@@thecarter8700 they always have a bad defense, since they are really bad at defense... they have the best offensive player ever. but the coach and GM have no clue what to do about it. and put two BIGS into the game.... they lost points just because the opponent ran them down... 🤣 not to mention.. they waved their best defender....... most losses are due to ill handling from Coach and GM.
because everyone gets up for Clark, they try to deny her the ball 60 feet from the hoop,Boston and Clark were the only 2 who showed up, Smith didn't look bad on the stat sheet but she was a killer tonite, Hull+ Samuelson couldn't hit a 3,Clark needs to not pass up shots especially below the foul line,at least 2 maybe 3 times she passed up wide open shots below the foul line to dish to someone, we needed Mitchell tonite because she doesn't need to be setup,Dontas shes fat and out of shape where the hell is Temi? the only big that has some quickness and lateral movement
Dallas players closed their eyes, threw up the ball and they couldn't miss. I don't know what their average game shooting percentage is, but this game had to be way over their norm.
Only problem with Fabenle is she gets into foul trouble quick she really needs to work on that, if she could lock that down it would plus the team so much.
Clark is phenomenal on every level. She & Boston were the only ones trying to win. The Fever will be a very successful team when they finally hire a competent head coach & upgrade the roster.
Nalyssa Smith can improve her fundamental finishing skills. This could be an example of a player that relied on size and athleticism while she was young and failed to develop her skills.
@@dgkendall1 Hopefully Temi Fagbenle will be healed and recovered after the month long break so she can return to the starting lineup because she & Boston are Clark's best teammates who know how to play winning basketball. Smith needs to shape up quickly because there was no excuse for her not being able to catch passes or make easy layups around the rim. Highschool players have better fundamentals than Clark's teammates which is a travesty.
@@lilrayreactionz2007 at 6’ and a strong lower body, she’s going to be bigger than most point guards. In the rare occasions she gets 5’ 8” to 5’ 10” guards on her, she should definitely keep backing defenders down.

Your breakdown of the weaknesses of the players seeing minutes rn is 100%. If you could combine Katie Lou with Lexie you'd have something out there. NaLyssa frustrates me to no end tho. Capable but seems to lack focus and that will to win game in game out. When she's not playing well the Fever will most certainly lose. Same with streaky Mitchell. AB and CC are by far more consistent than the rest and CC still ain't hitting her shots like she can.
The shooting has been terrible. If you ever mention it, it gets attributed to defense by the other team, which is generally nonsense. This game hopefully stands out, neither team played defense. Yet, one team was still unable to make shots. It feels as if they have had this issue for quite some time.
@basilfawlty241 The Indiana team is under pressure having CC on the team and the national media attention...these same ladies from college were knock down shooters...Lexi, Katie Lou and Wheeler but in the pros...not so much. I think it's the pressure to perform. At Iowa, her teammates knocked open shots down. It's sad...one and done in the playoffs...if CC goes for 30pts & 20 assist in the playoffs and they still lose will be the worse feeling ever.
@@bpraise517 I know Lexi and Katie are both capable, and don't at all worry about them taking the shot. They just cant hit the ocean currently. I'm not sure how much of it is pressure from media and attention, though. Both were engaged with the media all through college and likely high school. I know Lexi and her sister were. I would assume the same for Katie, as most UConn recruits typically are at the top of the recruiting list nationally. I don't know much of Wheelers college work, so won't comment on that. Hopefully they can get it sorted during this break. Clark included, as her shot has looked off as well.
@basilfawlty241 Concerning Clark I always thought she missed alot but with her 25-29 shots a game in Iowa she'd get hot then boom 41pts on 13 shots. See in the pros it's 10-15 shots...is not enough so she makes assist to stay engaged...but she's a steaky volume shooter.
@@bpraise517 I felt she took some 'bad' shots at Iowa too. Sure, she can make them, but that doesn't always mean it's a good shot. I think shes better than just a volume shooter. Some of those shots were 'heat checks' after she had made a few. We can do without those, and I hope we can do without Arike 2.0, Clark is better than that; at least I believe so.
She's made some stupid turtle. S that I'll admit not as many lately, but remember turnovers in missed. 3 pointers have something in common. When you're tired, you make mistakes. She rebounds with her brain. She shoots with her brain. She gribbles with her brain. But when people are in your face and you're too step. Slow, you get beat and she's more than 2 steps slow. I know they say she's put on Muslim weight. Which she may have, but she's been living in hotels for 10 months, granted their sweets, but no home cooking. No break from the tournament to the draft. Is talk shows to share the night live by deciding autographs and taking selfies every single day. And making everybody feel special. It takes your big break for you. I'm all a Harris is our new President. And she's a greedy in Sierra disgusting. Human and you're twice as smart as she is and twice is nice. I take that back a 1000 times nicer.
