One of the best things about Clark is that she never speaks badly of anyone else. She never takes the bait -- she turns the other cheek and even praises others who are critical of her. What a great example for others to follow.
Let's face it, the WNBA and opposing teams tried to crush Caitlin and make her and her fans disappear. They scheduled the Fever 11 games in 21 days against the best teams in the league. They hazed her, roughed her up, guarded her harder than any other players, blitzed and double teamed her more than twice as much as any other player, downplayed her in the media while propping up Reese, etc. She fought through all of that and emerged from the other side as the best point guard in the league, breaking records every time she steps on the court. She's fatigued from playing for 10 straight months, but after the Olympic break and some rest for those legs, she's going to be hitting those 3's again and lighting it up!
They believe that Caitlin Clark is receiving an abundance of attention solely because the media has "elevated" her to superstar status. So they are now attempting to "elevate" other players to achieve the same level of recognition and popularity as Clark. What they fail to grasp is that Clark's popularity is not manufactured by the media. Clark is celebrated for her unique basketball style and her personality. Media coverage of Clark is a reaction to public interest, not the cause of it. Eventually, they will understand that this "diminish Clark to uplift others" strategy is flawed. The media thrives on clicks and views, and once it becomes evident that Clark is the main attraction and that WNBA superstars cannot be fabricated through media coverage alone, this approach will stop.
I have never seen anything like it, even though they wanna say it'd Magic Bird again. Well Bird came in and played very well and the NBA guys accepted him after seeing his skills. You'd think these women would be the same way and accept it for the greater good of the games future.

I know I won’t watch it if Caitlin is not playing. At first I started watching all the games but I saw how Caitlin was getting treated bad in every aspect. Now I only watch Fever games. I was really getting into then they showed there a.. and I was out except for watching Caitlin
You don't understand the supply chain issues. The All Star jersey is not the only Clark jersey that is sold out and the restock is a month or so away from happening. If you have a beef it should be with the WNBA not ordering enough in the first place. But then they have never had to deal with the attention and demand that follows Clark .
The pettiness of some of these players is astounding. Mainstream America didn't watch the WNBA till CC showed up. Nobody even heard of some of these "superstars"! Caitlin is bringing eyes to the game and now she's bringing the cash. All of Caitlin all star jerseys were sold in 17 minutes..every size! She makes the WNBA marketable.. This brings the shine to others and their own unique skills.. The WNBA wants the veterans to get the glory and they are snubbing her. Diana Taurasi and so many others have been worshiped. I have followed basketball over 50 years college and pro. Not the WNBA....Clark has me watching now. BTW, A'ja Wilson is really good. But, I just heard of her in the past few months. My point is, following Clark has introduced me to how good alot of the WNBA players are. I do feel the WNBA is a private club and will blow this whole opportunity.
And even for me, I never heard about Caitlyn Clark until I started following the trajectory/high school & college career of Paige Bueckers. That's how distant the wnba and their stars were off my radar. I had heard of Lisa Leslie and Sue Bird and Brittney Griner (for non-basketball reasons), but never generated enough interest to watch a pro game, especially with NBA games as an alternative -- and even then I only tuned in to see what Steph Curry was doing. Hopefully, when Paige enters the league, she becomes the Larry Bird to Caitlyn's Magic Johnson.
Maybe they should’ve told the media companies when they were negotiating TV rights that they were not going to make CC the face of the league and they didn’t want to advertise her or promote her record-breaking performances.

I watched a video of Clark in practice shooting threes around the parameter of the key. When she shoots a three on or near the line, it looks more like an extended two point shot. Of course it was a drill in practice so her percentage rate was in the high 90% range. But in a repetitive three point contest, probably would kill it. Why can't the media and the league just accept that Clark is one of those exceptional individuals that comes along in a lifetime and celebrate it.
I think she should go Europe and she will get big contract possibly more than USD 1 million per season or just get the contract by Cube for USD 5 million for 1 month and let WNBA suffer financially

I never watched the WNBA until this year. All they needed to see was that one sports celebrity put $1 million of his own money up last year. Once the Las Vegas Aces won for the WNBA League title the second time in a row and one of their players started popping off about how awesome they were. The celebrity put up 1 million of his own dollars to have a boys high school team play against the Las Vegas Aces and to see who would win that game. The Las Vegas Aces very quietly snuck out of the limelight, because they knew what the result of that game would’ve been. I’m sure that even Bishop Gorman high school from Las Vegas last year could have beating them by at least 20 points.

