I love how they started with normal/simple questions and then they started throwing those bombs, i honestly wish all interviews could touch these kind of topics, i think it's so important to be able to see a different side of artists and know what their views on global issues are
My gosh. I am amazed. Never have I had the privilege to watch and listen to an interview with Caitlin Stasey before, but let me tell you: this woman is the pure embodiment of all my ideals. She is absolutely intellectually stunning. She doesn't sound contrived at all! Even if she does, I'd rather have her employ her florid language rather than mediocrity-speak. The West needs more intellect. I am amazed by her exceptionally well-honed intellect. I would love to have a conversation with her, just for my ears to absorb her ideas which are so beautifully spoken in the sweet timbre of her voice. I want to marry this woman. Then again, I don't, at all, because I wouldn't want the grand impression I now have of her to be compromised by excessive exposure and symbiosis. However, truthfully I am quite sure that Caitlin would continue to amaze me every day. Many times a day, even! I have never been left so impressed after watching a fourteen minute RU-vid clip. Caitlin is a new discovery. I feel like Leif Erikson when he set foot in Vinland (alleged Norse discoverer of North America), where a whole "New World" of greatness and beauty awaited him. She is a whole new world of beautiful complexities. I shall marry her. Or, at least hope to meet someone akin to her.
This is exactly how I feel about another Australian actress (which I wrote at length about, but shan't go into detail here). So tell me, two years down the track...do you still retain your crush?
David Mitchell Gosh, hindsight is powerful! In the midst of life's happenings, I'd forgotten about her - I am ashamed to say - until today, when I scavenged through my old comments. Well, yes, having been freshly reminded of her, I do retain my crush! You are right! And what a gorgeous intellectual lady she is. Who's the actress you speak of? Perhaps I can get myself a crush on her as well. That is only if you have not charmed your lady already? :)
Haha, not much chance of that ; ) Ashleigh Cummings is her name though. She doesn't have anywhere near the profile of this lass (for which I'm secretly somewhat glad lol) but you may find her on Puberty Blues, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, and alongside Stasey herself on Tomorrow When The War Began! Like you, I'm highly drawn to the intelligence of these ladies, particularly to their use of language. It's a rare thing indeed in the age we live in.
ive been delaying finishing this interview this interview for 2 days now because this is her last interview i havent watched yet and i love listening to her talk, so eloquent....
Wow, A strong, intelligent white woman. Many of them get by on their looks and privilege . She's a good role model for a lot of white women who do nothing and say nothing of value but benefit from a system that protects them she acknowledges the downfalls of the victimization, obsession, and protection she has and calls it out. For good reason
actually this gerl is brilliant she is a good actor. in her country well i love her so mach. catilin and alse her is engilsh. perfet she spoke regular engilsh
+Milk n Honey You're implying you don't like when women have opinions of their own and express them, and would prefer if women were just pretty objects to look at.
Implying = "indicate the truth or existence of (something) by suggestion rather than explicit reference." but whatever, just trying to get you to question biases.
+Alice Clark From what I know, she was born in Australia but travelled around the Middle East due to her father's job. So I'm guessing that she probably picked it up somewhere or she just adapted her accent through traveling and working around the world :-) OH also her parents are from England!
The only difficulty that I have with this interview is that Caitlin's speech is somewhat contrived by which I mean she appears to be assessing each word that she uses in an effort, perhaps to come across as erudite. She should simply be herself. I applaud the fact that women especially choose to read, explore, learn, expand their educational boundaries (as I have done) but she is trying a little too hard with her use of excessively florid language -it comes across a little as affectation. Just be yourself - Be natural x
I've watched every interview ever and this is how she talks. If one ants to use a more expanded vocabulary, I think it's alright. Hell, I never understand what Russell brand is saying half the time and I don't complain. But Caitlin is still understandable and I doubt she's faking, some people just talk like that -Ada