I agree, but the lack of being able to finish easy layups is what doomed them… also, I never seen a team travel as much as the Fever… Not sure after the overturn on the Boston foul, why do you take her out for so long?
CC#22 is the Rookie of the Year and it’s not even Close… 19 assists in one game 👀, Fastest to 400 points and 200 assists in 26 games in WNBA history… Beating Sue Bird who did it in 30+ games… 1st Rookie in WNBA history with a Triple Double and she was close on a couple other games. She is the engine of the Indiana Fever… I think she played 40 mins last night. On and off the Court she is a Class Act…
Not just "vision" but her "anticipation" of how the next few seconds should go. The problem is her teammates often don't have her vision or anticipation and often do things that don't make any sense leading to turnovers. But all of it has improved dramatically. Boston wasn't catching that close quarters behind the back pass a month ago because there is no way she would think anyone would ever try it. Now she is.
It’s almost like people expect her teammates to be mind readers, but I think Boston is getting to know her really well and anticipating some of her moves like Temi did early on.
I like your positive take take on this game, and other games. You don't get too down or rant and rave like some other Fever/Clark you tubers. Eventually they will win games like this, they just aren't quite there yet as you said. I agree in the long run this loss will be forgotten, Clark breaking the all time assist record will be remembered. The future of the Fever with Clark and Boston leading the way is very, very bight.
Ownership has to spend on a couple of quality free agents who can fit around Clark. The Fever don't have any good players to trade, they need to keep Mitchell.
To get to the next level, Nalyssa Smith can’t be on the team next year. She can’t be a starter for this team, need an upgrade to hang with the top 5 teams.
Smith has her flaws, but in this game her rebounding (along with Boston) proved important. You could see the problems the fever had rebounding when they weren't in the game. Smith just has to realize that her offensive game is ugly, and her ball handling is not good.
@@wymple09 Can’t just look at stats. She looked scared to bang down low. She’s right under the rim and instead of a couple head fakes and going up strong she tries finesse shit like turnaround jumpers. She even attacks the rim scared. Someone with her size and athleticism should at the very least draw a foul or get a lot of and 1s. She does rebound good, I’ll give her that. On offense Caitlin looks for her bigs a lot and she gets them the ball. AB finishes well. If NaLyssa could even come close to finishing like AB them two would dominate in the paint.
Watching the game CC makes basketball look easy. Her IQ and understanding of the game created so much easy opportunities for her teammates that they couldn’t believe they were missing those. Once the teams gets a break and practice more, they’ll make a deep playoff run.
All they need to do is stop missing open shots. The turnovers suck, but if they had the missed layups, the dumb double dribble and travel and the missed wide open 3s they would’ve won by several points. The other team played their hearts out. I didnt mind them losing to them tonight because the other team played good. And I like seeing how happy they were to win. AB and CC are amazing. My 2 favorite players. Can’t wait to watch the fever after the break.
I'm with you, a Fever fan that also appreciates the underdog wins. Playing the Fever and Clark brings out the best in the opposing teams. Makes for good basketball watching.

I've been saying it for the past 10 games. If the Fever hit even half of the uncontested shots they miss from GOOD plays that they run, they would have significantly more wins than they do. Katie Lou has her moments, but her and Hull are just not reliable 3 shooters and it's really hurting this team right now.
CC already mentioned she’ll work on her midrange game in the off season(she said this at the start of the season). Consistently repeating something she already said she will do doesn’t make sense. Appreciate her game as it is now and prepare for the new additions to her game next season.
sides goofy subs dug a hole. she finally brought the starters back in the second half and nearly won. snith gets a double double yet sits for samuelson and lexi, who can't score.
I can’t stand Sides, however, Sides coached this game well overall. This one was lost due to effort and player focus. The defensive schemes weren’t bad. The players just didn’t execute.
I know it's a different sport, but in soccer you basically play defense similarly to how they do in basketball. I couldn't play forward anymore because I was too slow. So I prided myself on being one of the best defenders. These ladies hardly try blocking shots, or worse, they leave people WIDE OPEN.
