides doing weird stuff in the fourth quarter has to stop.
