I'M A HUGE UCONN HUSKIES BASKETBALL FAN, AND LISTENING TO HER SAY IN AN INTERVIEW NOT LONG AGO, THAT SHE REALLY WANTED TO BE RECRUITED BY THE G.O.A.T.🐐, UCONN HUSKIES COACH GENO AURIEMA...BUT, SHE NEVER GOT RECRUITED BY HIM, AND WAS DISAPPOINTED...I'M SURE THAT GAVE HER SOME EXTRA JUICE OF DESIRE & MOTIVATION TO BE THE BEST SHE COULD BE. PAIGE BUECKERS & CAITLIN CLARK WERE IN THE SAME RECRUITING CLASS. UNFORTUNATELY, BUECKERS HAS BEEN HELD BACK DUE TO HER 2 ACL INJURIES. IT WAS GREAT TO SEE HER PLAY THIS PAST SEASON, & BUECKERS IS PLAYING FOR ONE MORE SEASON AT UCONN. IF UCONN IS HEALTHY GOING INTO THE NCAA TOURNAMENT, THEY'LL HAVE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO WIN IT ALL IN 2025!

Clark played volleyball in a Universe I stumbled through in Quantum Leap school. She had a pretty good vertical jump. Made the Olympic Team for the United States of Northern Mexico. No medals won that year, but set a record for most service aces in a game. Natural talent in every Universe apparently.
I can see her soccer side in the way she plays basketball. the way she counter attacks, gives passes, dribbles past players, creates chances, mapping the field with vision . She developed little traits that separate her from the competition
I feel like being good at soccer will help you with positioning in basketball...With soccer you have so much time off the ball and through balls are such a huge part of the game, that it will help you in a more compact playing field since it teaches you how to get away from defenders and find lines through the defense. I was never a star athlete but did play soccer and every now and then we had a basketball tournament at school. Even though I never really played basketball, it felt very natural. Running through the defense and putting in simple lay-ups felt very natural too.
That's good to know. My kid is 9 and plays soccer and baseball. But he'll probably have to pick one in a few years right? He excels at both, but especially soccer, but he's been playing that longer and more consistently.
I was the same way. Hockey, Volleyball, speed skating, speed walking, short sprints, bike racing, flag football, water polo, basketball, team handball, gutter ball, swimming underwater, foose ball, stealing bases in little league, dodge ball. tried wrestling, soccer, tennis as kid but didnt like them. never golfed other than mini. waterpolo and handball i was great goalie no one could score on. Even gym teacher (handball) in jr high. i could also score. same with fooseball. 2 on 2 id have half the points as goalie.

High school soccer is not a realistic evaluation of a player’s ability due to the disparity of talent of players around and against the individual you’re looking at.
I wish she would leave the WNBA (not gonna happen, I know) and do something else like soccer or gold. WNBA is true punk league and that is NOT going to change. It was set up to be an activist league, not a basketball league.
It is Caitlin’s duty to our nation to immediately go down to Miami to mate with Lionel Messi while he is here. She is our best chance to bring us an American Messi as a US citizen. The two most incredible athletes in the world who you would never guess were elite athletes if you saw them on the street. If they were a couple like Benifer or Branglina they would be “Catmess”😂
Real soccer parents know high school ball is total trash and there's a huge disparity in talent. I'm a big CC fan, she made the right choice sticking with bball. Her foot skills are pretty basic judging by this video. Extremely talented athlete though!