For me another game where CC is passing way too much this team are not exactly filled with sharpshooters I just cringe when she drives down the lane and passes to where Kate Martin used to be or Gabby Marshall but we got shooters that can't shoot! I sure hop Temi is healed up after the break and why is Dantas gettting a little more time!!!We got a really good combo in CC 2 AB we do need a new coach and a new players that hit 3 pters and layups for sure tanks again good show!!!!!
So let me see if I got this right. The so called ROTY race was or perhaps still is split in the minds of media experts between: A player that had 24/6/19. Setting a league record with that 19 assists, extending a league record with 20+/x/10+. And in the post game interviews, this player was upset about the L in a close game and rather dismissive of the records. vs A player that had 8/10/x/ That ended a league record streak of consecutive double-doubles. Who was begging for the ball while down 14 points with no shot clock, while all other 9 players were content to dribble out the remaining 16 seconds and was visibly upset upon not getting another attempt. A player who had done the same thing on 2 prior occasions. Including one while ahead on the scoreboard! A player that, did not attend the teams post game interview? Yeah, ok.
Kinda wonder if the Fever were looking past an easy opponent to the Olympic break. Happens. It's kind of amazing that she needed 36 assists to break the season assist record so you're figuring OK 15 more games get at least three a game and boom, you're there. Well, one game and she cut that number in half. two more, maybe three more games and she has the record? After that she's just padding the numbers to put the record way out of reach for everyone else? (Oops, I guess I shouldn't have used the the word "padding" right? ;^)

Awesome game. Caitlin pads her stats by helping her teammates get stats. She is very good. Her numbers are going to decrease if she gets some better teammates. Most of them can't score on their on.
19 assists is the WNBA is extremely impressive especially because they play 40 minute games as opposed to 48 in the NBA and they don't have lob threats like when guards can just lob it up for their teammates to dunk it for easy dimes. And this coming from a rookie.
Temi needs to come back after the break 100% healthy. She moves well without the ball is an excellent post player. Together with Aaliyah, they will be potent threats around the basket for Caitlin's passes.
fever defense killed them in this game. but caitlin was steve nash out there. beautiful and fun basketball to watch. agree that cc has to take more shots in the 4th.
There was no disrespect by CC to the veterans of the league. Nothing but profound respect for the WNBA. They chose to bully Caitlin. They clearly weren’t paying attention to the NCAA but had an opinion that was juvenile. Just sad all around.
Fun. You forgot about fun. Why did CC get 700,000 all star votes? Her stat sheets? Sure, really good stat sheet, but that's not it. The 'behind the back in traffic' remark is tickling the truth, because it wasn't just spectacular. It was the right play. Her passes are not just good, they are (on occasion) jaw dropping. When she shoots from the logo, she does it with style. Why do we love to see Curry shoot? Because he has game, true, but he's fun to watch. John Stockton is the best assist man in NBA history, but Magic Johnson was more popular because why? He was more fun to watch. Bird was a great three point shooter but before one of the contests he said to all the competitors, "Which one of you is going to be second?" Why did he say such a thing? Because he recognized the value of entertainment (that, and being an unrepentant trash talker). CC is not just drawing fans, money and wins (compare the Fever team to last year and the year before) she is also raising the entire league. I estimate 3 billion in revenue. The 2.2 billion contract for TV (non-exclusive!) belongs to her. The charter jets, the merch flying off the shelves, the doubled ticket sales despite much higher ticket prices? CC, CC, CC. Endorsement money is way up. Those banner ads during the game, do you think it costs the same this year? The Beachboys said, "Cause we'll have fun fun fun till her daddy takes the T-Bird away". She works so hard every single game that it weighs on her, her shots are falling short..I wish they would get to 500. But I don’t trust the team, can’t catch a pass, can’t score open shots, not even layups, travel, double dribbles..too many fouls..horrible..
Bruh first of all they use Lyss as a clean up person. She goes up and gets rebounds and puts them back. She needs to go somewhere where they utilize her correctly.
The Fever have 3 legit players. After that, not much. The ownership is going to have to get a free agent and spend money. I'm not optimistic, look at the Pacers. Clark might have to go another team ultimately. I'm pretty sure Magic Johnson is salivating.

And lost… Look at the difference between how the team looked against the Lynx and last night. In Minnesota everybody was involved, multiple passes by multiple players. Last night everything went through CC. Sure, she can fill out the stat sheet, but they lost against a team with 5 wins. I don’t expect to change a CC’s fan’s mind. Think what you want.
