At least at Iowa they set far better screens. Double screens, more cutting to the hoop (as you rightfully mentioned). They weren't amazing at it, but it was FAR more effective than this garbage. It's like they half ass run this offense. Could you imagine what Steve Kerr could do with CC and this team? I know he's one of the best, but maybe study some of his sets and get the personnel who can make this offense more efficient. Gonna be a long couple of months for the Fever I'm guessing.
@@Wraithlen They score 100 a game and they would win 90% of em. Even with a crap defense. This league is sketchy. Would be more fun for the fans too!!!!!! 😂
Y'all wanna know something crazy..as bad as these screens were, they are actually significantly better than they were about 5-10 games ago. I am not joking.
Awful coaching! Now make a video about plays where CC is on court but Fever does not create any type of play for CC shots. Comentators are mentioning this a lot. That coach is wasting CC talent. So, some examples about it would be nice! By the way, that lady that stays away from the play and does not cut for the lay-up or moves to shooting position is Wallace. Again, comentators are talking about how useless she is. I think Wallace was the one who killed Fever's chances in the final minutes.
Stop the Cap, She had the damn ball and her hands more then anybody, She chose to pass the ball how is that freezing her out? She don’t have that dawg in her.
@@ObiAmajoyiSrMDwheeler had the most time and when she ran point the ball never touched Clarks hands sparky. And that's in crunch time. So wtf you talkin about?
Man I love your videos!!!! Nothing but truth no bias. My team needs a coaching staff who can teach team defense and how to execute a pick and roll offense. The players simply dont know what to do and where to go. Clarks fans need to see and understand that she has a lot to learn
One thing people don't realize is how fast CC is. She just blows by people all the time. But her teammates don't seem to know what to do on the open floor. It's a mess like a bad pickup game.
@@npcfigureathletedawnirish691 It isn’t only that CC’s teammates don’t know how good she is. Most of the starters think they are better than she. That’s why they don’t look for her. When Pete was @ LSU all his teammates knew he was exceptional. Also Pete’s coach was Press Maravich whom Jonny Wooden @ UCLA would often call up for advice. Pete had Press for a coach. CC has Sides who’s never even coached a HS team. CC faces the same environment that Pete faced when he first came up to the NBA: his teammates resented his huge contract and reputation as all-time Div. 1 leading scorer. That’s why CC is often frozen out and why they won’t set picks for her. The Indiana players and management think she’s over-rated because that’s what everybody in the WNBA is telling them.
“Like a bad pickup game” is a perfect descriptor. It’s like they’re standing on the wings because they’re trying to catch their breath from having to hustle down the court like a 50-year old weekend warrior
I absolutely love that AC is holding the WNBA to the same standards as the NBA when it comes to the game within the game. They're professionals and are playing N. Korea style schemes, coached by Kim Jung Un's sister. Hit that cowbell Gene.
Wallace, Samuelson, Berger, and Hull don't like to attack the basket from close. that's why they always stand at 3 pt lines. with CC only goes to her right side for her offense, Fever is really limited on what they can do.
So if their offense is limited as you say and their defense is one of the worst in the league, what does that say about the organization (owner, GM, coaches, scouts, etc)? Especially considering they have had the #1 pick the last 2 years?
@@davidmathewson1088 Fever also could have signed Skylar Diggins (former Mercury now plays for Storm) before this season started but decided not to. Fever bet too much on this one trick pony and this is what they have right now. But it's changing. Fever's new recruit Damiris Dantas is over 6'3" and 220lbs to aid Boston. Sadly they had to let go Celeste Taylor in the process.
@@davidmathewson1088number 1 picks are a “bad” thing …lol😂 Yall get me coming in here arguing about basketball all the time while having no clue what you are talking about. The worse teams gets the first picks with the anticipation that the best players will make a difference in the future. Fever, in my opinion, will try and lose to ensure that they get the best talent possible for the future. It’s an investment strategy. So that’s what you say about the GMs scouts and so on! These players are tools, the product of the business. So when guys are crying about poor Clark and Sides needs to be fired- not gonna happen because it’s the big picture strategy-lol😂
i seriously have no idea of or any experience in basketball, but even i can see the missed plays Awful Coaching is ranting about... great tactical analysis
This is the same response I have (emotionally) every time I watch a Seattle Sounders match. Supposed professionals who apparently don't understand the game's basics (specifically what constitutes a foul).
If they ran lots of plays for Caitlin Clark the opponents would have no choice but to double and triple team her, leaving one or more players completely open and allowing master-passer Caitlin Clark to get 20 assists per game.
Really good points. The Fever players don't know what to do. They stand around like spectators of the game!! That's the value a coach brings, teaching players. Sides makes $500k a year!
Thank you for your analysis. It’s frustrating to see all this happen but somebody has to point this out, like you. Now I know what a badly coached team looks like.
The pick at 1:30 was terrible because the person setting the pick needs to move directly at the person guarding CC. And then she didn't set her feet and would have had an offensive foul for sticking her butt out. She also was leaning away from the pick and heading to the basket and she hadn't even had contact with the defender yet. Do they practice this at all? It doesn't look like it. The other point about picking up the dribble too soon is spot on. Keep the pressure on Reese to set up the player rolling. A lot of good points in the subsequent plays. Indiana is leaving a lot of points on the floor. This is coaching.
Excellent break down, I've been yelling at the TV about those screens all year. What's really sad, is it's better than it was at the start of the season.
It’s cool that you are putting some of the blame on the pick and rolls on Caitlin as well. I don’t think she’s running tight enough to her screener but on some of those if she ran any tighter, she would have to basically turn up court and she would run into the second defender.
Is it true the Fever's coach never had a head coaching job and it shows a losing record yet she blames her player's this clip is example of women not executing on offense and lost on defense and a coach that doesn't belong running a pro team
Can you imagine AC getting hired as fever head coach after this bum Christie sides gets fired. AC is on ESPN with these screaming videos being posted? I can’t imagine the WNBA fanbase supporting the hire. But it would be truly incredible seeing him coach the most important women’s basketball player of all time. Imagine the post game press conferences.
I've noticed that CC doesn't wait for screens to be set and moves to far back from the screen allowing her defender to go over the top. She needs to work on waiting for screens to be set before going around them.
I'm convinced I have what it takes to coach the NBA, with this guy as my offensive and defensive coordinator lol. I could teach everyone the mental game and facilitating while this guy has me covered on Xs and Os.
Don't worry, the coach said she wasn't worried about anything offensively yesterday and used the entire practice to focus on defense. Literal brain damage.
Fever were so bad in this game they making awful coaching sound like Phil Jackson in these takes. Fever please send a staff to watch YT takes if you dont wanna fire Sides, atleast it will help her and the team not repeat the same mistakes... smh