Caitlin: Yeah, honestly like I think just the rest. - like I've been playing basketball for a year straight. Like that's it's not an easy thing to just show up to and shoot off of a rack. It's not something I've ever done before. It’s not something I've had a lot of time to practice, I've been focusing on helping my team win games. So I think just, you know, enjoying this break. I think there's going to be plenty of opportunities for me to do that at some point, but at the same time like the field of shooters that we have in the competition are really good. They're all like near 40% shooters. So, I'm excited for them, I'll be there supporting them and it'll be fun. But yeah, I mean, I think the biggest thing for me is just like I need to break and I need to take some time to myself to enjoy what I want to do. And at times that can be tough being the position that I'm in, but I think it's healthiest for myself
I agree with your assessment. I will not be tuning into the WNBA unless Ms. Clark is expected to be on Court. If her fans do the same it will force the WMBA to recognize her greatness. Or they will revert to pre- CC status quo or parish.

Both Ioenescu and Clark are out of the 3- point contest and skills contest, today. I think Clark mentioned awhile back that this weekend is for all the players to shine. But, I think the Olympic team will be pressing for a quick pace. And trying for quick scoring and steals, gor the first 5 minutes. Then, trying to keep that pace. A high scoring game with the pace, I think. The Wnba All-Stars have a legend coaching them, for Saturday. Their coach Cheryl knows what the other team can do.

I’m new at watching the WNBA because of “of course “ Caitlin Clark. And exploring all the other teams playing between themselves (not with the Fever) I’ve notice how “BORING “ they are, Caitlin Clark when I watch her playing, is like a MARVEL movie character, (reason why II call her CC-logo3) Fighting all the haters and bad girl. She does have a GREAT Karma and will DEFINITELY succeed against the: Racist, envying eyes. And bad Karme Evil souls because, God is with her as well as millions of good peoples like you and me in giving her strength and always defending her.
Probably not very realistic, but at one point I thought it would be great if she got drafted (or traded) to an NBA team. Her fanbase would follow and the pettiness would disappear. She would have a whole team of brothers. Most of all, it would make history -- the first woman to play for an NBA team.
They also shun her on the WNBA app, when the fever play and any other game is on, they put the fever game low on the list forcing you to see the other teams are playing. Its like putting Milk in the back of the store knowing you have to walk past all the other products hoping you bite.

Kinda think this report is BS. Caitlin Clark has been playing under enormous pressure since the Fall of 2023. The media has been all over her during her pursuit of scoring records. Her college season extended to the 2nd Hawkeye appearance in the NCAA finals in consecutive years. She shouldered an enormous burden getting her team to that position. In a matter of weeks she was immersed in the WNBA and the attendant whirlwind that has become. I think she is tired and looking forward to a break. Her 3-point shooting accuracy dropped off the last couple weeks of the NCAA season and still has not recovered. The WNBA has ZERO reason to deliberately exclude the cash cow (sorry Caitlin) from the All Star Weekend.
What the WNBA is doing is working even if it's not by design, controversy creates interest and keeps people engaged. Fans look at the league's behavior toward Clark and are incensed and that keeps them even more engaged than if the league just rolled out the welcome mat and played ball without all the cheap shots. It's like in every great drama there's always a good guy and a bad guy and the public gets more united if they have an underdog to support or an evil empire to hate.
When Larry Bird showed up for the free throwing competition, he showed up, went to the locker room looked at all the participants and said I just want to see whose coming in 2nd. What's the point of having a competition when your not the best.
